I can eat anything also, and I have lost 30 lbs since surgery which was on 11/24/21. I just make sure I eat low charbs and high Protein. I am hungry in-between meals also I will eat a popsicle or Jello helps with the cravings. Good luck

With all kindness, your doctor knows what to do. They are they experts. Follow their plan to a T. That is how you’ll lose the weight. I followed EXACTLY what my doctor told me to do 99% of the time. I’m over two years out, down 146 lbs, and easily maintaining my loss. I did it by developing new habits guided by my physician and her team.

Hot broth was amazing for savory cravings during pre-op. If he's making dinner, I'd try that. It's a tough period and you'll still be hungry but somethings something nice and salty instead of all the sweet stuff is a much needed reprieve. You'll be on the other side soon enough!

Yes its tough! My liquid preop started and ended on 10/24 till 10/31, unfortunately im the one who cooks, hubby didn't. So yes everyday i cheated with one meal during the preop diet. Had only Water, ate a very small meal, like a ham/cheese sandwich. Had chicken breast(eating clean) and lost 10lbs that week and had no problems during surgery. Now its very easy to cook, see everyone eat, doesnt bother me. But im 3 weeks post op and Hair loss settled in which is frustrating. Good luck, youre gonna rock this!

Hello everyone! So my surgery is scheduled for 11/24 a week away! I am now on the clear liquid diet. I am struggling, especially when husband has to cook and eat something. I try not to let him know it bothers me. I usually go in the office or bedroom to get away from smell. How do yall get past this?? Any suggestions??

Thanks! It is a struggle. Night time is harder cause my husband is home and he has to cook and eat. He told me I don't have to worry about cooking for him at this time so I don't get tempted! He is a great support. I have a different question how do I get that weight calculator on everyone's page?

The pre-op diet is the hardest part for some of us. Staying away at mealtimes helps. Also distracting yourself. Don't try to restrict your liquids, you can sip on broth or have clear Protein Drinks whenever you feel the need. sleep a lot if you can, LOL. If sugar-free Jello is allowed (it was for me), that can give the illusion of eating solid food.
And generally just hang in there! It's difficult but worth it in the end. Hugs. 🤗

The water struggle is REAL! My trick is incorporating it as a habit when I do anything. Get up from my desk? Sip water. Sit down to my desk? Sip water. Go to the bathroom? Sip water.

It becomes habitual enough that you can usually get enough in. Also, trying to get about 75% of your water before midday is a tip I've heard others share.

I had a gastric bypass in February of 2020. Since then, I have lost 150 pounds. I received notification about 2 weeks ago that my insurance approved my request for an abdominoplasty. I thought if I was approved, that it would only be approved for a panniculectomy and that I would need to pay the difference but because of some issues, they approved the full tummy tuck!! My surgeon initially scheduled me for February of next year but then called me last week with an opening for this Thursday! In just 2 days!

I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. I think I have everything I need but I wanted to ask if anyone had any recommendations or suggestions for me before I do this. I would really appreciate it!

Hello. I am one day post ByPass. 24 hours ago at this time I was taking deep breaths from a mask and waking up 4 hours later in PACU. I went to my room an hour after getting to PACU and started walking within the hour. I had little 1oz glasses of Water on a table next to my bed and started sipping. I didn’t drink enough last night but I did OK. Around 7PM all the Fluid I had gotten IV decided to start coming out. For the next ten hours I was up to the bathroom every 30 minutes. No real sleep last night.
I got a temp of 100.5 around 10PM. I got IV Tylenol. It seemed to go away this morning but it is a little concerning. I decided to avoid pain meds so I am sore but it is tolerable. I feel incredibly bloated and look forward to getting the gas out. No other real symptoms at this point. The residents said I will probably go home today but the surgeon hasn’t come yet. I feel like it is going well.

MrsCharbonnet reacted to mswillis5 in Am I done losing after 5 months?
My wife and I had surgery together almost 1 year ago. We lost almost lb for lb for the first 6 months. After 6 months I was almost done losing but she still had a bit more to go and she continued to lose. Her weight loss slowed down and then stalled for the past few months and just started moving again. Staying with the program that you have will help keep you on track. There will definitely be times where the weight falls off and then times where you are stuck at the same weight.
