I called the doctor office today just to see if they have a cancelation and they do! So excited, hopefully the band will work.

Charlene we get the LED's through DPL. We sell them here and can sell them cheaper than what DPL will charge but I am NOT trying to sell you anything. I own a commercial grade LED that costs as much as some people make in a year. The unit is from DPL will help but may take more treatments and it is not that expensive. You can strap it on or sit in front of it depends on what you are using it for. They sell theirs for $349.99 and it should last you years. I haven't been on here since August. I was waiting to see a doctor about my band because it never worked. I had to wait almost 6 months and my appointment was in the middle of Nov. I was doing well for awhile a book that I got really helped me, lost weight and then BAM I was back to eating sweets. Now here I sit eating a candy bar and waiting for another appointment to see the doctor in Jan. The place I was going to filled and unfilled me close to 20 times. The new doctor said they made have over filled it early on and ruined the band by strectching it out. When it strecthes out it does it an an area like a ballon, the whole band doesn't strectch just an area. Now I am where I am at and they are going to try to fill it and see if that was the problem or if it was over filled and my stomach strecthed out over the band and that is why I didn't feel full even though I would pb even things like lettuce. I just wished I could get in earlier even though it is the Holidays I would rather have a since of stability when dealing with the food issues. I am under a lot of stress because my business is slower this month compared to last year, my 18 year daughter charged with a felony because of haing pills on her and spent time in jail till I bonded her out and took her to rehab, my mother now has dementia and calls me up when she thinks some one took her cats. I opened the door and there they were running all over the place. Worried about paying our house payment and our bills. Worrying makes me EAT!

For a tighter tummy, a post that I read earlier. There is new lasers out there that even after one treatment will tighten the skin.

For Fibro, a post I read earlier. An LED light will help, you need red. I treat several of my patients with LED with Fibro. It helps so so much!

I have a 10cc Realize Band and I have had 13 cc put in. I had no restriction so they put in this thicker stuff and took out the 13cc of saline. I had problems eating some foods and PBing but I never felt full cause of my band. I don't care what I was eating I felt no restriction so I understand what Big Tom is saying. The reason people get the band is to feel full and stay full longer, I never did and I was banded July 4th 2008. I had close to 20 fills and unfills in less than a year with the band never working like it should. There is nothing wrong with the band nor the placement. I have given up and now I put the responsibility is all mine. I am no longer upset about spending $11,000 and still owe $5,000 but now I have tools that help me to stay away from the foods that I shouldn't eat. I don't eat healthy all the time but it is so much better and I don't eat any sweets. Good luck Big Tom I feel for you!

It would surprise you how much sugar and fat and salt they even put in their wraps and then the meat is loaded with all the above. Try even finding a wrap at a grocery store with no sugar added. Not one thing at McDonalds is with out sugar even Chilis. I even called Chilis several years ago and asked corporate if they had anything with out sugar and the answer was "No". I even went to Chick Fil A cause they say how healthy they are. The "natural" chicken breast is loaded with several types of sugars. I left. The book talks about why there are several different types of sugars listed in ingredients list. The reason why is if it was the same sugar it would be the first ingredient. This way it spreads out the sugar and makes it look not so bad. Tricky Tricky so glad I found this book. Yesterday marks 3 weeks of getting off the crap and my life is changing so much. I can focus on my family instead of going to my room and eating bowl after bowl of ice cream. The same problem I had before my band was the ice cream. Now I can safely say that it is over and I focus on staying away from the foods that draw me to more sugar. I bought my book from Borders and worth every $28 that I paid for it.

The End of Overeating , it was published this year or 2008. He used to be ahead of the FDA and he is the same person that went after the tobacco industry. He says he is going after the restaurants and companies that make food addictive. He talked to big wigs at the companies and they gave him some secrets. Of course they wouldn't give names but you can tell who they are. They even take Water out of foods and put fat in to replace them. He gave an example of Chilis Southwest Eggrolls and how they make them full of sugar, salt and fat so we would crave them. I used to eat them all the time so it was ironic reading about it!

