Oh no! Well if it’s any consolation I’m trying to regrow my lettuce from the stalk. If it works (and is fairly easy) I’ll let you know if that may be an option.

140g eye fillet steak, cup of salad made up of baby spinach leaves, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and crumbled feta cheese. Small baked potato. If I am honest I should have stopped after the steak but had some salad for fibre 😁 the sauce is knorrs bernaise sauce very naughty but yummy.

Sounds like it could be an hormonal issue, that is. assuming you are not experiencing dryness anywhere else (mouth, eyes, nose, skin). In any event it may be worthwhile checking in with your doctor to check it out.
I don't know your age but is it possible that perimenopause could be the issue?

    Hello,
I am having surgery tomorrow (June 13th) and was going over all my paperwork to make sure I do everything correctly. When I went to look at the appointment in my Dr's patient portal, I discovered that instead of being laparoscopic, I am having robotic hiatal hernia/gastric sleeve surgery. This is fine as I told my Dr ( who I researched and have had friendss use him with wonderful results) to do whatever he feels is best. I have a copay and my insurance is paying everything else.
My question has anyone else had robotic surgery? I have been reading up on it and it sounds pretty cool. I also watched a youtube video on it...looks like the Dr is playing a video game tbh. LOL

SleeverSk got a reaction from Arabesque in Almost 8 weeks post op, when can I eat certain foods ?
I found flat breads don't sit well with me but everyone is different, so it feels uncomfortable in my stomach and my stomach made lots of noise and gurgling. I love minced (ground) chicken its so soft and easy to eat like minced (ground) beef.
I haven't tried rice yet to be honest and I wasn't a big rice eater anyway, Pasta is pretty much the same as flat breads for me so I also avoid that.
Salads are good but I think I was 5 or 6 months out when I tried them.

ok ssooooo I am in a Facebook group that has lots of veterans in it and one made this comment to me today and it makes sense.
"its only considered a stall if you have lost no weight for 6 consecutive weeks."
She stated that this is what her surgical team have told her and few others agreed, I kind of agree with her because I did think calling a few days or a week or 2 of no weight loss a stall especially straight after surgery was a bit soon because your body does need time to heal and adjust.
this is how the comment came about,
someone had posted about not losing weight after week 2 they were now in week 4 I chimed in and said oh yes don't worry its call the week 3 stall, there are numerous post about it in the forum I am in blah blah blah thinking I was giving good advise only to be shot down in flames. so yeah its interesting how people have a different view on what a stall is, I like this one 6 weeks no loss because your body does need time to adjust and we all know that even though the scales dont move the inches can so that needs to be considered too because you are still losing its just in inches not on the scales.

I think burgers are okay if they are made a home from lean beef. And either without bread or on a thin low carb roll. I can eat a whole one but my husband makes it on the grill and it’s on the small side. Anyways, I think lizonaplane has a good suggestion to try medications if you are still struggling.

Shift work is the absolute devil - do you do it all the time? Anyway - one day's slip up means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the grand scheme of things @SleeverSk Just get back on the horse tomorrow. You've learned something (that slider foods do slide down REALLY nicely) and you will use that moving forwards until you reach goal - the goal that YOU want to reach. We all have better days and worse days - look at what you have achieved over the last 10 months - unbelievable.

Slip ups happen to everyone. I found I could no longer work nights anymore. As soon as I stopped, 10lbs came off and stayed off. Melatonin and cortisol levels get all mixed up, I think we all know this at this point. I kept the snacking limited by eating “breakfast” at midnight. I prepared healthier Snacks that didn’t trigger a binge, and left all money and bank cards at home, even deactivated the Apple Pay. Best of luck!

Unfortunately the binge slope is a very slippery one. Once you start, it can go down hill fast. I know from experience! So it's best not to start in the first place. I know it's hard to do because unfortunately WLS does NOT prevent returning to old habits. Don't beat yourself up. Bad days are going to happen.

Your weight can fluctuate by a couple pounds. Weighing in the same clothes (or lack thereof) and at the same time of day with an empty bladder will produce the closest weight but tiny fluctuations will still occur sometimes.

I was just talking to a friend about this the other day, A friend of hers would barely look at me in the past if I saw her in the shops etc ( small town ) anyway the other day she went out of her way to say hi to me twice in one day and I said to my friend is that because I am not fat now ? Its sad really that people are like this I hope I am not one of them.

