You know what, I totally get it, your mind is yet to catch up with your body and weight loss. You are obviously looking very different if the courts asked you to get a new driving license.

Take your time and trust the process, how about looking at some pictures of yourself from before and after and noting the changes mentally. You can keep this pics totally private.
    The best of luck x

Ngotsleeved got a reaction from GreenTealael in Periods (women only please)
    Hi all,
Hope you are all doing well.
I am 5 weeks post-sleeve and take the pill as contraception. I take this back to back and don't usually allow myself a period (this is totally safe).
For the past few days I have been experiencing heavy painful bleeds, do you think this has anything to do with the sleeve or weight loss?
Does the sleeve have any bearing on how medication (the pill in this case) is absorbed by the body?
I would appreciate any help/ advice!
    Thank you!!

Yes sure I agree, just wanted responses based on experience rather than mansplaining.

I have made the decision to avoid white potato, I did try sweet potato mash (I too am approx. 5 week out) and it went down like a lead balloon, I was in agony.
No potato for me, and to be honest, I don't really miss it.

OMG, I ended up with Covid in my second week, I know how you feel about being set back. My incisions and stomach started hurting again when I had covid and still aren't great now. I don't end isolation for another few days.

Thank God you are okay now, I am certainly on the mend though not out of isolation yet. The fatigue has been really awful, I was sleeping for days!

    Hi Charlotte!

amazing! They are a fab team and the nurses were amazing during recovery.

im doing really well now. I can eat anything in moderation. Still small portions but I’m really happy how it’s gone.
yes those first few months were certainly difficult, but remembering the end goal gets you through. Speak with the team if you have any concerns, I assume you have Jane as your dietician and she’s lovely and will help with any advice you need.
it’s all about changing your relationship with food, which took me a good few months. I felt i was missing out for a while, but now I can eat out with family, and I navigated Christmas well. I still enjoy food, but I have a different respect for it now.

just hold out and take your time and let your body tell you what it needs. Remember Vitamins and I also still take baricol for my B12 which Mr Sutton recommend.

I’m reaching 1000 calories on a good day but still have restricted days where my stomach just doesn’t allow anything so I stick to Protein Shakes.

Here’s a before and after. (I’ve lost another 6lb since the after photo)
i want to loose another 8lbs but it’s slow going now and just letting my body do it’s thing.

good luck in your journey! Any advice needed let me know.. loads of lovely people on here to chat to.

    xx

    Hi all,

I am new. I was sleeved in Turkey on December 20th.

Back home now and still thinking about food, I am putting this down to it being Christmas and there being so much in the house.

I am still sore from surgery but feel better every single day.
