Congrats on your wl, you are doing great. I’m 7 months post bariatric revision and have lost 79lbs to date. I’m officially stalling been 180-181 for almost 3 weeks now. This is longest stall I’ve had and starting to wonder if I’m done losing?? Got a couple more months to go to reach a year and my projected wl is 100lbs.. I hope this stall breaks this week!!!

Hi, official card carrying member of the SLC here!
You're losing at about 1.2kg a week, which is around what my average weekly loss has been.
First up, that is good weight loss! It's nothing to be discouraged about, that is a healthy, good rate. It's easy to buy into the rapid-loss dream, and I absolutely don't begrudge folks who have had their "honeymoon period" and had weight "melt off" - genuinely thrilled for you! But I think it's vital to go into WLS managing your expectations (with rate of loss, loose skin and hair loss). I went into it pretty zen, though I have had my perfectly human moments of wishing I was losing faster. BUT, I'm losing well, about 7 months out and have lost over half my excess body weight and have dropped 4 sizes. Results aren't always on the scale - it's important to remember that!
I'm not just a slow loser, but I'm also a serial staller. I have lost count of how many stalls I've had - stalls and I are on a first-name basis. In the first four months I was stalling every second week, for at least a week at a time. I feel like I earned a damned trophy for my stalling expertise. But they always break (even if they go on for weeks), and that's what you need to keep in mind. Stay off the scale when it happens, focus on the good things like feeling better, clearer skin, the clothes that are starting to fall off you.
And ultimately? You're not alone. Your experience isn't weird, or wrong, or abnormal. Don't compare yourself to others, manage your expectations, slow down and breathe. Enjoy all the small victories the journey brings.

Congrats ! Isnt it a good feeling to actually look in the mirror and see the difference. I also had my surgery in Nov the 8th to be exact and I am also @ 54 lb weight loss and counting. I’m struggling also with the 30 min before and after meals, who knew it would be this hard! I find myself takin a cap full literally to satisfy the erge! I hope it doesn’t come back to haunt me

Thnx for the words of encouragement, I really needed it today did my weekly weigh in and only dwn 1lb! Ughhh…But the bright side of all this is,the inches are melting off I’ve lost 5.5 inches off my waist and I’m dwn 3 sizes…so if I look at the big picture, I’ve got to RELAX and let the surgery work.

That should be told to the revision patients, and maybe it is but it wasn’t told to me..If that would have been explained to me my expectations would be different.. “catwoman7” what is a virgin bypass?

To be honest with you I thought with the bypass it would fall off, not realistic huh.. lol my surgery date was on the 8th of Nov and I did not loose but about 7 or 8 lbs pre surgery. I didnt understand that either didn’t cheat or anything so this whole journey has really got me baffled

At least your surgeon told you I had to do my own research. Post surgery I came hime from the hospital heavy than I went in and in 2 weeks I had lost almost 25lbs then the 3rd, 4th, 5th no weight loss then the 6th week it started back REALLY slow I’m up to 35lb weight loss was expecting a lot more by now. I’ll keep an eye on it the next couple of weeks if nothing changes I’ll be speaking with my surgeon and my nutritionist immediately! Good luck your just getting started so don’t get discouraged

I had revision surgery on Nov.8th sleeve to bypass due to Gerd and a Hiliatal Hernia. After doing some research it suggest that revision patients tend to loose weight at a slower pace than other weight loss patients. Has anyone else heard that? I’ve lost a total of 35lbs since surgery and Tuesday will be 2 months.

I’ve heard the same thing. My surgeon said because our body has gone thru a weight loss surgery before, so it knows what to expect. I’m trying to remain positive and force myself to be more active in hopes it won’t be true. I’m almost two weeks post op and lost 16 lbs since surgery. I’m sure it’s mostly Water weight since I’m still on liquids.

For you start weight I think you are doing pretty great. Some will of lost for the amount of time, others may have lost more, its very individual as we are all different.
Set realistic goals and Celebrate your weight loss so far.

That's interesting. I didn't know that. Still, 35 pounds in 2 months sounds really good. Way to go!

Had a weight loss stall for 3 weeks at 3 weeks post op. Prior to stall in first 2 weeks I lost 25lbs and to date I’ve only lost 35lbs total. Getting worried. After the stall only lost a total of 4lbs and this week only 1lb , I would hate to have gone threw all this not to successfully loose weight!
