These things can & do happen. Constipation is often an ongoing issue for many of us at least until we’re eating a broader range of food like vegetables & fruit. Try adding a soluble fibre to a drink, shake, Soup, yoghurt, or similar to help. I used to take a stool softener if I hadn’t gone for three days to keep on top of it. Remember too you’re not actually eating that much so you don’t have much to actually poop out especially in the first couple of months. So don’t expect to go every day.
Meeting or being close to your daily Fluid goal is extremely important because of dehydration. Sip, sip, sip. I still drink during the night to ensure I reach mine. (Have a drink whenever I wake.) Your throat can be swollen for a little while after the surgery though it does generally pass in a couple of days. Do mention it to your surgeon when you go for your check up if it’s soon otherwise give them a call. Try drinks at different temperatures in the meantime. Many of us found warm or Hot Drinks more soothing than cool or cold drinks. And again sip slowly.
Also remember we all heal & recover in our own way & time. This is a pretty major surgery & some take a little longer or can experience some challenges with certain aspects like hitting fluid or Protein goals, or experience a little more surgical pain, have more gas pain, take a little longer to get their strength back, tolerate or not tolerate certain flavours, textures, smells, etc. Like your weight loss, your recovery may be a bit erratic. Easier today, but tomorrow not as much, then the next day is okay. Look back over a week to better see your progress. You can be sure that it does get better & easier in time.
    All the best.

    yes...i had/have this issue.
i learned to make sure i ALWAYS go to bed (or lay down) on an empty stomach, and sleep with my head slightly elevated.
it has got a little better over the years (i'm 5+ years out now), but if im not careful i'll wake up choking on some bile/throwup very suddenly.
this has probably happened 4-5 times in just the last 12 months alone...all under the same circumstance: i fell asleep on the couch watching tv after eating something. it used to happen much more frequently in the beginning, so yeah it got better...but i dunno if my reflux itself got better, or if i just got better at managing the triggers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Talk to your surgeons office. Something may be off in your labs. Low B12 is one thing that can cause low energy really quick but you don’t want to guess and take extra. I’m sure there are a handful of things that could be causing it. Don’t suffer trying to figure it out on your own. Get some labs done and your team should be able to tell you exactly what you need.

Prices have always gone up. A price increase in one area drives the price up in another. It’s an accumulative cycle. Consider how a price increase in electricity affects the cost a business incurs just in keeping their doors open. So they raise their prices to offset the more they pay for electricity. Then wages go up because people are struggling to pay their electricity bill. Wages go up so employers have to increase their prices to compensate for the wage increase. The wages go up for the electricity companies too so they increase their charges and prices go up again.
Recently in Australia, the government bought in a wage increase that anyone working a public holiday is paid triple time (up from double time). Consequently, nothing is open today Good Friday (except churches) because they simply can’t afford to pay their staff if they open. The fall out is greater though. Weekly sales are down so they may have to offset this with an increase in charges in some items because they still have costs. The shop is closed but they still are using electricity (refrigeration, lighting, security, etc.). They still pay rent or rates on the property for the day they’re closed. They still pay insurance on the property & product. There may lose product (food going bad). Casual workers aren’t paid for days they don’t work, so less income coming into those households for the week. Some businesses also have to pay a payroll tax here. If your payroll (wages) is higher than a certain amount you are taxed. So wages go up, you pay more tax & consequently increase the cost of your product or service.
And they’re usually percentage increases so as the years pass and prices go up the percentage increase is greater.
And round and round it goes.
Here endth my lesson on this Holy day. LOL!

Probably because the cost of gas, storage, transport, fertilizers, ..everything..etc..eventually has to be passed onto consumers.

Hello @ihoneyyou, You are doing so well. I think you look great too.
Have you had children ? I ask because you may need a muscle repair to rectify your tummy shape. It may not be all weight loss related

Why do you think its you who should change ? Its not you saying these things. Its people who should know better. They are your beloved family after all.
TBH I would have come back with something like - well if I am a pig what does that make you ? The big bad wolf ? I am older and have developed a thicker skin.
I may be delusional but I always think that if someone is looking at me, its because I am gorgeous haha. I smile, flash my lashes and laugh. A woman stared at me for so long once, I went over and asked her was she waiting for my head to fall off.
I know counselling is hard to get here but it would help you, it did me

    Hello everyone,
8 months ago, I had a gastric bypass surgery, and I've lost -32 kg since then. However, I take zero pleasure in drinking or eating. I painfully feel the journey of the food I ingest to my stomach. Everything makes me burp, whether it's food or drink, even a small sip of Water. I also have flatulence. My appetite is very unstable: one day I eat well, the next I can't swallow more than 3 bites. I experience nausea and random cramps. My stomach frequently gurgles, which makes me uncomfortable in public. I feel very uncomfortable at restaurants. Have other people experienced these symptoms, and do they ease with time? These symptoms appeared rather late for me, which worries me even more. I wonder how I will cope with this for life?

