Congratulations on your weight loss! I posted some of my before and after pics. I was 348 at my heaviest. I was 330 in July 2020 when I began the approval process. I was 310 on December 23, 2020, the day of surgery. I am now 247. My weight loss isn’t going as fast as some. I do eat a bit more in carbs and I work out 4-5 days a week including strength training. I have never felt or looked as good as I do now.

Here is me just shy of my heaviest of 365 lbs. I started my Weight loss journey June 2020. I lost about 35 pre surgery which was January 4, 2021. I also have had to have a revision due to a perforated ulcer mid July. I am now down a total of 120 lbs. it’s amazing the difference I feel. My 5 year old can actually sit in my lap… because I have one now! I can see my feet when I weigh myself. I don’t have to lean against a wall to wipe after using the bathroom, or to clean myself in the shower. I can buckle my seatbelt with out getting out of breath. I now consider myself ‘normal’ fat because I actually blend in with a crowd rather than standing out as the largest in a room! I’m sure I could go on but I am so glad I did this!

Oh, yeah. The tale of the missing ass. Have you experienced bony ass pain yet? It’s awful. I don’t really have a butt anymore though some of it (the empty loose skin part) droops down the back of my thighs. But as my remaining fat has redistributed (it does start to happen when you’re a few months into maintenance) I think my butt got a little bigger & my bony ass pain isn’t as bad. You could always add some of those exercises to boost your glutes.

Definitely speak with your team about a caloric range especially if it will make you feel more secure with what you’re doing. The whole process can be pretty stressful as it is. I was only given portion size, number of meals per day (1/4 cup three times a day to begin from the purée stage) & of course Protein & fluid goals.
Once you begin eating more solid foods & heal that little more your feel full sense will kick in as will your restriction if you eat too much.
Plans are different as @Creekimp13 said and yours may have to be modified to suit your needs as you progress. I wouldn’t have succeeded on @Creekimp13’s plan - lol. I was eating less than 300 calories to begin & increased to about 700 for most of the weight loss period. I only eat about 1200 calories a day now in maintenance but I’m short & not out there running marathons or lifting weights at a gym 😁.
Good luck & congrats on your surgery.

If you meet your protien goal, you will protect your heart. If you go to your appointments, do your tests, do your best to follow instructions, and take your Vitamins as directed.... you will likely be a lot healthier than you've been in years.
There is nothing more strongly linked with early death, cancer, stroke, heart disease and diabetes.....than significant obesity.
Also...some doctors don't do a "starvation diet" (which I personally agree could be metabolically terrible and probably unwise). My doctor wanted us eating 1200 calories per day as soon as possible. I did at three weeks. (6 little 200 calorie meals)
I think where most of the people who have issues run into problems...is when they don't follow up. They have an unexpected gain or feel unhappy with results and don't continue to get their labs checked or do their follow up appointments. Yes, a few problems can arise as a result of these surgeries....most are very treatable.
Always weigh benefits vs risk. And also consider the risk involved in doing nothing.

Tomorrow will finish up week two of 'back to basics' for me. I am drinking 3 bariatric specific Protein Shakes, eating 1 bariatric specific Protein snack and 1 bariatric specific protein lunch and then I eat a sensible homecooked dinner focusing on eating protein first and if I am still hungry, vegetables. I have found that the amount I can eat has drastically reduced itself over the course of these past two weeks, and quickly. I feel full most of the time and when I start feeling hungry, it's time to eat/drink. I found a program on another website, which I will not name due to the possible conflict of interest. They also sell items and while they are 'okay', they are not the best tasting...which led me to this site. I am due some items from the shop here tomorrow and I am hoping for better flavor. However, I have already lost close to 4 pounds and I feel great.
If you would like me to share more specifics, I can send a personal message (of course that is if we can because I'm new here and don't know lol).

Took the picture on the left today. The right was a couple of weeks before surgery. Almost 70lbs down in total. A little of 3 months out. I can’t believe it. I have long legs?! What?! Just prod that even if I can’t see the changes every day, they are there. So thankful I got this surgery.

  13. Congrats!
