  1. Bridgette, Congratulations on the 8lbs. I am not going to weigh myself until next Wednesday because I am a compulsive weigher. If I get on it today I will be doing it everyday. Congrats again.

Babyface33, Welcome to the Oct. 29ners. Another week and you will feel like a new person. We need to improve ourselves first and foremost for us. And believe me she will love the new you. You will have so much more energy and be a happier person. That can't help but rub off on the people you are around. Maggies:shades_smile:

  2. Within a couple weeks we will all be back to normal and happy we did this. I have no regrets, even when I was feeling my worst. I'm hopeing I'm tight enough that I won't need a fill for quite a while. And I'm so anxious to weigh myself next Wednesday. It is hard staying of the scale but I'm sure I have gained with all the IVs and gas in me so I am waiting.

Have a good weekend everybody. Maggies:shades_smile:

  3. Wvagal, I am having the same thing with my stomach growling super loud. Last nite I was at my daughters house and it did it and everybody thought it was thunder. So that tells you how loud it is. My diarrea is better but that is because my doctor prescribed medication for it. So hand in there, each day will get better. Maggies:shades_smile:

  4. Hey everyone!!!! This is the first day i have felt up to letting you all know that i'm doing ok, i'm very sore and have had a quite a bitt of pain. The really worse for me is that some how durning surgery i bite my tongue completely threw and it is so swollen and sore that i can hardly talk (good for dh)haha and it feels like i have a mouth full of cotton all the time can't wait for it to be better.

I'm still on clear liquids for two more weeks but have not been hungry i half to force my self to drink, very hard due to the tongue.

As far as Constipation my dr said to use miralax or milk of magnesia not no fiber laxatives! And for gas or bloating to use gas-x chewables i'm going shopping tomorrow and will put these in my medicine cabinet.

My return visit to dr is tues and i hope back to work on wed's.

Good luck to all i pray that everyone is doing good and we will all be healthier for doing this.i will check in again tomorrow

Welcome back debbytx, Good to hear everything went good. All but your tongue. Wow, that had to be hard to do. I know I have been walking a lot and drinking. It seems to help with the gas. Have a good weekend. Maggies:shades_smile:

  5. abbalv, I hope you get relieve from the Constipation. I don't know which is worce. I took one of the pills the doctor prescribed for me and I haven't had diarrea since. So hopefully that was all I needed. For the life of me I don't know where it was coming from, because I haven't eaten since last Sunday, and then it wasn't much.

All Oct. 29ners, Are you all going to weigh yourselves next Wednesday. Lets all post how much we lose that day. Good luck to everyone.

  6. I called the doctor this morning and he put in a prescription for something to help me with it. So hopefully relieve soon. I just don't want to go the other way and be constipated.

Hi, Restless, Hows the weight loss going? I am on liquids for 10 days, but I am aloud to add Protein shakes tomorrow. And then full liquids for another 10 days. I am not going to weigh myself until next Wednesday so that will 1 week after my surgery. Maggie:shades_smile:

  7. I had my surgery on the 2 days ago on the 29th. Has anybody else had diarrea? That is my biggest problem since surgery. My stomach is still swollen from the gas and I guess the trauma from surgery. But all in all I'm doing OK, nothing I didn't expect with exception of the diarrea. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Maggies:shades_smile:

  8. I am here now.........I haven't done very well with the pain....I don't even know what kind of band I have. I am not happy with the service of the hospital at all....the things that were explained in the brochure did not even happen. I will explain later when I am feeling well. I can't burp...can anyone else. I am not hungry or thirsty and scared that I will get dehydrated. I am trying to figure out how this Protein Shake stuff works. will type more later. I am soo glad that you all are doing so well! Hopefully I will start feeling better soon. I honestly wouldnt' have had the surgery if I knew the pain that I was goingtobe in.

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling to good. I was prepared for all of the pain so it didn't surprice me. It will get better every day. I have a lot of gas also so I just need to work it out of me. Plus I have diarrea, which is not fun. My surgeon told me to stay on liquids for ten days, the only exception is I can add Protein Shakes tomorrow. And then 10 days of full liquids. He said any kind of food now could damage your band. He has did several thousand of these. Hope we all feel better soon. Maggie:shades_smile:

  9. I had my surgery 10/29 and I now have diarrera. I'm calling my doctor in the morning to see what I can do for it. I have been farting a lot, and a few times I had to run to the bathroom or it would have been a mess. I know this sounds gross but we all do it. Hope you find the cure for your Constipation.< /p>

Hi Restless, how have you been doing. Are you still losing weight good? I am not going to weigh myself until next Wednesday. Maggie:shades_smile:

  10. Karina, I feel so bad for you, its just not fair. Have you talked to Mrs. Frazier at Travis? She should be able to get you in their next class and since you have most of the testing done it should be pretty quick.

I seem to have diarrea now which isn't much fun. So far I don't have the hurting shoulder, just my stomach is very swollen with gas. And of course my throat feels a little sore from the tubes they put down it during surgery. But all in all, I feel good and do not regret having it done. I tried to eat some sugar free Jello, but I got a very full feeling from it. I will be lucky if I get 36 oz. of Water in me. Let me know if you have talked to Mrs. Frazier. Maggie:shades_smile:

  11. Hi everybody, I am home also. Keep walking Tomatogirl. I just got home about an hour ago. I got out of the hospital about 6pm and went to my sons to spend the nite and then we drove home today. All went well, looks like I have 4 incisions. I'm not going to weigh myself untill next Wednesday. I need to get rid of the bags of Fluid and gas/air they used.

Karina, Travis doesnt require a medical problem. At least they never said it to me. And I know for a fact that they had a lot of people that was in my group go have it somewhere else because one of the surgeons was out on maternity leave and they had to be poseponed. And I'm about 95% sure they dont go thru Tricare. So keep trying.

  12. Karina, I am so sorry. Do you know yet why you were denied again? I'm pretty sure Tricare has nothing to do with Travis or any military hospital. You need a BMI of over 40 and you should'nt have a problem. Call and talk to Mrs. Frazier in the General Surgery unit. That would be a good starting point for you. Let me know how it goes. Maggie:shades_smile:

  13. WVgal I am on a two day clear liquid diet also, and not liking it. I have lost 8lbs. in the last few weeks because I was told I have a fatty liver and hopefully it is a little better now. I go in at 8:30am and surgery is at 11am west coast time. It is so hard to say goodby to food, but we will survive. I don't know how to start a yahoo group, maybe someone else out there?????
