  1. Its early days after surgery and it can be a rough ride for a time. Lots of foods we thought we could eat are definite no-go areas after surgery. We have to just try them again at a later date. I am still struggling to eat cooked salmon. Sometimes my stomach will tolerate it and other times it will throw a tantrum. Your bowel problems will get better as soon as you can eat a full diet again You may need an increase in Nausea meds to see you overnight, I did. I also use a wedge and have thick books under the top of my bed, so I sleep with my head a bit higher. As well as nausea I have GERD in the night. These 3 things have worked wonders for me I hope you get it sorted quickly Are you still on protein shakes? Bloating sounds like an intolerance to an ingredient in it or IBS. Can you speak to your team and see if they can give you some pointers. You are very early in your journey and as we all have been given different diets, we don't know what foods you are allowed

    8 weeks out and scared

If you are worried about what you did then speak to your team. My advice would be relax a bit, forgive yourself, you know what you did wrong and hopefully would not repeat the incident. You are so near onederland it would be a shame to put off this huge milestone by weight gain. You have done so well, keep up the good work
  3. Go into the forum drop down box, choose Gastric sleeve surgeries and in there you will find 42 pages of November sleeve buddies. My husband also had trouble with his machine. It took time to tolerate it. He had to change his mask and also have a water reservoir to make him comfortable. Is your worry about the surgery or the time in hospital or when you are at home? From what I have read on here, people do not have Apnoea for long after surgery. Getting rid of your machine will be one of the biggest bonuses Congrats on your surgery date
  4. In the UK, I paid £12,000 last November. Spire Hospitals

    Weight loss Surgery

Can you contact your team and get their help. Everyone is given different advice, so one diet and exercise doesn't fit all. If you can get no help, this is what I would do - Eat proteins first and then vegetables or salad and limit carbs to fruits as much as possible. Log everything that goes into your mouth in any app you choose. So that while you can not do much you are in control. I am sure you know this as you have done so well in the past By the way you have the cutest dog, please give him/her a hug from me please

    Ring Size?!

I never had an original wedding ring. 47 years ago, when I ordered my original wedding ring it never arrived in time for our wedding. The jeweller lost my request. I was heartbroken. I got married in my sister's wedding ring and chose a new ring from a different jeweller when I returned from honeymoon. Years later that ring was stolen. Then I began wearing a deceased parents ring that got too small when I started gaining weight. I bought a second-hand ring that I wear now but like @omrhsn Its slipping off my finger when my hands are cold and wet. I will go back to the parents' ring but TBH, no ring feels like a true wedding ring as I didn't wear any of mine at the ceremony Maybe when we have been married 50 years we can renew our vows and I could get a new ring !

    Slowing down?

I visit my dietician every 2 months, and this visit I lost 14lbs. In this 2-month period I had a very annoying 26-day stall. My team are always overjoyed with my progress, so I am ok with it too. I am eating 800 - 1000 cals a day. Everybody loses weight at a different rate but if we keep to a calorie deficit, then eventually we will all end where we want to. See what this month brings regarding weight loss and if you are still seeing poor results then get back to your team and get them earning their keep

Well done you, we started this ride at similar times, and we have both done so amazingly well. I hope you still stay on the forum then you can cheer when I get there too. I just know I will, I am determined

    Unable to vomit

Thats the Foamies. Every time I retried Salmon, Salad, Chicken or Eggs this would happen to me. It so horrid. I feel for you. It gets better. Are you taking nausea medication? I have been so much better since they got me on twice daily
  13. I also felt that waiting wasn't an option and paid for my surgery. I don't regret a penny of the £12,000 I paid in the UK. I have heard really good things in this forum from that hospital. Let us know how you are getting along and if there is anything you need help with, please post and we will help if we can. Good luck next week

    How fast?

I have lost 120lbs in 11 months, so about 11lbs on average a month but I have only been able to move like I can now for the last 4 months. My fat made me so disabled. I think I have done really well, considering.

Oh my goodness don't you look fabulous. Awesome job.
  16. If you look in the heading banner, find Forums and use the drop-down arrow. You will find 14 pages of Pre op diets. In the Uk we have different diets so my help would be unhelpful. I can say that by being on this forum for over a year, I have picked up some knowledge of the US diets. I believe the norm is 4 shakes, sugar free popsicles and maybe a fat free yogurt. This lasts about 2 weeks. With a bit of luck someone will chip in who actually did your pre op diet. Nobody on here will call you a failure, we are a kind bunch. Please give yourself some love. You have gone through so much and you didn't mention Covid. That alone made me pack on another 30+ pounds. I was doing the best I could, so did you. Don't be a stranger anymore. Pop in whenever you can

    Crazy and Sad Realizations

Forgive and hug the child you were. There is nothing you can do to change that part of your life. Everything you learn from now on is the new you. We are reborn and with luck shouldn't remake the same mistakes. On wards and downwards

Eating carbs (pasta, rice, or bread )

Hello Gignac, Whatever you find that you like now may absolutely disgust you after surgery. Lots of us wasted money pre buying products that we have hated. Just buy a few and that way you won't be throwing loads away. Good luck with your upcoming surgery

    Feeling discouraged

I have had HS for so long. I was never told what it was called, I just thought it was the same as my father suffered fr. In my late 30' s and early 40's I suffered with stress and depression, and it seemed to make the condition so much worse. Use every avenue to get your surgery. Good luck

6 weeks post op ZERO WEIGHT LOSS AND DEPRESSED

You can eat way more than I could at 6 weeks out. I had a tough time of nausea and sickness. For months I only managed about 300 calories a day. Even now at 10 months out I can only manage 800 to 1000 Cals a day. This made me have slow weight loss because my body was holding on to everything, I managed to give it. So, let's see if we can find out what's going on with you Are you on regular foods now or still on pureed? We are all given different plans so we don't know what yours will be. Can you show a food diary for a typical day ? How is your protein intake ?

    Surgery day tomorrow

As I have said to everyone else who has said this question, myself very much included, we would not be human if we didn't fear the unknown. This surgery is a lifesaving game changer, if only you could see me and others who have had the courage to go before you, you would run to the operating theatre. If this is the right time for you to do this, then you will find the courage to get inside the hospital tomorrow. After that the staff will take over and you will be in safe hands. They know what they are doing even if we don't. Just believe and breath.

Finally i can buy clothes again

Is it not the best feeling, just fitting in with the crowd and not standing out. There are so many shops that I could buy from now that all my adult life has not stocked my size. Like @Tufflaw I buy from Ebay or second-hand shops as I go down the sizes so quickly. Now I need a winter wardrobe, so I am on the lookout for that. I wonder if your friend will know you. Lots of people in my small town don't know its me anymore. Long live our new lives
