I'm at the early stages of going the procedure route, and I'm looking for any feedback good or bad. It will really help me make this decision if I get feeback from people who have gone through this procedure and not just what the clinics tell.

I am so happy I made the decision to have it done. It hasn't been easy, but much easier than I thought it would be. Four months out and I feel so much better. I am no longer anemic, sugar was borderline high and is no more, my blood pressure is down, and I have so much fewer aches and pains. I can walk now without being miserable, I can find clothes that fit, and my neuropathy pain has decreased. The hardest part for me has been the mental adjustment. I used food when I was bored, happy, mad, and anxious. My brain is adjusting to how I handle these emotions without food. It's a good thing but difficult. Totally worthwhile!

Just liquids.. no foods allow..only yogurt Jello Popsicles broth and the Protein shakes... I don't know how I will be able to do it.. but I will with God helps..we got this...

You can do it! Physically, you will probably not feel hungry. The Protein fills you up. It's the "mental" hunger that is difficult. All the food commercials, the emotional reasons we eat, etc. THAT is the difficult part, but part of the journey. Have some activities or someone to speak with that can fill the void. Post a pic on your fridge or a reminder about why you are doing this.

  3. Is anyone else struggling with the taste of Protein after surgery? Before surgery with my 2 week Liquid Protein diet, I had no issues, but now all the Protein Drinks and GENEPRO taste like straight-up chemicals. I can barely get it down due to the smell and taste. I am having trouble meeting my protein requirements of 65 g per day because of this. Natural protein foods don't bother me like chicken, hamburger, Beans, etc., but I can't eat enough of that to make up the difference and need supplementation.
