  1. I get light headed pretty easily too. I get my protein in but I notice that I feel light headed when I don't drink enough water. Are you sure you are getting enough fluids each day? Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Your favorite exercises?

I have been walking and biking. My leg are getting pretty strong but I noticed that my upper body was not. I decided to add in rowing and some weights for toning. My nutritionist also said the varying my exercise may help me get past my stall. It seems to be helping both the toning and the stall. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I'm 52 and had the gastric sleeve surgery about 3 months ago. Down about 50lbs including the pre-surgery weight loss. That said, I am working out daily and keeping my calories low. The big difference is that my motivation to loose is high because I am seeing success on the scale. Still had to push through a long stall but so far it has been worth it. Still have at least 40 lbs to go. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

    June Surgeries

Stalled I have been stalled for several weeks too but I have been walking, cycling and just started some strength training. I had a follow up with the doctor and nutritionist yesterday and it turns out I have had a significant reduction in my percent fat and a significant increase in my lean muscle mass. So, I am stalled but some of it is a shift in my body composition. They recommended I drop from 800 calories a day to 600 calories a day because my estimated calories may be slipping. I have to admit that I probably wasn't being true to my estimate of 800 calories so I am trying to drop back down to 600 to account for that fudge factor I am was allowing. Hopefully that will help break that stall and get me back to being more accountable on my caloric intake. I guess time will tell. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Cooking

I tend to like Mexican and Indian food. I tried these red lentils dosas and they are a great alternative to tortillas. Really simple to make and a good whole food option. They are high in protein and fiber. I just used them like a tortilla with my pureed chicken mixed with enchilada sauce. https://www.powerhungry.com/2018/05/1-ingredient-red-lentil-tortillas-grain-free-vegan/ Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Just got my VSG done

Wow, quite a few people in the Dallas area!!! I had my surgery in early June and I am very happy with my decision so far. I missed the zoom support group meeting last month at Baylor Frisco but hope to make the next one. Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I had to go get an IV due to dehydration the first week home from surgery. It might be worth checking in with your doctor and see if they would recommend it. I was having very little urine output so it was the right decision for me at the time. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    No energy at all!

Are you sure you are getting enough fluids? I had my surgery on June 7th and my energy is definitely zapped but I am able to handle the stairs and some slow walks. I still take a nap every day and my body is still recovering but no dizziness. You might check in with your doctor to see if dehydration could be a factor. June Surgeries

So far I am drinking water and a protein elecrolyte drink. I will try some broth with protein powder tomorrow. I am relieved that I am able to stay hydrated but need to push my protein levels up. Still needing my pain meds but hoping I can switch to Tylenol tomorrow. I ended up having a hernia repair so maybe that is part of the reason my pain still lingering. June Surgeries

Just had my surgery on the 7th and I am back home. Seem to be okay with sipping liquids but doing it very slowly. I didn't take any of my vitamins but plan to try and take them tomorrow. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Looks like we are surgery buddies. I'm having the sleeve surgery on Monday too. Best of luck to you! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I think there is a real advantage going into the surgery already in ketosis. It took me a good 3 or 4 day to get there but I made sure I did not add in any carbs during the pre surgery liquid diet. I had headaches the first three day of the liquid diet but I'm relieved that I won't be going through carb withdrawal right after surgery. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I would focus more on your other health conditions. I qualified with a BMI of 36 due to apnea and high cholesterol. FEP BCBS was fairly quick to approve the surgery after it was submitted. I was not required to loose weight before the surgery but I also tried not to gain. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Finally in Onederland!! 🎉

Sounds like your weight loss is going fantastic. I would guess your "stall" is related to getting more fit. Getting more toned adds muscle weight in the short term but helps increase your metabolism. Keep up the good work!!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
