  1. Hi all, Hope you are all doing well. I am 5 weeks post-sleeve and take the pill as contraception. I take this back to back and don't usually allow myself a period (this is totally safe). For the past few days I have been experiencing heavy painful bleeds, do you think this has anything to do with the sleeve or weight loss? Does the sleeve have any bearing on how medication (the pill in this case) is absorbed by the body? I would appreciate any help/ advice! Thank you!!

Hi, Hope you're well, welcome and great news about your surgery. You have to use a computer to collate that section, it is in the top right section where the dropdown under your username is - it took me ages to figure it out!

Hi, My Fitness Pal seems to be the most popular, I use it and it helps a lot.
  6. Surely if you are in a calorie deficit then you will continue to lose weight until you reach maintenance.

    Running nose

Do you think it is because you have a lowered immune system and a runny nose is your body's defence? Try taking Vit C.

    Periods (women only please)

You can identify as you wish and should be respected as such, however only cis women menstruate, not all cis women do but only cis women can.

Yes sure I agree, just wanted responses based on experience rather than mansplaining.

That is really helpful, I am thinking of getting the implant in my arm but ideally would not use anything hormonal.

    Potatoes 5 weeks out

I have made the decision to avoid white potato, I did try sweet potato mash (I too am approx. 5 week out) and it went down like a lead balloon, I was in agony. No potato for me, and to be honest, I don't really miss it.

Are you a member of the polar bear club?

I have always been a freezing cold person but when I got to my highest weight of 215.8lb I was always feeling hot, I was sweating loads and felt like I was always on fire. I am now down to about 190lb and I feel okay with a regulated temperature. I think as my weight decreases, this will change.
  15. I have found not being able to drink with my meals really difficult, I have always drunk with my food as a means to wash it down. Not being able to drink for 30 mins after my meals leave me feeling thirsty and as if my food is stuck - perhaps I need to chew a lot more. Drinking before a meal makes me feel fuller quickly but also make me feel as if my food is stuck and not going down because of the liquid in my stomach.

  19. Hi, I had my sleeve on Dec 20th so I am a little ahead of you, I have decided to stay on liquids an extra week as I just didn't feel ready, I have been nibbling on some cheese though. I don't feel that I am reaching my protein or water goals but doing my best, I don't feel hungry apart from in an evening but I think that is more habit as I was an evening snacker. I so get the feeling of wanting to chew!! You are doing well with your loss, keep hydrated though!
  20. Don't be disheartened, just trust the process, it will come off. Do try increasing your water and protein.
  21. Hi! Yes I managed to figure it out, I found that you need to use a laptop as opposed to your phone!

Absoloutely, I was sick once after having cottage cheese, put me off for life. I think I ate too quickly though, takes some getting used to but hopefully will become second nature!!

I have heard of Ispaghul, I will look into getting some or even some Fibregel. I guess the not eating and drinking is something I will acclimatise to. The other thing I am struggling with is pacing myself when I eat or drink, I forget to take breaks and that can be painful and leave me with feeling I have something stuck in my throat!

    Body dysphoria

You know what, I totally get it, your mind is yet to catch up with your body and weight loss. You are obviously looking very different if the courts asked you to get a new driving license. Take your time and trust the process, how about looking at some pictures of yourself from before and after and noting the changes mentally. You can keep this pics totally private. The best of luck x
