    Water water water

I find that drinking plain cold water doesn’t agree with my body, BUT when I warm my water up and make tea, I can get at least 60 oz in a day. Warm liquids go down way better than plain cold water.

    10 months post-op

This is all great advice!! I upped my water intake since Monday when I made this post and I’ve lost 3lbs. Since I’m drinking more water through tea, I haven’t been hungry enough to eat more than 800 calories…if I even reach that. This is all a HUGE learning process for me that never ends.
  3. I’m currently 10 months post op. I was sleeved March 12, 2021 at 200 lbs. I’m 5’3 and weigh 149 currently. These last two months have been the slowest months for me. Like 3-5 lbs per month. I know, it’s Heart breaking 😒. What I’ve realized is because I’m smaller, my body requires less calories to lose, so I googled a calorie calculator and I have to eat 680 CALORIES TO KEEP LOSING. That’s insane!! I would starve every single day and be miserable, but my goal weight is 110-120. Has anyone else gotten to my weight and dealt with the struggle of trying to continue to lose weight on such low calories? How did that work for you? I’m currently trying to substitute meals with tea, so I can manage 680 calories. I guess it’s working lol.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I had surgery March 12th and have only lost 43 pounds. I’ve been stalled since the end of July and hope I can finally reach a 50 lb loss or more for the holidays 😩.

How often do you weigh in?

At the end of every month. I was slipping into a depression because I hit a stall but was still eating only 800 calories. This works best for me. I just listen to my body And how it feels.

    Nausea with pills

Bariatric vitamins are loaded with lots of nutrients, so you do need to coat your stomach prior to taking them. I personally can’t stomach mine whether I have food or not. I tried to take my multivitamin with iron and I threw it back up. I actually can’t stomach food or water currently so hopefully this will pass. I hope things have gotten easier for you.

    Nausea

I’m 4 weeks post op and feel the exact same way. Anything with flavor makes me want to puke. The only thing I can stomach is Greek yogurt bars by yasso. Water even makes me nauseous. My nausea medication makes me nauseous lol. It’s all bad over here. When I do attempt to eat I have to close my nose so the smell of my food no matter what it is doesn’t make me Puke it back up. I’m just about ready to throw all the food away in my freezer. This too shall pass I guess.

    Full liquid diet

The sight of jello, bone broth and any soup makes me want to hurl. I just stocked up on premier protein shakes and I like those very much. I’m only 7 days post op and it’s been very difficult consuming more than 250 calories. Those shakes do help.
  9. You definitely won’t be able to take excedrin post-op being that it’s an NSAID. Only Tylenol. You should work out that kink prior to surgery. My bariatric nurse even told me they can compound nsaids into ointments to be used topically post op. You have quite a few options. Good luck!
  10. I just had VSG 3/12 and had to stay at a family member’s house since I was unable to drive myself around. These last few days have been filled with temptations!!!! She’s brought chicken nuggets/fries, chipotle, Alfredo/garlic bread, pizza, cinnamon fried donuts, etc. home. And of course I’ve just been creeping around the kitchen staring at all of it like a chicken nugget won’t hurt... even though I’m only 4 days post op and I can only get down popsicles and ice chips. I starve every single day all day and it’s been trying times. I would never jeopardize my weight loss and health for a darn chicken nugget, but it’s definitely a mind game. I feel like I’m in an episode of jigsaw. I definitely need to go home where the only thing I have in the kitchen is protein powder and pudding. How did you guys get through trying times and temptations?? What did you tell yourself?

    Stall on weight loss

Try taking miralax to get things going on the inside. It’s non stimulant so you can take it however many times you need. Mix it into protein shakes. Hope that helps.

    Weight gain issues

    What kind of medications?
  13. When I started my 3 supervised weight loss visits, my BMI was 34.9 and I gained weight at every visit, Which worked out well because 35 BMI is the minimum requirement. Long story short, I ended up getting approved by my insurance really quickly. I have BCBS AL PPO.
  14. I’m scheduled for the sleeve on March 12th. Woohoo 🎉. But my most recent weight loss attempt, I lost about 60 lbs from eating less than 1200 calories. One day I just gave in to everything in my freezer/pantry and ended up consuming over 4,000 calories in a night. I just couldn’t bring myself to stop since I had dieted for the prior 6 months strictly. The big question: is that possible after let’s say a year or two after the sleeve? How difficult is maintenance after a year or more with the sleeve? Have you been able to eat as much since before the sleeve?
