    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

I totally understand this thread! I’m 4 weeks post op and that first week it was so painful to drink. Like fluids would hit my stomach and my abdomen would seize and scream in pain. I actually ended up getting readmitted a week later because of dehydration. I just couldn’t get enough in and take the pain.

People and their comments pre and post wls

I started my journey in July of 2020 with a determined goal to lose weight on my own prior to surgery. I'm 5 days post-op and have shared my journey through social media. My support has been amazing, EXCEPT for one individual that I finally private messaged and then publicly corrected when she continued with her comments. You see, I decided to set a goal of losing 100lbs through lifestyle changes prior to surgery because I didn't want to endure surgery and then have an even harder struggle on the other side trying to adapt to a new lifestyle. Now all I'm dealing with is one "Karen" and an annoyingly slow healing process. lol This person continues to comment that if I did so well on my own why I even bothered with surgery, clearly I didn't need it. Then went on to assume that I must be on an insurance plan that paid for it since I did it without any care in the world. People's comments reflect their own insecurities. While my nagging person has chosen a different angle than your naggers, they all seek the same purpose: to get you before you might get them. What they don't realize is that you aren't in a mindset to "get them" at all. I could block my nagger, but I don't. You could avoid yours . . . but maybe you haven't. Stand tall, prove to yourself that you are the best version of you in the moment. Those naggers need to see your success so they can make changes in their own lives.

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Two weeks!?! For bypass? Wow. I had the sleeve and work a high stress job in mental health and had to beg to go back in two weeks. My surgeon requires 4-6 weeks off.

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Hi Folks! Today I am 5 days post op (Sleeve on 10/1). I was discharged Sunday night, reluctantly, but discharged I was. Fluid intake was and still has been difficult. While my abdominal area heals and my stomach inflammation goes down, introducing liquid is painful. When I say it’s a JOB to meet the 60g Protein/64oz Fluids goal I’m not lyin! Where’s my check!?!? Lol The gas has finally started moving and thank the lord I managed a poop 🤷🏽‍♀️ Today. Everyday gets a little easier. The more I get up and move the more I see improvements. I don’t have a ton of energy yet, but I know it’ll come. Those prepping or you fortunate ones with very little prep, keep your head in the game. Nerves are normal and this is about taking care of YOU. Sure, there will be moments when you wonder “what in the **** did I do!?!”, but it’s a scattered thought and won’t stick around. I was a nervous comedian down to the last drop of happy juice that knocked me out. I had the entire OR Prep floor rolling. My husband kept telling me to shut up because me on drugs is NSFW. 😂😂😂 Anyway … good luck. And quick question. Anyone else find it easier to sleep sitting up post op? If so, how long did it last? Picture of 3 of my 4 pups at my side since I got home.

Engagement photos and my health was awful. I committed that day to do something about it. I had already had a consult about surgery and made a deal with myself. I needed to make the changes NOW and lose 100lbs on my own before surgery to prove to myself I was going to do this and do it right.

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Hey Folks! I’m 1 day post-op for the sleeve. I lost 121lbs on my own as a personal goal leading up to surgery and now the healing stages begin. I'm definitely uncomfortable, but my pain is being managed while I’m here at the hospital. I haven’t progressed to anything beyond drinking water yet as the inflammation is causing my stomach to be very painful with intake still. Everyone’s journey is different, but I certainly wanted to hop on and share a little of what mine is going like. It’s getting better, just a bit slower on the healing side of things than I had hoped.

So is mine!!! I’m just sitting here waiting for them to call with my arrival time and trying not to chew off all my finger nails.

    October surgery friends??

I’m having the sleeve and hernia repair done this Friday 10/1! I wasn’t nervous until probably a few days ago. The 3 week liquid diet has kept me pre-occupied with misery. Lol. I know it’s for the right reason, I’m just over the same flavors for so many days. Well, and I’d like to chew again. I’m in Wisconsin.

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Hi Everyone! my name is Chenon and I’m in Wisconsin. I’m set for 10/1 to have the sleeve procedure. I made a deal with myself that I needed to make the changes first for a year and then do the surgery. So I did … and list 125lbs in the last 16 months! Even so, this 2 week all liquid diet is legit killing me. I struggled at first, then I was traveling and that was a different kind of beast, now I’m home and my family eats yummy stuff, but not me.
