I have gastritis and GERD, plus I had to have several biopsies because my stomach is full of different kinds of polyps. I have to have 3 more endoscopies to remove them all. I was told I have to have a revision to bypass because the polyps are coming from the gerd and gastritis. So once all the polyps are removed, then we go in and do the bypass.

Thank you for sharing, the reason I ask is last

  2. I had a about of hunger induced anxiety today, it's hard to pick and even my friend who is naturally slim and eats little mentioned she had anxiety but we made a connection between when she hasn't eaten and anxiety. It's actually very interesting how our blood sugar level can mimic anxiety.

I have to thank you so much, apparently you were godsend and life saver. Because of you I went to the ER. When they did my gastric bypass, they found a Heidel hernia. When they corrected this item, it caused a pneumothorax and air trapped around my heart, all extremely life threatening. Also the swelling in my face, neck and chest is due to trapped air that they call rice crispies 🤣. Apparently this is extremely rare, but I want to make people aware this can happen. I'm currently in ICU with a chest tube, waiting to figure out what they are going to do with my heart.

I am so glad you got treatment in time. Wishing you a speedy and full recovery ❤

I'm 3 days post op and I have major swelling in my face and neck and my voice is extremely nasal. Just curious has anyone had this problem? Not anything I anticipated.

Go to the ER if you haven't already, you maybe having an allergic reaction to something. Major swelling in face and especially your neck is something that needs urgent medical attention.

i've never tried marmite, but have had vegemite (and really, really, really, tried hard to like it!, i swear') when we spent time in brisbane.

if marmite is anything like vegemite, its gonna be a hard pass from me.

though i feel like i could like it if used in like stews or gravies or marinades or something.

    anyone try that?

Yes, Vegemite, Marmite and promite are all great additions to meaty stews , Soups and casseroles. They all taste similar but slightly different my pick of the 3 is promite, on hot toast lots of real butter and a smidge of promite

  6. In hind sight I would say the longer you leave it to try to eat carbs and other foods and drinks (carbonated) that can cause weight issues the better. I was eager to " test" foods out early on and discovering I could eat and drink them easily with no issues slowed/stopped my weight loss earlier than it should have. I feel if I had have not tried them and went longer without them I would have had a better result.

So i had my ultrasound today due to a elevated bilirubin levels. Ultrasound came back good. No stones, nothing at all. So i am guessing next up i will have something called a HIDA scan which they inject me with this radioactive stuff and watch it flow with the gamma cameras. That will be fun... NOT lol.

I will be interested to see what that shows. I had one and it came back that I had a MASS in my stomach and the back of my esophagus the radiologist wasn't sure if it was scar tissue from the surgery so I was referred back to my surgeon and he said it was however I am not sure he even saw the images but he said most likely scar tissue. it has been bothering me since then as the radiologist wanted an endoscope done but this hasn't been ordered by my GP because the surgeon said it was scar tissue. so yeah I am keen to know what other people's scans have shown

I don't know what you're eating and when from your post but I just wanted to let you know that I have never, EVER been able to go to bed hungry, so if this is your problem I feel you. No matter what crackpot diet I was on throughout my life, I needed to save calories to eat for supper. I still do. Normally something filling but not calorific like porridge (oatmeal) with fruit, or even sometimes Soup.

Don't punish yourself for feeling what you feel - PLAN FOR IT would be my advice. Good luck on the rest of your journey. 😍

I don't think it's about going to bed hungry as I am sure all of us night time / afternoon snackers will agree we aren't hungry we just have this urge to put something in our mouths 😔 and something that tastes yummy. It's a struggle 😪