    Mmmm Twisties.
As a nurse that works long hours you need fuel to get you through the night. Plan some good Snacks. Ones that make you feel good on the outside and good on the inside. You have put your body in a much better place by your persistence and hard efforts. You are a star at doing this.

😢 So the local show is on (fair for those in the US) and I started out good, I had a dagwood dog ate 3/4 threw the rest away, had a small cup of soft serve ice cream with choc- sherbet topping didn't finish it. Now this is where I fell down bought 2 yes 2 pizzas to take to work with me (nightshift) only ate half of one over the course of a 12 hour shift BUT ate a whole packet (big) of twisties , a litre of coke, a cupcake, a slice of ice-cream cake (left over from someone's birthday) 2 sausages (left over from BBQ) and 100g caramel coated popcorn and not once did I feel full 😧.
jumped on the scales today, 69 gone hello 70 😭Now I am trying to not beat myself up over it but gee its hard to stop when you start down that slope of mindless eating. I know we all slip up none of us are perfect and now I am telling myself Just because you can doesnt mean you should. I cant believe I drank the coke as I ate the twisties without an issue didn't feel bloated or anything 🤔and a whole packet OMG. I get what you were saying now Sleevdiva2022. I was thinking darn it come on sleeve kick in and stop me from doing this lol.
Tonight ( nightshift again) hasn't started off any better. Thank goodness the pizza I bought wasn't very nice or I feel I might have finished it off tonight. I hate nightshifts that aren't busy I am always wanting to eat from boredom.

Be careful with nuts. They’re often not allowed for a couple of months. Check your plan first.

Yep, the acid in tomatoes can be a bit harsh to begin. Were you prescribed a PPI after surgery (Nexium or Prilosec, etc.)? Many are. Any over the counter antacids should work if the heart burn is mild. Otherwise just avoid tomatoes for a little while.

it's probably the tomatoes in the Pasta Sauce. I had issues with those the first few months (and still do, occasionally). I'd just start with some over-the-counter thing like Tums or some magnesium-based antacid. As far as home remedies, I know one person who swears by mixing a spoonful of baking soda in a class of Water and drinking that..

Be mindful about what you eat. Definitely consult your Dr and if your nutritionist isn't helping you maybe consider looking for a second opinion. Weigh your food like you said you are and only eat that and have Water most of the day. I know this feels stressful but the stress will cause you to fall back into old habits especially if you're an emotional eater. Take a deep breath and make sure you are keeping a food journal and stay under your calorie intake. You got this!

    @SleeveDiva2022.
One word: Perspective. You’ve lost 26 net lbs in 6 weeks. That is a good amount. The glory of losing 15 lbs a week those 2 first weeks is just not sustainable. You were actually above the curve those first weeks. But really, it all evens out in the end for everyone. So long as we stick to plan and make intelligent adjustments along the way, we’ll lose weight. And yes, some at faster/slower rates than others.
I know it probably feels like its over and that this is all the weight you are destined to lose, but frankly its just not true (if u stick to it). And basically impossible (so long as u stick to it).
So another word for you as well: Patience.
    Good Luck! ❤️

Homemade burgers. I was told I can since I'm a couple of days from 6 weeks out. I don't eat fries or Pasta or breads or any of that. I don't eat sweets. I drink black tea, green tea, Protein Water, my Protein Shake in the morning (has caffeine), sugar free juice, flavored water.

As @ms.sss said it all evens out. You lost a large amount to begin then nothing with your stall but your average is still 4lbs a week. This is a great rate of loss. You should be jumping for joy.
Don't worry about small gains. We all have a natural fluctuation. We women gain & lose just with hormonal fluctuations & Fluid retention that actually have nothing to do with our true weight & how much fat we’re carrying. Plus our bodies can be just weird & react unexpectedly. Two weeks ago I literally peed every 30-60minutes all day long & peed a lot overnight. I felt like ever drop of fluid in my body was gone yet got on the scales the next morning & weighed a pound more. I should have weighed at least a pound or two less.
Our weight loss graph is never a straight line. It zigs & zags up & down but as long as the general tend is in a downward direction you’re doing fine.
PS - have to admit I imaged you eating a giant loaded burger at first too. 😁