I am waking at night with naseau or reflux (kind of trying to figure out which it is). Has ANYONE experienced this? I’m praying that it’s nothing serious because the whole reason I had the revision surgery was for bad erosions that wouldn’t heal from acid reflux (after the sleeve).

had an endoscopy two weeks ago and have another scheduled In May

    THANK U FOR SHARING/your time

My program has one week of liquids, soft Proteins at week 2, and then if you are meeting your protein and hydration goals, you can start adding some veg and fruit starting the third week. So, I was eating things like eggs, tuna, cottage cheese, salmon, and some very well cooked veg like broccoli and green Beans. I was doing fine until last week when I had several incidents of vomiting. So my doctor moved me back to liquids 5 days ago to allow healing. I'm stuck with it until my appointment a week from today and pretty much everything sounds terrible. Anything with sweetener is too sweet. I have clear protein Water and I swear it tasted like perfume. I made a smoothie with frozen banana today and even that was too sweet. Protein Shakes disgust me. I have one flavor I can handle. So I'm mostly doing cream Soups with a scoop of unflavored protein. Everything about eating feels really disgusting right now, although I haven't had any issues with my stomach, so that's a good thing. And my hydration has been consistently good.

Hey @Rose perez. Could you update your profile with your details ( type of surgery, surgery date, starting weight, current weight, height, etc.). It makes it easier to respond to your questions, offer advice, support, etc. if we know that information.
You can do it via profile under account in the menu tab.

I am currently three years post sleeve sitting ten pounds heavier than when I stared contemplating the SADI revision surgery. I am pretty hopeful and excited this time though. I am already eating better, exhaustively researching the procedure and the future diet. Finally I found a therapist that specializes in disordered eating near me who is taking new patients. It wouldn’t be possible without telehealth because she’s a couple hours away (something positive that came from COVID). Within 15 minutes tonight we discussed my mental health, medications, medical history, potential surgery, a change in the dietician and touched on some of my emotional eating concerns. She thinks she can help me and she asked me to think about it and talk it over with my current therapist and if we agree it’s a good idea she wants me to sign a release so that she and my therapist can work together. I feel so excited and hopeful that this is going to make all the difference this time. I am curious how long the process usually takes. I’m hoping I will have a pretty good idea of how much help I need and know whether I am ready to move forward by the time my surgery date rolls around.

I'm so happy to find this thread, because I've been anticipating these questions and am so nervous about them. My immediate family and a couple of close friends know, but I don't intend to share beyond that. Currently, my plan is to simply say that I've been addressing some health challenges and leave it at that.

I was today years old when I learned that I’ve been saying it wrong this whole time!
All my life i've said: “let’s go to Dim Sim”
When I should be saying “let’s Yum Cha”
dim sum is the food, yum cha is the process of going to get said food!
(yep, I googled it…now I’m off to impress family and friends with this newfound knowledge)

i think it all depends on how much actual fat you still have left when you get plastics. even if you reach "goal weight" you may still be carrying subcutaneous fat along with the excess skin.
i've read of folks on here who have dropped 10, 20, 30 lbs after plastics, so it has been done. me, I lost a grand total of 400g (i.e., 0.88 lb), so basically nothing....BUT it made a huge difference visually, so...

Yeah.. this is exactly what I am going through. I'm 14 months post-op. Down to 136 pds. My goal was 150 but I have lost since my anniversary appt back in January. I am very active. Plus I am going to physical therapy which has me doing lots of exercises. My primary doctor has said I should be stabilized by now. But the surgical staff says that this is what my body feels it needs. I am going with that. I was worried that I was still losing. I am listening to my body now and it knows what's best. By the way, you look stunning!! Keep up the good work. And dismiss all the naysayers. I get that a lot from the same people who basically said I was too fat. Now they're saying I'm too skinny... You can't win with these folks. But you're living your life for you. And making this kind of change is a big deal. It is something to be proud of. Let those negative nancy's stay mad. All the best to you!

    Thank you both.
Spinoza thank you I know with my mental health issues that my journey doesn’t look exactly like everyone’s here but some version of what happened to me could happen to everyone I hope my story helps someone. I know that so many people here have helped me along the way. I wish I wouldn’t have gotten so embarrassed and stopped posting last time. Things may be different now. But, I put my story out there and from now on I am looking forward.
BlondPatriotinCDA That’s what I try to tell my husband. He has always been very fit and he tries to empathize but he just doesn’t understand and sometimes he says all the wrong things. Recently He said I don’t get it, you quit smoking why is this so difficult for you. I said because I don’t have to smoke three puffs a day to survive and not smoke anymore than that. I know if I had one cigarette I would be a smoker again. In fact i did and I was until I quit the second time and now I know I can’t have just one. But, I do think knowledge is power and I will know when I do go off plan again which I inevitably will. I will know that give it a few days and my body will stop screaming at me that it’s starving because that’s what it takes for me. I eat carbs and my body craves them for a few days afterwards then the cravings are a lot less. Then I’m good until the next holiday or dining out temptation or if I’m really stressed I eat off plan. Those are my triggers. I’m hoping that information will make it easier for me to get back on track next time.

This time I already told all my loved ones to please try not to offer me food that is not a good choice for me and I am eating low carb already. I also just declined a lunch invitation with my craft group being honest that I’m too tempted to eat bad when dining out. Maybe once I get back on track I said but for now I need to stay focused (to a group of mostly really skinny women who probably totally don’t get it but they didn’t say anything at least). Anyways. Yes. My plan is to keep chatting here with people Who actually get it and to try to find that therapist and pay out of pocket as Spinoza suggested because this is it. It is not like they usually revise a third time and even if they did the complications and risks are scary enough the second time around. This is my do over and I have to do it right this time.
