  1. I love that you say normal size portions, I am in a Facebook sleevers group and they tend to make anyone that can eat more than a few mouthfuls at a time like a failure which has left me feeling like I don't have the restriction I should have for example the other day I was away from home so had to eat take away, I got a Bacon deluxe you know just to test the water see how it went, I ate the whole thing bar the last bit of bun 😬 I didn't know whether to be happy or devastated as someone posted they had half a cheese burger and got smashed for it some of the comments were oh I am 6 years out and no way would have been able to eat more than half etc etc. So to hear you say we should/ can eat a normal sized serving is music to my ears.Thank you
  2. So many of us feel like this, I was a complete mess ( feel free to go to my profile and read my early posts) it gets better though I am now 7 months out I still have days where I don't feel so great about my decision but I have come along way from where you are now. Be kind to yourself, do other things or find new things to enjoy. ((Hugs))

    Acid Reflux

You could try splitting your meds into 20mg morning and 20 mg night. I found the first 6 to 8 weeks the worst for reflux. After that things settled down. Or another option nexium in the morning and somax at night

    Sandwiches and chips

I think both of you are trying things way to early, take it slow it's not good for your healing tummy to be forcing these types of foods in this early. Wait until the 6 month mark at least and really even then they are sometimes foods if at all. I loved hot chips and sandwiches too but they are now sometimes foods. Mmmmm nothing better than a fresh bakery bread butter and hot chip sandwich ..........aahhhh 🥪 I still haven't attempted to eat one yet. It's won't benefit your weight loss either to return to your old eating habits and yes it is hard I still struggle with what to eat but we will all get there.
  5. Interesting read, which makes me wonder at the very start of my weight loss I plunged head first into what seemed menopause and was given estrogen patches... wouldn't this overload me if my body was releasing hormones

    Indigestion? Gastritis?

So glad you went to the ER, it just goes to show as well meaning our advice is, it's always best to get checked out by a Dr. Wishing you all the best going forward

    Indigestion? Gastritis?

Are you on reflux medication? Most people are for the first 6 months after surgery
  8. Sadly it's normal for a lot of people and something the surgeons don't warn us about. It's great you already have a therapist you will need them. I felt like this and worse for about 4 to 5 months I cried multiple times a day, but I got through it and you will too ❤❤

    Eating

Sauce, gravy, salad dressings are a must in the early stages I am 6 months out and I still make sure my food is moist from the addition of sauces. My dietician also told me to do thisc
  10. I forgot to mention, the pain in the left side. I had pain there too my surgeon said it was most likely my spleen as sometimes it can get unsettled or brushed during surgery. I don't have that pain any more but obviously let your surgeon know just Incas it is something that needs to be checked out
  11. Totally agree a small tin of the high protein and calcium tuna mixed with Mayo on cruskitswere a staple of mine too, kids yoghurt pouches were great too as the consistency is thinner. It so easy to forget what it was like and what we survived on once you get past the hard times.which I guess is a good thing
  12. Hi Kurt, I know how you feel I spent 7 weeks curled up in a ball on my sisters couch feeling like was/ wanted to die. I couldnt/ didn't want to eat or drink. If you go back through my old posts you will see how bad I was feeling. Just try to eat and drink what you can. I couldn't have shakes either because of they way they effected me. I lived on KFC mash potato and gravy then a few chicken nuggets. I was drinking protein water to get my protein in but at this stage don't worry about calories etc because seriously the tiny amount you are eating it's not going to matter. Could your vitamins be causing you issues I know mine did. I also found when I ate later in the evening I felt better in the morning. 1 night a had a maccas sundae and felt amazing the next morning so good in fact I had breakfast. I also found I felt the worst in the mornings and normally struggled to get anything in. I did seek out a psychologist which helped but I think it's just a time thing trust me it gets better. Hope you feel better soon ((hugs)) oh about the 4-5 month mark is when I started to feel better and yes I cried multiple times a day during that period going back to work helped me a lot too got me back into my routine. Ok I will shut up now but feel free to reach out

    EXTREMELY Late Period

maybe you are entering peri- menopause, My periods were all over the place before surgery up to 6 months between then monthly for 6 six months then another big gap. Had a period immediately after surgery after a 6 month gap then fell face first into hot flushes mood swings etc , I thought righto menopause, got onto patches as I just couldn't cope with the surgery recovery and menopause fast forward 4 months and i have had 2 periods but yes all over the place ............ so much fun going through this 😜
  14. yes, all pretty normal but you might have to consider going to hospital for IV fluids if you are having a hard time getting fluids in. you really don't want to get to the point of being rushed to hospital because you have collasped
  15. I had GERD also, had the sleeve as surgeon said weight loss would help it. 6 months out its hasn't got worse it seems to be better still on meds working to come off them
  16. make sure you get adequate rest between workout days most people train 3 days rest 1, you will be able to gain muscle and tone up nicely providing you train correctly. you will need to lift the heaviest weight you can to build muscle and get that nice muscle definition, I would assume your gym would have someone there to guide you with this. It will take about 3 months for you to notice changes

    Gastric bypass sleeve

people will have pros and cons for both, talk to your surgeon and see what they say. I had reflux before surgery and many said a sleeve would make it worse, my surgeon said he believed it would resolve after surgery due to the weight loss I am 6 months out and haven't had any more issues than I had previously in fact less. I am to scared to go off my meds for it just yet but I hope in time I can do that. the reason I am telling you this is because reflux seems to be a reason people don't go for the sleeve
  19. I am sure you are not, what do your measurements show ? as increasing muscle mass can cause the scales not to move or move in the wrong direction, mean while you are still loosing fat
  20. if you have increased your exercise you may also have increased muscle mass which could be why the scales aren't moving even though you still could be loosing fat

    Drinking water gets tiring! 😪

no thank goodness, this caused me distress early on too but thanks goodness i can drink a whole lot more now and easily most days, still have days like today where i just dont feel like drinking. I add a dash of anything to my water to make it sit better and also dissolving vitamin tabs are a good addition
