I am 3 months post op and I am just now starting to workout. Dr didn’t clear me for a while due to some abdominal pain I’d been having. Im eating a Protein Shake in the am, deli roll ups with cheese and veggies for lunch, chicken for dinner with veggies. I consume almost NO CARBS. I do about 30-45 minutes on the elliptical and I also walk a 2.25 mile bridge by my house. (3 times a week minimum) Sometimes i do the weight machines but I’m easing into that. And Im NOT LOSING A POUND. Been at a stall for 3-4 weeks now. I’ve actually gained a pound which blows my mind because im definitely in a calorie deficit. Anyone else experience this when they started working out? Words of encouragement? Advice? Tips? Please please please help!

I’m down 36LBS from surgery weight but 51 down from highest weight! I STILL have some muscle soreness and definitely some mental anxieties.

I found one in “the complete bariatric cookbook and meal plan”
chocolate pudding Protein pops
One 3.9 OZ Package of chocolate flavored instant pudding
2 cups cold low fat milk
2 scoops chocolate Protein Powder
I haven’t made it yet but I am going to try a chocolate Protein Shake and the pudding mix!JustJazzy reacted to this -
Glad to hear you pulled through!!! What phase are you in? What day was your surgery?

I thought I was the only one who woke up in pain! Sorry you went through it too but glad I’m not alone. My surgery was March 18th and I STILL have abdominal pain. How is yours? -

Congratulations!!!! SO happy for you!!! Sharing your success brings so much hope to the rest of us! You are an inspiration!

Have you considered the sleeve or band? It is my understanding that they have less severe/long lasting side effects.

I’m 3 weeks post op and I feel the same way. 21lbs down. I find myself having intrusive thoughts like “will this surgery really work for me?” Also I feel like I haven’t felt full yet.

Oof! So sorry to hear you’re in pain!
I have not yet experienced this. (I’m starting the puréed stage tomorrow). You’re in my thoughts!!! Hang in there!!!nessie and Tracyringo reacted to this -

@jnfinney Im doing better! Thank you for asking about me. 🥰
I called my dr. and they said to take Tylenol in between the oxy doses. I am using a binder and I got a compression tank top and it is a game changer. I also started using a heating pad and it’s helped a lot too. Im finding that a lot of it is just learning how to manage the pain and adapt around it.Kimberly1983@@ reacted to this -
Are you taking Tylenol on top of the pain meds you received from your doctors?

Hey all. I had my sleeve 3/18. I am 3 days post op and in excruciating pain. Particularly one incision where they put the staple gun in me and pulled out my excess stomach. The doc said they put a suture in my abdomen so I don’t get a hernia and this seems to be the cause of my pain. It literally hurts to sit, stand, squat, wipe, etc. is anyone else experiencing this intense level of pain from their suture/incision site? It is almost debilitating and I am contemplating callin my dr first thing in the am or going to the Er.

Oof I’m 3 days post op and my main incision site is stinging tremendously. That whole general area feels rather swollen as well. It literally stings when I go to sit and stand and also when I initially start walking. After I get to walking for a while, it feels better but this is extremely painful. I’m wearing my binder and have been since day 1 but I don’t know what else to do and I just want to break down and cry it hurts so bad.

My eyes burn and my whole body itches. I think it’s some kind of reaction to the pain meds (oxycodine)

Hey there. I believe the experience is different for every person but I’m happy to share mine so far. I just had my sleeve 3/18, two days ago. I am still in pretty intense pain. I stayed 1 night in the hospital and they sent me home but I felt like staying another night would have been beneficial. I cannot wipe myself after I urinate as it is extremely painful to bend/reach. I also cannot pick anything up off the ground or put socks or shoes on. I have to have someone help me pull up my pants after using the restroom as well. I highly recommend against returning to work so early. I couldn’t imagine trying to work in 1 or 2 days from today. I didn’t feel that anyone truly prepared me for the pain so it was quite a shock for me when it hurt as bad as it did. I don’t mean to scare you but i wish someone would have prepared me better. Best of luck on your journey!!!On 03/19/2021 at 20:35, Mark P3 said:
Howdy folks
I’m scheduled for surgery on 3/24 and was wondering how much help I’m going to need to get around? I have a 7 month pregnant wife and just want to make sure I don’t need her to overexert herself to help me.
Thanks

Yeah, I’m trying to get up and move and walk as much as possible but wow. Sure is sensitive.

My surgery was 3/18 and I am experiencing the same thing.
That particular incision send shooting pains when I go to sit/lay/squat. It is very difficult to wipe myself after I pee. It is extremely painful when I get out of bed too. I’m wearing a binder and they seems to have helped a little but wow...was not expecting it to hurt this much.heysam and Colleen reacted to this -
