So thankful that I went on this journey. It's been a long time since I've been at a normal BMI. I'm getting a facelift in July :)

Yes I had my sleeve done March 31,22....I was 367 , I am 217, I have 18 pds to go then skin removal...so happy I took this journey, I feel so good , and just got 1 total knee replacement, getting the other knee done in june

  2. I had the gastric Sleeve surgery almost 2 years ago … was 260 and now about 160 … lowest weight 155.
    1. You will have regrets within 6 months of surgery for emotional reasons like not soothing yourself with food - you will need to break up with food and see it only has a way to keep u alive and once in a while eat something really good but only have a little or u will pay dearly in nausea and pain. U will start Turing to food with more flavor because u can only eat so much so u will want to enjoy it. Naturally thin people do not look to food a friend.

    2. Start weight training as soon as u are ready - I started 1.5 months after surgery. I got a personal trainer because I’ve always been afraid of the gym but I was more afraid of loose skin. Although I do have some loose skin I’m in my 40’s - I look pretty good for loosing 100 pounds. I didn’t start cardio until after I lost most of my weight because I feel like I eat more with cardio.

    3. If you start loosing your hair - don’t panic. I had my entire hand filled with hair for several weeks of showering. I thought I was going to die. It started 4 months from surgery. As a fat women - I ALWAYS had awesome hair so loosing it was HARD. I paid a lot of money for different fixes but it probably wasn’t worth anything. It slowed down and after a year and a half - it’s better - not back to 100% but I’m a good 90% normal. Try to embrace it and maybe cut it off to start a new you.

    4. Would I do it again? HELL YES! Is it hard, yes. You can no longer count on food as a friend. You cannot eat and drink at the same time (makes me feel sick). I miss taking advil when I had live a pain. You have to watch your alcohol intake. If you over eat - u will pay and u want to die.
However, I no longer will like I embarrass my family with my size, I can ride on rides at any amusement parks, I can climb stairs without stopping, I am seen by people without the look of pity, i don’t feel uncomfortable all the time, the list could go on for hours. You start a whole new chapter of your life.
    Best of luck

  3. Can anyone give me some encouragement that I will find happiness in life again? I feel so blah at the moment and I can’t find joy anywhere in my life. Has anyone experienced this? I am usually the positive person in the world and my personality has completely changed. Please give me some insight that this will change. I’ve only lost 17 lbs on top of it all.

  4. Hi everyone
I am having my pre assessment tomorrow for my Gastric Sleeve surgery & I have so many questions. I've nearly pulled out twice as I've read that there are a lot of complications at my age (I am 68). Even the Liver shrinking is worrying me I never had to do that for my Gall bladder removal. I am so heavy my knees are suffering & I'm so self-conscious & miss out on doing things with my Grandchildren. I still work full time for the NHS but now even walking is difficult,
Any advice would be so good as I'm really worried right now.

Im 54...had my sleeve march 31,22..and ive lost 100 pds to todays date. Only problem after surgery was the gas..omg
Now my problem is i cant eat , i hate food..

  5. Hi! I’m a week post gastric sleeve surgery. I am so uncomfortable with the painful gas. I can feel it bubble in my intestines, make noise, and then I get an intense heavy feeling in my sternum. What can I do about it? I got Gas X in pill form and it has not helped in any way, shape or form. I’ve been walking since my surgery day. I force myself to burp all day long. I can’t really pass gas but I sometimes do. Is there anything I can do to help this stop? I didn’t think it’d last so long but I’m miserable! Personally my gas pains are with me pretty much all day. Is this normal?
Hey i remember those...im 6 weeks post opp and i was in pain ..just keep moving around.
