Today I was able to open the gas tank door lever on my car without opening my door or undoing my seatbelt!! I just bent over in my seat like an average sized person!

    UPDATE:
Just wanted to give a quick update on the inches I lost. So, I took my measurements today and since the beginning of May I have lost a total of 29.8 inches!!! The breakdown looks like this:
May to June I lost: 16.8 inches
June to July I lost: 5.3 inches
July to August I lost: 7.7 inches
Some of the biggest inches lost were.............
    5 inches off my hips
    3 in my breasts
    7 in my stomach
I also contacted my surgeon's office and asked about the ProCare branch One A Day Multi-Vitamin. I read about it here and was curious if my office would say it fit or not into my program/dietary needs. Looking at the nutritional values I was also curious about not having to take the extra B1, B12, Calcium and Iron. All supplements I buy and take as extras right now as the Flintstones chewables don't provide enough.
My office said that it looked good and that I also would NOT have to take extra B1, B12, Iron (I got the Multivitamin with 45 mg of iron) or Calcium as it provides more than enough! So that's great to hear. My hope was to eventually be taking less meds/supplements/vitamins and now I am. I will have my first post surgery blood work drawn at the end of the month, beginning of next month and see how I fare in that department. Fingers crossed there is a great improvement.

Like adding unflavored protein powder to milk (low-fat dairy, unsweetened almond, or soy) and shaking vigorously?
Ask your clinic about using PB2 that soon after surgery -- probably fine if you pour it through a fine-mesh strainer after blending, but of course you should check with your team first.

The photo shows a crust which isn't accounted for in this tally. (I frequently forget to log parts of recipes, too.)

I'm still pre-op, but I can't wait to get rid of these gigantic clothes. I understand the superstitious resistance, since I hung onto maternity clothes long after they had gone out of style because I was afraid I'd end up pregnant again. But regain this weight again, after so much effort and risk? Nope, not gonna happen. This wardrobe will be history.

I haven't had surgery yet, but I have been doing A LOT of researching about how important exercise is to prevent re-gain. I have traditionally been very down on any exercise except walking because it's so hard for me. I'm down 32 lbs as I prepare for surgery and today I did a 15 minute dance exercise video without stopping! It wasn't pretty, I didn't get all the moves right, but I did the whole thing!

My PCP removed Morbidly obese from my diagnosis list. I am now just Obese, and my HA1Cis now Normal instead of prediabetic

Stalls happen. We do say the first one happens at week three but it can be before week 3 or after. They can last one to three weeks. They do pass & you don’t have to do anything different. Your body just needs a break from all the changes - your body has shut the door & said nope, no more, I’m not moving & am just staying here for a while. You’ll also likely experience a couple of stalls along the way.
We all lose at our own rate. Some fast, some slow. There are many factors at influence that rate: age, gender, starting weight, genetics, weight loss history… You’ve lost 26lbs - that’s great.
Stick to what your doing. You’ll reach your goal.

Any good news, @HealthyLifeStyle? I've been thinking of you and hoping your nutritionist was able to help. Have you considered the very-high-calorie nutrition shakes? I know Boost makes one that's 700 calories in one tiny juice-box-sized container. (My sister has to drink them while undergoing chemotherapy.)

FutureSylph reacted to vikingbeast in Thank you from a lurker
I just wanted to say thank you to all y'all. I found this site a while ago and have been lurking and reading and learning.

The honest talk helped me with a lot of the anxiety I was having about surgery. The photos inspired me so much—so many of you changed your lives and kept them changed. The folks who are really into exercise reassured me that it isn't over (I love my CrossFit, and I can't wait until my weight isn't the limiting factor). And just the fact that so many people's lives improved finally got me over the "shame hump".

I called for a referral, had my initial consultation last week, and am tentatively scheduled for VSG in late August. (My insurance has been frankly amazing. So few roadblocks that I kept checking to make sure they were talking about bariatric surgery.) To say I can't wait for this is an understatement.

I just want y'all to know you're changing lives for me and for other lurkers who haven't clicked that "sign up" button yet. Thank you.

I suspect those pounds are a special bouncy kind that come back as quickly as they fall off. 😉 Try to aim for steady loss instead, that's my advice (not that you asked for any).
I really appreciate this thread and its details. Very welcome reading for pre-oppers. Many thanks!

Nothing for which to apologize. I've enjoyed reading all the replies, and I appreciate them. (Thanks, y'all!) Thread drift on message boards sounds more like natural conversation to me.
