  1. I had the ablation surgery when I was 45. I had heard a co- worker talking about having her's done and I wanted it! They dissolve the lining of your uterus so you don't have "your menstrual cycle" any more. Lol I was done having children and done having periods!! You can still get pregnant, so you still have to use birth control. But best decision ever! So freeing! Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Sounds like me. Highest 350, goal 180. Don't want to be skinny. Just in good and healthy again. My doctors recommended the RNY bipass. I think it was about not being able to absorb certain fats. Any way, I'm good with my decision. Best of luck! Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app

  4. I love your positive attitude and that you don't compare yourself to others. You have your own personal goals and that's how it should be! I started at 350. In 11 days I'll be 1 year post op and only at -135. Not bad, but it should be a lot more. I don't follow what I should be doing because I can only tolerate a few select foods. But many are not that good, so I eat smaller amounts. My dietician is NOT happy. He's VERY rude. (Thought he was going to have a major melt down when I said pizza. Like I eat it all at one sitting!) But my doctor said I can do it this way, so I'm listening to him. I think my goal wgt is another 35 lbs, but I'm having the skin removal surgery too, so it may be less. Not sure how much weight that'll be when removed. That consult appt is in 10 days. Also in process of the first knee replacement surgery in November. No cartilage left. Can only do one at a time. Should be all fixed up by spring of next year. Can't wait! Best of luck and stay your positive self! Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Disgusted by food?

I have the same problem. I used to crave and eat huge bowls of tuna noodle casserole, macaroni and cheese, pasta, etc. I can barely eat any of these now. I also look in the pantry and say why bother? Then I snack out of boredom, mostly things with crunch like nuts. I'm in a stall. In 13 days I'll be 1 year post op. My highest weight was 350 and have I have lost 135 lbs, bringing me to 215. Trying to get to 180. 35 more pounds to go. But I also want to get the tummy tuck surgery and they said that should be about 25 lbs. I'm holding off on that until I have my both of my knees replaced. No cartilage left in either with the arthritis. They won't do those together because of this surgery and risk of infection. So I wait on that and am not sure how much more to lose now. Seeing the surgeon for the tummy tuck this month. He should be able to tell how much it'll bring my weight down. It's one huge, long process. But I'm glad I'm doing it. It's long over due. I need to have a life again and I haven't in over a decade. There's major depression, but I've had that all my life. So I deal. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. Did you insurance pay for the breast lift? Can you message me with the insurance if it did?
  8. Size 2 & 4? I was hoping for 10 & 12! Damn! I really don't know what size I am now. Congrats!
  9. The mental part is the hardest. You know what they say about your inner child... But I'm the opposite. I always had low self esteem and I feel like I look the same as before surgery and have to force myself to look in the mirror and I take selfies so I can see the new me (which I hated people taking selfies before and I never did! But I don't post them to social media. In fact, I haven't posted an actual picture of myself in years!). Now I'm afraid to update my avatar picture that I have up because they'll all think I want/need compliments and I hate being center of attention. Lol Congratulations!!! Hurtful comments

My brother (and sister) hates fat people and told me he hates that I took the easy way out with having surgery instead of "putting the work into it and just stop eating so much". Mind you, this is coming from a controlling a-hole who has a huge stomach as well AND wants to me talk to his own daughter and 10 year old granddaughter about them gaining too much weight. Like they don't know! Like they should do it because of the way he feels! His own granddaughter is afraid to eat in front of him! He makes comments to her. How can you do that to a young child you're supposed to care about? He cuts his own wife down as well. But doesn't look in his own mirror!! There's been a lot more and I've since disowned him. Sometimes you have to stay away from negative people for your own mental health. But you do you. Not telling you what you do, just saying I understand. Best of luck. Stay positive. 11. I'm +55 DWF and will be 1yr post op RNY surgery the middle of September this year. Lost +135 lbs so far. Have about another 35-50# to go. Divorced with grown kids. Looking for single female friend(s) to talk to/commiserate with who have the same in common. And when I'm ready, to help eachother get back out in the real world and possibly find guys as friends or to date. Need someone who can understand what I am going through, still need to go through, to vent to and figure this new future out together with. It's hard for most to understand or be supportive unless they're going through it as well. Message me if anyone has anything in common. Thx. (Should I post here or another place?) Has anyone lose 120+

    Wow! Congrats! That's fantastic!
  14. I can't do much yet. Need a double knee replacement and they won't do together because of having this surgery. I'm down 135. Surgery was 9/14/20.
  15. Never heard that. Interesting. Thx.
  16. I had my surgery on a Monday. I went home on Wednesday. On Friday I had to go to the ER for throwing up blood. A LOT of blood. I had aspiration pneumonia and I had to have another surgery to repair a bleeding ulcer by my esophagus the next morning. I'm 11 months out. I've lost 128 lbs total, but it should be more. I'm the one not to follow. I eat what I want because I don't crave foods any more. I, literally, have a tough time trying to find something to eat. If I get a chicken sandwich out, I eat it without the bun. I've wasted so much money on food, it isn't funny. I might eat 10 different kinds of food and nothing good. I've never eaten fruit and the few vegetables I do eat aren't great for you. But I do eat smaller portions. I'm still losing, so I can't complain. But I bet my dietician will at my next visit! He was so rude on my last visit! He was horrified that I had a piece of pizza. Umm, I didn't say I ate it all at once! I'm demanding to see the other one. My doctor/surgeon, personally, said I could eat what I want, just in small portions. There are times I do throw up a small bit and that's because I don't wait a half hour after eating to drink. I get so dehydrated and I've always drank a huge amount with my meals. Hardest part of this journey ever!
  17. How funny! That's my one year anniversary date! I agree, screw that BMI scale! I was shocked when my family doctor told me I was okay to get my knee replacement now. I said, don't I have to wait until I lose all the weight first? He said I was ready now. He kept telling me how good I was doing. Made me feel great! Best of luck with your surgery!
  18. I didn't mean the weight scale. I meant the BMI scale/chart. Nice to know it's not just me that feels that way.

    ?Dumping syndrome

It can get frustrating. Are you waiting half an hour in between eating and drinking? That's my hardest part! I used to drink 1-2 lesser tumble glasses with my meals. This part is killing me!! Hang in there.
  20. Anyone out 11 months from bypass? What is your weight loss amount? Mine is 102 from surgery, 132 total. I'm far behind. My biggest problem is drinking my calories. Tired if water, but get so dehydrated.
  21. My health. Bladder, high blood pressure, arthritis, needed knee replacements, etc. And tired of not being able to do things with my girls! Divorced and need a life!

    Has anyone lose 120+

I'm 11 months out bypass. Down 123 and stuck until I can quit drinking my calories. I get so dehydrated! I still have 38 pounds to go to my goal weight. Unless I decide I need to lose more. I haven't been that weight in 25 years, so I think that's a good weight for me. Congrats on your weight loss!

    ?Dumping syndrome

Could you be lactose intolerant? I was before, but am way more so now. Are you keeping a food diary to see?

    11 months out weight loss

That's an idea. I should just use the one on the fridge door upstairs. But I live downstairs. It's harder to get up and down the stairs carrying things with my knees. Need a double knee replacement next. Thx!
