OK, this starts with a joke I heard once a very long time ago, from a Reader's Digest, I think.
One lady (on scale) to another: I'm trying to get down to what I never thought I'd be over!
I just did. 132 lbs. YAY me!!

Hubby picked me up yesterday without any trouble and then proceeded to tell me that I need to be more careful not to be obducted. 😅😄😄😄 He is legit scared someone is going to just pick me up and steal me. I was shocked because truthfully I have never been concerned someone would steal me, ever. But now the hubby is seriously worried about it, guess it's time for a self defense class 🤣. His worry melts my heart and makes me smile lol.

Hello. Sorry I've only just seen this. Yes it did resolve thankfully. I ended up in hospital 3 times but at the 8 week mark I got alot better. Focus on getting liquids first because I ended up really dehydrated. I remember thinking what have a done to myself and really regretting it. Now I'm 9 stone lighter and it was the best decision I have ever made. Any doubts make an appointment with your doctor for help with anti nausea medication. I was on it for a while but I don't use it anymore. It really helped at the time though.

I have had the nausea for a long time. Ask the doc for a prescription. If the dosage isn't enough, tell him. I had mine upped several times.

I have a TMI "negative victory." I realize that's an oxymoron, but I'm serious.
    Sex hurts.
My husband is rather well endowed and since I'm losing some butt fat, he is bottoming out and it KILLS. Gonna have to start doing squats to build my back end up with muscle instead of fat, so it restricts his motion again 🤦‍♀️
Told him just to shave an inch off and we'll be fine ... he didn't appreciate that. 🤣

MY MAMA SAID...(God rest her soul, she's been gone almost 20 years) Anyway, Mama said that men do not want you to change. Subconsciously, they don't want you prettier, they want you less attractive to others. Over the years, I have...noticed...that she tended to be right, whether it was weight, a haircut, even clothing. Just saying, food for thought.

oldandtired got a reaction from SuziDavis in Hair is starting to thin a bit
I'm older, have alway had thin hear, so it is more os an issue for me. I thought I had dodged the bullet until last month. It fell like rain! It may have been my reluctance to take my Vitamin, due to all the nausea I had. Know the song "I'm a believer"? You betcha those Vitamins go down now. And the Hair loss has slowed down, and it is coming back in...

Iv'e had BOTh the ruen-y bypass surgery that was successful FOR over 10 years, after having a baby, gaining weight back and having Vitamin deficiency issues I had a revision to a gastric sleeve. The sleeve has been a joke, there is no stopping me from over eating sweets or fried foods, I was sick when I ate those things with a ruen-y. I had an upper gi last week (I am 7 years post op of revision) Dr says my stomach looks like any other non surgery stomach he sees. So much for my surgery dr saying stomachs dont stretch.
1.Ruen-y is more evasive but it keeps you from eating sweets/fried foods without becoming so ill you have to lay down for 2 hours. (not dangerous, just very uncomfortable)
2.If you have weight loss surgery be SURE to have Lipo suction after you've lost most of y our weight. Once you grow a fat cell you NEVER loose it unless you have it removed by having lipo suction or cool sculpting. A fat cell will lay flattened until you have extra calories that need stored then they pop right up. Get rid of them b&&*$ right away, you can still grow more cells if you over eat but it takes time to grow them new, old cells are like little saboteurs waiting to fill up again.
    3. If you don't like aerobic activity try chill-aerobics. Sit somewhere cold.. shiver and ur body burns fat. 15 min. of shivering equals 30min,. of aerobic activity. Your body will burn fat to try and warm you up. (it's actually opposite in a polar bears body)

I had my yearly pulmonologist appt. the other day. I've been seeing him for about 10 years, since I got diagnosed with asthma. I had suspected I had it for a long time before that, but when I got up to almost 400 pounds it got a lot worse. That year I was sick 10 months out of the year. It was awful.
Well, at this appointment the other day he said my lung function is better than normal for a woman my age (51). Like, WAY better than normal, and he doesn't need to see me anymore unless I have a problem. He also took me off my controlling inhaler with the long acting brochodilator in it and put me on a regular one that is just a steroid. I had originally had to go on the one with the brochodilator because we couldn't get my asthma under control with just a steroid.
Actually, I love this doctor and he's the best doctor I've ever had so I will miss him, but I'm so happy. I NEVER knew the impact my weight was having on my ashtma until I lost the weight. I just can't believe how much better I feel. I can't believe after struggling to get it under control for a long time, now it's like I don't even have asthma. It's amazing!

oldandtired reacted to AboutDangTime in iOS Medication Reminder
For those of you with an iPhone, the new update (iOS 16) has added medication reminders native to the iPhone. You can find it in the Health app. If you own an Apple Watch as well, the reminders go right to your wrist.
I know that there are other apps that do it, but I find the native apps much more reliable, in my opinion. Just figure I'd let everyone know.

I was sorting my laundry yesterday and noticed that my (now much smaller and fitting) shirts have no creases on them although I've been wearing them all day to work. Having a smaller belly certainly helps 😂😂.

Well, it is not weird but definitely a NSV.
Yesterday I went through my clothes for the 6th time!
I have now donated 10 trash bags of clothes!!! 🤯
I am in a 16/18 from a 24/26, and officially in my smallest size of stashed "skinny clothes".

oldandtired reacted to KimA-GA in pre surgery non scale victory
I am a high BMI girl (over 60 ) but have changed my diet, worked on eating disorders and just tried to change my life this year. Been doing pre op Keto diet since late august waiting on my surgery date. Down 70 lbs this year so yay there..
My NSV was my wardrobe changes! i was buying mostly size 34 shirts ( a few bigger). I saw a shirt on Amazon that i liked that was biggest at size 28. I ordered it for “later” after surgery- but as a lark i tried it on and it fit quite well!!
I wore it yesterday and got asked for the first time if I had lost weight. Guess clothes that fit make a difference;) I went and ordered four more size 28 shirts. If they fit too, I am going to purge most of those size 34 and higher and never look back!
I am trying to get below 60 BMI for surgery (somewhat a stall right now, but that’s ok - i am staying steady) but I am really enjoying this victory!!!

I was alone. I had someone take me and take me home, other than that....I slept a lot. It is an easy surgery--(I have had several, so I consider myself an expert, LOL) I have kids, but an hour away. Eat the way you are supposed to, take the pain meds, make sure you have something for nausea.

100 percent on the restless feeling, I open the fridge, sigh and close it. I look in the pantry, sigh and close it. I am not depriving myself, just don't know what to do. Restless.
Also- I decide on something, fix it, sit down with it, and go "Meh..."

I am 8 months post op. I get hungry.. but not the same way as before. No hunger pains, but a kind of...restlessness, lol, like a dog that can't quite find a good place to lie down. I like to eat, but this surgery has made me do what I should have done all along. Not eat as much.
