Of 2 week liquids 4.5 slim fasts a day and sugar free Jello and Water only and slim fasts the high Protein ones strawberry are filling me up. Cleveland clinics hospitals are discussing sitting non essential surgeries down again so I’m

You are 100% right. I don't think I've seen a single person say they regret the surgery, except for a one or two oddballs who had completely bizarre complications. I need to just stick to the facts!

mine is scheduled for the 23rd. I'm seriously questioning too. Not only am I hangry! (thanks liquid diet!) i'm having all the "I can never have xxxxx again" thoughts. I KNOW this is my emotions working, not my rational mind, but is it all worth it? I keep going back to my FB groups and NOT ONE PERSON has said they regret it. That is a huge motivator for me. NOT ONE PERSON. think of that!! I wish you luck, where is your surgery? i am in central Maine!

My Surgery date is for 9/13/2021 8am I am very excited and nervous! I had a week of liquid diet which was very hard for me! Im praying my liver did shrink some. I'm just preparing my mind, body, and soul for tomm morning! Im ready to get rid of this excess weight, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol! Wish me luck! VSG Surgery September 13th in Portland Oregon Does anyone else have an iodine allergy? I cant seem to find many options as of shakes and Multivitamins that don't contain Iodine and that meet the low carb, low sugar, low fat requirements for post op diet, anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions would be great!

Congratulations! I recently got my surgery date, for 9/30/21.

Luckily my surgeon doesnt do prep until a day before surgery!!

RNY scheduled 9/9/21 @ Sebastian River Medical Center in Florida. Started pre-op diet last Sunday, will start liquid diet Sunday till surgery date.

what are you using for liquids other than shakes and Water? have you tried the Protein waters? I'm trying to find some sweetened with stevia not sucralose. Sucralose gives me a stomach ache, makes me pukey. Looking for suggestions!!

I'm excited and scared too. I talked to the surgeon yesterday and he said it was normal, and that he wasn't scared, but he was excited for me. I liked that. I'm glad he wasn't scared 🤣

My VSG is scheduled sept 10. I have a one week liquid pre-op diet. I’m so excited but scared at the same time.

Hi Everyone! Im new to the site - I am having VSG through Blossom on 9/29/2021. Started preop diet and I miss caffeine. Anyone else feel like you could sleep for days? Im wiped.

That sounds good (minus the cilantro - I'm one of THOSE people). I'll have to get some chicken broth.

Its normal to feel nausea - but some meds help for this. Check out ur calf pain just to be kn safe side as inability for ling periods can increase rick of clots in calf xx

Day 2 after surgery. 1st night home. I had a lot of nausea and struggle to sleep much at all. I have pain at a 2 or 3 out of 10, so bearable. Just cannot shake the nausea, hopefully it passes soon. Have fallen short on liquids but will get better today for sure. I am an avid walker but for some reason walking has given me calf pain, maybe because I am walking is socks vice walking sneakers…who know, just weird.

That sounds sooooo good! Like a broth version of chicken tortilla soup! Totally adding that to my menu!

As for the LRD thing, I have not personally spoken with anyone who's surgeon flat out refused due to liver size/fatty tissue. There are stories all over the internet, but I can't confirm any. I do know several folks though who had to have an additional incision for the liver retractor. Not a huge issue, but it does make surgery and recovery a little longer and more difficult. Best to avoid, if possible, and give yourself the best shot at success!
