  1. I'm in the same boat as you, my weight is regain at an alarming rate. To those who say don't weigh yourself everyday it was weighing everyday that kept my weight in check
  2. I experienced the same as what has been said, was perimenopausal with very irregular periods, then for the last 2 years I have had normal regular periods, they have just started going into perimenopausal irregularity and hot flushes have returned I am 2.5 years post op. Having said that 5 weeks of bleeding is not normal by any standard I think it's time to go see your doctor
  3. I would be going to your doctor or the ER
  4. I would say no to the anxiety mine actually increased for awhile but it depends on what actually causes your anxiety, the anxiety i had about going out to places that required dressing up (not jeans and a shirt) well i just didnt go but now i enjoy going out . So I some cases it has improved thyroid not sure that would be a question for your Dr.

    Let's Talk About Maintenance

I'm less hungry and eat less than before surgery but hungrier and can eat more than up to 12 months post surgery

    Let's Talk About Maintenance

Do you mean before surgery or sometime after surgery?

    Sandwiches and chips

goodness me I should take my own advice!!!!! UGH having bread and hot chips way to often these days, it's a slippery slope people stay away from "indulgent foods" as long as you can. I am battling the steady weigh gain train now

    Let's Talk About Maintenance

I guess there are 2 sides of the coin when it comes to maintenance it didn't even occur to me that losing to much would be an issue but obviously it is. for some. I am in the cant keep it off category. I'm back in my mindless nibbling from the fridge 100 times a day habit

You are so right, here in Australia dr's surgeries are run like a money-making enterprise not health care providers, you get 5 mins max in the office and dare you want to address more than 1 issue regardless of if the symptoms could be related you have to make another appointment. its 1 symptom per visit. How is that providing good health care and getting a full picture of what's going on with someone?
  11. well, if it was me, I would be indulging in higher calorie foods but obviously don't overdo it. allow yourself a few little luxuries like pasta and bread if you can handle them.

New to this and facing anger

it's a good thing you are going through the anger now and not after surgery as it seems so much worse then, the benefits certainly outweigh the bad. but in time normally around the 12 months to 2-year mark you will wonder where your restriction has gone and long for the early days post-surgery. you will be able to eat your fav foods just don't overdo it and make the most of the early post op days as the past very quickly. I thought I would never eat normally ever again and that I would never enjoy food again, but I did, and I can, and you will too.