I don't know who you are asking, shirley, but I am doing very very well. Today marks 3 weeks of eating healthy with no sweets. The book I got by David Kessler has been a god send. I am losing weight on my own with out the band. He says to have daily meal plans and stick to them. There was other helpful hints to of getting of the road of obsessive eating. He also talked about how the restaurants and food companies have specific departments to make the food addictive, and they know what they are doing but they rather turn a profit. Very interesting and enlighting book!

At this point I think I may just give up. I am thinking about having all the fill out of my band. Can't eat Pasta, rice, bread and maybe a few other things. The other night I ate a piece of chicken breast and all of a sudden I had to throw up. Boy, I threw up so hard I wet myself. Thought I was going to choke to death by myself, no one was home. I have been reading The End of Overeating by David E. Kessler, MD and that has helped me more than the band has. I am just tired of spending money on the band and taking away from my family.

the book by Suzanne Somers is called Breakthrough.

Has anyone read the lastest Suzanne Somers book? It was awesome. She recommends treatments for high cholesterol. I tried the bio-identical hormones, best thing I have ever done for myself. I had to have a hysterectomy when I was 35 and all I was on was estrogen. Started losing lots of bone and read in her book about testosterone and how that builds bone and muscle. I had spinal surgery in Oct. and I was not healing took the hormones and in weeks they healed. I am just suggesting about the book but I thought it was amazing.

There is many disappointments so far with July Butterflies. Makes me still wonder. I am still eating ice cream but I think I am getting more active. Lots more active since the band so that is a very very good thing. I used to be very active until the eating lead me into hell.

AT the beginning I weighed 208. I was not stopping. I was even closing my business to go get ice cream! I got down to 166 and now I weigh in the 180's. I haven't weighed I can tell just by looking at myself and my clothes don't fit any more.

The main reason I want my band to work it because of the mind game. My mind goes over and over and over and doesn't shut up until I eat the food. Donettes in the morning, cheap chocolate chip ice cream in the evening and some times one or the other during the day. I have high anxiety if I don't eat it. I don't know how to get past the anxiety so my brain will shut up. Does any one esle have the anxiety?

I called Garth Davis's office to see if they would take some one banded in Mexico and they wouldn't. I do have a new doctor I am going to drive 1 1/2 hours to but it will be worth it if my band finally works.

Thanks for posting info on the sleeve and the bypass. I am glad you did I am not going to pursue either one. I have a friend who had bypass 4 years ago and she is starting to gain. I think with the band you learn how to eat right and the others you just can't eat that much.

As of June I have had close to 20 fills and unfills now the band is too lose. Gaining weight back. Going to drive an hour and a half to see some one else because my other appointment with a new doctor I have to wait 5 months before I can be seen, he is very busy! I just wonder if the band does not work for all people.

I am so fustrated that I am looking into gastric bypass or the sleeve. Any suggestions? I am trying to get into see another doctor for a fill and they are 1 1/2 hours away. If they do it under flouro it is $350 with out it is $200. I am out close to $11,000 so I am going for the $200 since I have had the 20 fills and unfills with the flouro.

I went to Surgical Weight Loss Centers they are the ones where I have gotten about 20 fills and unfills. They just want your money was even suggesting me getting a new band!!! Heard the PA trying to sell a band during a consultation while we waited an 1 1/2 for my appointment. The walls where thin so my husband and I heard a lot.

So happy to see all the weight loss you guys have accomplished!!!!!

I always have my fills and unfill through flour and it is still not right. So I think you can't always tell that way either. Called another doctor to see if they could get me in sooner than Nov. 16 (actual appt. thought it was the 5th) they wanted $450 for consult with a fill and then after that $385 per fill or unfill!!!!!!!!!!! I am trying to find some one else. I am in the Kansas City area will travel some if any one knows another place to go.

I have had 20 fills and unfills. I have had the thicker stuff and then just the regular saline. I just had my year anniversary of being banded. I would never go to where I went. I am finally seeing a specialist Nov. 5th, they couldn't get me in any sooner. I went to Bajonar.

Today was a year for me. I am still in the same place as last year meaning still have not beaten the stupid eating disorder. I am better though and that is success!

My bandiversary is July 4th. I would like to lose 20-30 more.

Just had ice cream 2 times out of 7 days. That is really good for me glad I can eat normal foods with my band loser!

