  1. Okay, so it seems this can happen as part of the natural ebb and flow of weight loss surgery then. I definitely agree with hormones as well, as I know the weight loss does throw things off until our bodies level out. If it continues for a longer period I’ll definitely call my doc but I feel great otherwise so I guess I’ll enjoy this pace while it lasts!
  2. I know this may sound ridiculous but in the past two weeks I’m experiencing rapid loss of about a lb a day, and I feel like it should be slowing down. Is it possible I’m not getting enough protein? I didn’t go through all of this just to wreck my body further and I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to be as healthy as possible. Is this just normal? From weeks 3-5 my loss slowed down a bit so maybe this is the normal cycle? I had sleeve if that makes a difference. I do drink all my water and I’m measuring out my food. I walk 5 days a week. If not normal I’m ready to call my doc. Crazy how unpredictable the body is!

    Building muscle post vsg

I used to love to lift weights. I’m well versed in it but I know I’m in a strange middle where I can’t lift weights yet but my surgeon gave me the okay for body weight exercises so I’m ready to do some!

I did ask my surgeon and she said as long as it’s just body weight like air squats and not abdominal it’s okay in small amounts. I definitely want to be cautious and not hurt myself. Just ready to get healthier, ya know?
  5. I had VSG on may 13 and I’m wanting to do body weight or resistance bands to start building muscle. Wanting to hear everyone’s experience and any tips and tricks for getting back into muscle building. Thanks!
