All I can tell you is just keep your mind busy. You can drive yourself crazy wondering if your hungry, sore, full or constipated! If your busy this month will go by quickly and life will get better.
Just drink lots of Water, try to get the Protein in, but walk around ALOT and keep busy.
time is your enemy, the more you think about things the more it will bother you.
your job is to drink water, protein and walk and before you know it you will be at week 5 sitting down to supper with the family eating 1/2 a chicken breast and carrots and will have forgotten all about the liquid diet I promise this too shall pass.

Love the sippy cup idea, As a fellow male trust me on this. Move Move Move as much as you can get the air out. To this day I Mostly get up and walk around about 4 times during a meal. Moving gets the new gut shifting around. As for the Acid refux call you Doc they have pills for this. Do not let it go on for to long or you will damage your throat like i did and have to get it stretched balloned....... It sucked
Now to the fact You did this to save your life for you kids, So did I .... of course they worry when things are out of kilter in the household. Took my kids a long time to get used to How dad eats and why No more Mc Ribs. It all plays out well and you are in the Bullshit phase it will get a ton better shortly

I am a month post op VSG and I can tell you that it gets much better fast. Try to get up and move around and stay as busy as you can to keep your mind active. The busier your mind is the less you think about it and faster time goes.
Keep that Water close and work on water and Protein and the rest will work itself out. The more you can move about and get that water in the happier your body will be in the long run!
Life will be normal in about a month, normal will look a little different and your plate will be smaller but we had our first real meal tonight (today was my first day off soft foods) and although my plate was small it was dinner as usual.
    Happy Holidays

Ok try this worked for my friend. Make you self some strong and I mean super strong Broths, Get yourself a big pot about 3 gallon and follow : how to make Chinese vegetable broth. Be careful on the Salt, as a trained chef you do not need to add all that salt. If it says 1 pound of carrots add 30% more to make it stronger. What you are doing is taking all the Vitamins and minerals out of the bases and making the Water Supercharged. You can do this with beef bones, chicken bones, Seafood ect. Now since you can not eat the meat yet Do not panic buy it fresh and freeze it when done to be eaten later. She sipped this all day long and it kept the hunger issue down and manageable. I did the same thing with a seafood broth and it kept me sane during the liquid only phase. As for x mas do not let it bother you, Just wait to see what Santa brings you next x mas when you down 75 pounds or more.

I know you're not asking about eating real food but just thought this might be helpful info which will make you not be tempted at all.
Food will hurt right now anyway. Even soft food hurt me during the "soft food" stage. Your stomach needs time to heal. You will be in a world of hurt if you tried to eat real food now, not to mention it could get stuck in your sutures and cause a leak.
Not going to lie -- this stage sucks.. I just ate sugar-free popsicles and Protein Drinks during that time. Some Jello. broth grossed me out & I didn't like it, so I only did that once.
I am going to do a "reset" after the holiday to see if I can shrink my pouch & kick start losing some more weight.. not looking forward to it. (reset is when you go back through the beginning stages -- liquids being the first step).
Some positives: you will likely lose the most weight during this period. And your stomach pouch will be the smallest it has ever been in this stage (7 months out & mine has stretched someone.. I wish I had my tiny pouch back)..
I wish I could give you some advice to help you feel better.. Just know this only lasts a few weeks -- it seems like an eternity when you're in the midst of it, but in a few months - it will just be a memory!

Just had my surgery on 12/15. They told me when I was already there. Plus I wasn’t allowed visitors. The nurses are super sweet and nice. It’s going to be okay. Trust me.
Literally just went through it. Plus you’ll get more attention and look after more. Consider it special care.
