I take BariatricPal Multivitamin ONE w/ Iron one capsule two times a day. I open the capsule, empty into mouth and just swallow with some liquid.

Vfls got a reaction from Arabesque in Cramping with almost every sip!
Pre-op I definitely had an issue with differentiation between head hunger and true hunger. The first day my body most certainly was not hungry; every sip felt like a stabbing pain. Head hunger hit the first day and that’s helped tremendously to keep identifying the differences. I feel my surgery has helped me truly feel the difference between the two. Now when I want something I stop and ask myself does my stomach want this ; if it says nothing I know it’s head hunger. Emotional eating I have seen is almost unconscious. I get upset and if I have something in front of me I just reach out and put in my mouth. Thank god I have to slowly swallow now to avoid pain as it’s given me the time to identify what I am doing and spit it out.
soo saying all that I believe I can safely assume her craving for an omelet is head hunger. If her stomach. Hurts that much, it probably doesn’t want an omelet.
    glad she is feeling better.

You don't need to 'clean your system.' Just return to plan, and stay with it.
Think of it this way, if you are walking a mile and trip and fall after 1/4 mile, you don't need to go back to the starting line. You just get back up and resume walking.
    Good luck,

that's a pretty standard medication for the first few months after weight loss surgery. I think I had to take it for six months. It doesn't ENSURE you won't get gallstones, but it cuts the risk of getting them pretty considerably.

This might be such a silly thing to worry about so please forgive me.
I'm 3 weeks post-op vsg, and on softfoods. I was so excited to eat something soft that yesterday, I tried a few things in my fridge. I guess my stomach didn't agree with the combination or amount, and it all came back up fiercly. It's now the next day and my stomach, which previously was feeling much better, now is very tender. I know this started because of the puking, I could feel the pain when my stomach would contract. I'm just worried about why it would STILL be so sore.
Has this happened to anyone else? It's really worrying me. Can I do damage to my sleeve from just puking?

Agree on not stocking up. I bought 6 cases of different Premier Protein shakes and now I do not like them. Blech! Spent last week returning them and ones I can’t I am giving to a friend going on the 2 week pre op liver shrink diet. I can handle sweet it’s just some artificial sweeteners I do not like. I still am fine with Stevia so I can have a Lilly’s Peanut Butter cup. But truthfully I now really love spices in everything. I have a new weird love for cumin. I enjoy it so much I can eat it by the teaspoon alone.

Thanks all, just looking for some peace, I can’t stand to see her hurting, but you are right, she is doing a little better each day. She is really missing eating right now. Told me this morning that she would kill for an omelet, lol.

I'm thrilled for you that you now fit the seatbelts. However, no one should ever be ashamed or embarrassed to request a seat-belt extender. Just tell the attendant as you get on the plane. It will be very discretely delivered to you. Flying without a seatbelt is very dangerous.

Vfls reacted to Sheribear68 in Let's talk about body dysmorphia
Loving this thread so far and I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s answers.

I can completely relate to body dysmorphia. I had always run from cameras and on the rare occasions where I had no option but to be in pictures, I was horrified at how large I looked.
I too would look at people that I just knew were “bigger” than me only to discover I weighed more and wore a bigger clothes size.

Lol, one day I was seeing plus size models in an ad and realized they were wearing clothes THREE SIZES smaller than my current size.

Now that I’m approximately halfway to my goal weight, I’m seeing myself as the size I kinda thought I always was in my brain, so I don’t know what to think about that.
I still feel as if current pictures of me are “larger” than how I feel inside, but I’m still 50-ish pounds away from goal weight so hopefully someday I actually look as small as I feel.

My all-time high weight was 272 a few years ago. When I started pre-surgery stuff I was 259 and I’m currently 195 after being sleeved February 6th this year.
I’m 5’7” and have a goal weight of between 140-145.
Started off as a size 22 and now can fit into size 16s.

Welcome to ketosis. Stronger body odour, bad breath, smelly urine, etc. are renowned side effects of ketosis. It’s like all our natural body secretions suddenly reek. We want to be burning fat but it’s a shame the side effect can be quite offensive. Regularly apply deodorants, pop breath fresheners, shower more regularly. I purchased some body wipe towelettes so I could freshen up a little in the toilet at work.

Tons of readymade shakes. Find them in the grocery, cvs, target, Walmart, also on Amazon. Thing is do not buy many for after surgery. I bought 6 cases. Now post surgery I find them tooo sweet, yuk. So I have 6 cases I can’t use.

Good Gastric sleeve works, bad about sleeve and HH is the first couple of days are painful. The sleeve made it so I felt everything I swallowed, some stuff hit stomach like a knife. HH caused deep breaths to hurt and the hiccups were super painful, only good thing about HH is the hiccup was usually one isolated and the pain went away . The sleeve pain improvement has increased every day. I just had sleeve 10/21. By day 4 with lots of walking those other days I started to feel human. Now Day 8 I feel great, a little stinky but feel great. You are going to be so happy with your surgery I know I am.

Vfls reacted to The Greater Fool in 5 days post op bypass and I ate half a cookie
It means you are five days post-op and ate half a cookie without any physical discomfort or dumping symptoms. If you feel bad about it perhaps you should not do it again, but that's about it. It doesn't say anything about the future, if you dump, or on what.
I dump on sugar and fats, often pretty easily. I can eat a cookie or a small piece of candy without dumping. Though, I don't find Cookies or candy particularly appealing anymore because on too many occasions one has lead to two or three which then lead to dumping.
    Good luck,

it slows down as time goes on. Once I got to within 20 lbs or so of a normal BMI, it slowed to a crawl - like 2 lbs a month.

Vfls reacted to blackcatsandbaddecisions in Coffee
I had a nonfat latte with one shot in it three days post op. Once I was able to drink larger amounts of liquid I restarted my morning latte (two shots of espresso and steamed fairlife milk). A few days a week I have a cup of black coffee in the afternoon as well. I’m 2.5 months postop.

Never any issues, helps me get my Protein in, and is my big “treat” per day. My MD never really had an issue with coffee one way or the other- or if he did I must have blocked that messaging out or something haha.
