It took one year and two weeks post surgery (plus 7 months pre-surgery), but today, nekked, on my own scale, I hit ONEderland, 199.6 lbs. Yipee! I know it's transitory and I'll bounce back and forth for a while, but this is the first time my scale has shown under 200 lbs for about 25 years. I've gone from a size 30-32 to an 18-20.

I didn't drink alcohol at all for 8+ months post surgery. I'm now 12 months out. I do drink wine and spirits now but it hits me very fast and hard. I'd be staggering at two drinks.
Also, alcohol wastes calories. I'd rather save them for real food.
Another reason to avoid alcohol is "addictive transference" Alcoholism developing after bariatric surgery is a real thing. I'm going to do the "Dry January Challenge". It's New Years Eve tonight, so I'll have my last drink for at least a month.

Update: It's been a month since I posted the photo of my Hair loss last spring. This morning I noticed a lot of 1-2" long hairs on top of my head. I can actually part my hair and the scalp is not so prevalent. I lost most of the hair in June, so it's taken 6+ months for it to noticeably grow in.

It is heart breaking. My husband had never seen me with short hair. I think he loved my long hair more than me. I went shoulder length and then a couple of months later, a pixie cut. My Hair loss phase lasted about 4 scary months and settled just before it became really noticeable. I have some new growth, we call it bum fluff, fine whispery strands.
I think I may keep it short in future because its a revelation to me how easy it is to wash and style

almost everyone has a stall around the 3rd week post op.
Did you get a DS or just a sleeve? This is the first I've heard of revision from bypass to sleeve (since the bypass is a more powerful surgery, I'm not sure why they'd do this... unless your sleeved stomach is part of a DS? (duodenal switch - which is a sleeved stomach with a partially bypassed small intestine - this particular surgery is even more powerful than the RNY bypass)

Yep, I had the exact same experience. I had 4 incisions and the 3 were pretty well healed and painless after the first week or so, but the one was very tender, swollen, and sore for probably an additional 2 weeks. I think that is pretty normal. As long as it isn't hot to the touch, excreting discharge, or showing other signs of infection, it just needs time.
