  1. Hello all. I hope you are all doing well. I am 4 weeks post op and on softs now. However, everything that I eat gets me super nauseous. I don’t know what it is. I’m staying in the guidelines of what I can and can’t eat, but I am miserable. I haven’t really lost any weight, but I do see the inches disappearing. Has this happened to anyone? What advice can you give because I am getting very depressed?

  2. Hello all. I am new to this forum. I am 18 days postop and struggling to get my Protein Shakes. Prior to surgery…nonissue. Now any dairy causes me to go to the bathroom. I assume this is normal due to the rapid dumping from stomach to intestines. Has anyone found any tolerable non dairy Protein? How did you get your protein in postop? Also… I was home on FMLA for 2 weeks postop. Felt great so I went back to work Tuesday. Now for the past two nights I’ve had some left sided flank pain. What could it be? This happen to anyone else?

  4. Hey friends. I had my surgery this morning. So far…so food. I’m having abdominal and surgery pain; which is to be expected. I’ve been walking and doing the incentive spirometer. Im staying overnight in the hospital. Im very tired, but happy. I started my life today!

For those who had the surgery, how are you doing? Those going to have surgery…food luck!

  5. I am so ready to get started. I have family coming into town for Christmas. So I am going to enjoy myself and enjoy the family time. I am actually going to start my full liquid diet January 1,22. I figure why wait 4 days. I’m just going to do it. I am trying out different shakes, yogurts, and puddings now. I am very texture oriented. So this will be interesting.

For those who work… how much time are you planning on taking off for recovery?

awesome! January 4th can't come soon enough for me. I have been hesitant to take this step for the longest time, but once i decided, I was so ready. I'm even looking forward to the pre-diet. so happy for you! Good luck!

I am actually kind of nervous for the pre-op diet because I have to work while doing it.

  7. Hey everyone. It’s the holidays and I have to admit I kind of lot my mind a little. I actually went home for then holidays and alot of my favorite foods the had. I don’t feel like I over indulged at one time. However, I do feel really guilty. I was doing so well. I have my surgery scheduled on Jan 18 and start pre-op diet Jan 4. I had people say enjoy myself, but I feel so bad. I don’t know if I gain alit of weight, but I feel like I’ve gained some. Is anyone else going through this?

    thanks. Ty.

I used Tricare as well. They paid all but 158 dollars! Good luck to you. I am down 64 pounds in just less than 3 months and at my lowest weight in 18 years!

Thank you so much. $158…. I’ll take it …lol. I am looking forward to becoming healthy. Also… keep up the work. People say WLS is the easy way out…Ha! If they only realized what’s involved with it.

  9. I am beyond excited. I have received approval from Tricare and my surgery date is January 18,2021. I am so ready to start living. I am planning on taking 3 weeks off work. I work in the hospital and do not want to go back until I am at least on soft. I do a lot of moving, pushing, pulling, and running to operate on liquids.

I am anticipating on going on the liquid pre-op diet January 3rd. So BP friends…give some tips to get me through the additional waiting?

P.S. I am hoping that some additional days open sooner and I can be moved up.
