FutureSylph got a reaction from Erin18 in How much food do you eat after
I can't chug water like I used to, but at 11 weeks post-op I'm taking "normal" sized swallows (not tiny sips) of fluids.

I use a weird mix -- adult salad/dessert plates, children's flatware from Ikea, and baby bowls. (I feel deprived if I put a half-cup of Soup in a regular bowl.)

It is horrid when the scales seems to rule our lives. Health is the reason why I started on this journey. Here's to health for the both of us River Moon. :)

I was hospitalized for three days with my RNY, and I spent every one of those 72 hours being profoundly grateful for my nurses. I don't even want to think about how horrendous those days would have been without their help.

Every pound lost is my reward. I'm much more deeply thrilled by the process itself than by an eventual arbitrary goal. But I enjoy reading about what others consider rewarding, so keep 'em coming!

My goodness, where did you find such a delicious-looking Tomato? I've been craving a BLT, but can't find a local source for decent tomatoes. They're all vaguely pink and mealy, with no flavor. <sigh>

It might be the vaping that's causing the nausea. If you're unwilling to give up cannabis for more than a week, you could try edibles instead and see if that helps.

LOL... For what it's worth, that made me wonder where the saying came from (other than my grandpa), and it is ill advised to look it up.

Thanks....as I said earlier. My intentions were good. I just don't think this person really wanted help.

As I said on the original thread, you were right, and I apologize. I just err on the side of taking people at their word. She said she was eating 1200 calories, and I know there are people who don't lose weight well after surgery - but I didn't realize that the weight loss with ESG is really kinda low anyway. So, she just chose the wrong surgery and her head wasn't in the right place, as she made clear in her later responses.
I still don't think tough love is the best strategy for most people, but it sounds like she really needed further work on herself before she went through with ANY surgery.
Again, my apologies for attacking you yesterday.

I called my surgeon's office today and asked if it was ok to try a little bit of mushy food, just to see how my stomach handles it. They said yes, but to go slow. So I did tonight when I started to really feel hungry. I had 1 tsp of classic hummus and it was GLORIOUS!!!!!!! The taste was amazing (more intense than I remember) and best of all, NO PAIN!!!!! I stopped at 1 tsp because I didn't want to push it. And I was actually full!!!! From a teaspoon of hummus!!!! It was so cool!!!!! My head immediately went to "omg that tastes soooo goood, eat more more more!!!" but I didn't. I recognized that for what it was, and I got to have a taste and feel full, and such a small amount was all I needed. I happily put it down, and now I'm here sated, very comfortably not hungry, and so excited that my stomach isn't going to give me trouble with this next step. I'm going to stick with my shake in the morning, my Protein waters in the afternoon, but I'm definitely having hummus at night (which is when I'm the most hungry). I'll bump it up once I officially hit the 2 week mark. I want to go slow with my stomach and not push it. I just can't believe it went so well!!!!! And took such a small amount of food!!!!!!! This is so cool

If the funeral hasn't yet taken place (or even if it has), a sweet gift for the grieving family is a basket of a dozen white cotton handkerchiefs, which you have starched and ironed to snowy perfection. So much nicer than tissues.
