Thank you for sharing wishing you a speedy recovery. I had both hiatal hernia repair and RNY bypass. 1st 7 days I was kinda of ok after day 9 I started having really bad cramps loose stools, pain all over, feeling lethargic, nothing seems to help I might just go into the ER tomorrow Oxy and Diazepam not doing much. 😤😤😤😤 so frustrating

Has anyone experienced bad diarrhea postop with cramping bloated and even some red bright blood in the mucosa of colon???? I am starting to get a bit worried that I might have a leak no sure. I know diarrhea is not a common side effect or a symptom for it.
-
Did you also do RNY or VSG???

I take zoloft for antiexy. I've researched a bit on the internet and found that once you do a Gastric Bypass your psych meds will actually work differently. I wanted to know if anyone who has gone thru surgery had any experience with this. Thank you all in advance.

Thank you for sharing and best of wishes in your procedure -
My wife had her RNY in 2019, I remember her pain was so intense that even clearing her throat would hurt her abdomen. Doing my research on how to minimize this type of discomfort beside taking your pain meds post surgery one can also have some relief by using a pillow or a brace to help you support the abdomen. Has anyone had experience with this and did it work for you? Any suggestion on a particular brand? And thank you in advance for all the replies this is a wonderful online community I am grateful for this forum it has really giving me hope and help me manage my questions and navigate thru my anxiety.

Their is a brand call epic has high protein snack and quest.

Is it like head hungry or actual hunger???

@rattlesmomm hahaha I know that feeling of not wanting more shakes. I tried to mix it up a bit. I do all of my brights they are high protein, I do seafood broth, top sirloin for stews I add lentils, carrots, sweet potatoes, red cabbage, olives and brine broth. You can get about 10-15 grams of protein in a 8 ounce cup of broth and is very yummy. I believe you are entering your 3 phase soft and or purée foods. Ricotta Cheese, cottage cheese small curds. You can also sous vide your meats. Overall glad you are doing well. I started in my 2 phase but had a set back will taking gulps of liquids I get the worse cramps ever. So now I have really sip sip sip slowly but it will get better. Thank you for sharing

The reason I am creating this thread is solely for support. I know by 1st hand how intimidating this process can be. With the mere thought of should ldl do it? I can tell you that I was not a walk in the ballpark. But I am so happy I took this decision. Today I am 5 days RNY AND hiatal hernia repair post-op. I feel fatigued, yet happy. Sore, yet excited. I can use many more adjectives. Please share and ask.

Cramping with almost every sip!
EsojLabina replied to Fross's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Fross this is why I love this forum as I was ready to post the topic boom 🤯 I ran into this thread. 1st of all I am happy your wife is doing better, and omg 😱 I started having this symptoms today sipping and crippling cramping. I did vomit but it was because I felt pressure in my abdomen area and that really helped. Likewise I spoke to my dr and he stated to be on clear liquids and sip slowly. This give me hope thank you for sharing -

Psych Meds after Gastric Bypass
EsojLabina replied to EsojLabina's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@lizonaplane congratulations on ur weight loss, extended release medication would be a problem for people like me that did the bypass because of the anatomical changes down. You should not have any issues. I would still suggest to speak with your surgeon. -