They put in 3 ccs after it was too lose and they use the xray machine. I was at 42 lbs. lost but I have gained 10.

I have made another appt. for a well known doctor but I can't get in until Nov. 5th! The band is still not tight enough with this last fill I can eat anything.

The band was too tight for months and months and they took at the stuff out that was thicker and put in saline last week at 4 ccs. It was too lose and when I went back in that is when they put in 3 ccs.

Another doctor office called and they said they don't do realize band fills but he could give me a consultation for $300!!!!!!!

This sucks!

I had mine done in Mexico and fills done here in Kansas City at Surgical Weight Loss Center. I did not have insurance to pay for my band that is why I went to Mexico on July 4th.

I hope I am not too late. I have gone to them since last July and have had nothing but problems. I had a band in Mexico so I didn't have many choices on where to go. I have had 20 fills and a couple of unfills. MOst of this done by Dec. because I didn't want to keep paying the $250 every time I went. So from Jan. and mostly Feb. I have been too tight. WEnt last week and they took 5 ccs out and had to go today and they put back in 3 ccs. He was suggesting that my band could not be tight enough so I needed another band. Knew he was fulll of crap because most of the time been too tight. I heard him "SELL" a lady who was getting a consultation for Lap Band. Thought this was very unprofessional for some one that is a PA and does fills. I thought he was selling me cause he hadn't hit his quota. Spent lots of money there and have wasted my time. Had a gut feeling when I went there last July they were not legit just like you were thinking. RUN!

Charlene sorry to hear about your husband. What is the update?

Also if you don't lose the 50-100 in the first year does that mean you probably won't lose much more? Now I am freaking out!! I still have about 25 lbs to go before I am considered at a decent BMI would be 25. I did only have about 14 pounds. I will weigh myself tomorrow.

I was trying to eat healthy until I was just throwing up everything even crab meat. I was eating Soups and chocolate malt o meal then I switched to icecream when it got hot. At the beginning I was watching what I was putting in my mouth and then it happened. Mostly eating the icecream to get something to eat.

I gained 1 1/2 pounds this week. I didn't eat ice cream for 2 days and watched what I eat. If I do it again today it will be 3 days in a row. I hear over and over take it 1 day at a time. I concentrate on that. I am sleeping a lot so I don't think of food or eat it. I tell myself that it is okay to sleep give myself a break and try to get ahold of this stupid eating disorder that I can't shake. I have accomplished so much in my life but I can't seem to be able to control this!

This morning we waited for 1 hour and 40 minutes while they was sorting out our bill so I could get a fill. Surgical Weight Loss Center has owed me $150 since last July and have never given my money back. Now they applied to Novembers bill that the insurance is paying for. Pissed me off waiting that long and they lied to my face saying that the bill paying had nothing to do with me waiting. Then I asked front desk and they told me it did. Well anyway, he put in 3 ccs and told me I may need another band. He is full of s@@t!!!! He was telling me he couldn't get it tight enough andI needed to do something!!!! Earlier when I was in my room waiting for him I could hear him "SELL" a Lap band to a lady during a consultation. I knew he was trying to sell me when he was saying I needed another band. I had a funny feeling when I was in there last July that they were not on the up and up and just wanted my money. But I kept going back cause I liked him. Stupid me. They just wanted my money and that is why they were jumping all over the place during fills and unfills. I never had a small amount of a fill or unfill it was always huge like 4 ccs and more. I have made an appointment with some one esle but the first avaiable is NOVEMEBER 5th!!!!!!!

Thank you! They took out all the thicker stuff that was at 8 cc and then put in 4 cc of the saline. They should have left the thick stuff in and took out 1 cc, right?

Tonight is two nights in a row I did not eat icecream. I didn't even eat it for lunch. I know that is not a big deal but it is a start.

I wonder if I should tell them to put in the thicker stuff but to have 1 cc less put back in. I have an early morning appointment and I wish I could give you my cell number so you could text me what you thought. I will look early in the morning before my 8:30 am Central time appt.

Thanks for the advice, I wish I thought of them just taking out 1 or just a 1/2 cc. They always took out 2cc or put in as much as 4 cc's at a time.
