Today is day 4 for me. Still not doing as well as I thought. My intistines are still not making their own gas and still in pain. Can't find any doctors to see me that does Lap Band surgery. They all suggested going to the ER. I am sure if I go to the ER my insurance will not pay for it so I am going to wait 1 more day. I have absolutely no restriction and can swallow pills and eat anything. Any one else have this? I am starting to kick myself for not looking into better places to have Lap Band than Bajanor where I went. Hope every one else is doing well!

I have insurance under my business name, they really can't turn you down for anything. Be quite about your band. All the insurances will find out because "they" talk to each other and so does the pharmacies. All that info on you goes to like your credit bur. and is keep on file and that is how the insurance companies deny or grant you insurance. I found that out when trying to get health insurance not under our business and was turned down. Was told I was a diabetic when I was not. I filled a prescrip. for diabetic med for help stop surger cravings. It was filled 5 years ago and nothing since for diabeties. I was banded on the 4th had complications cause of my intestines were not waking up. Came back home yesterday. Had to get up at 4:15 am and ride in a van, pick up some one and then go to the border. The border wasn't too bad but couldn't hardly stand or walk and that was required for some reason, no wheel chair around. Then get back into the van go to airport. Got stuck in an airport elevator. Had to wait an hour for the plane. The plane ride was 3 hours and the ride home 45 minutes. I would never EVER suggest any one having surgery in Mexico. They did't even know English to tell my husband that I was allergic to many pain meds, couldn't even ask for Jello or a band aid. The comforter on the bed had holes in it like the pillows. Never got to talk to a dietician or never got explained on some liquid medicine that I has gone in the trash. So I am sooooooooo glad some one on this chat site suggested this book-Weight Loss Surgery with the Gastric Lap Band. I could have not done it if my husband did not go. I didn't even get to the hotel was in the "hospital" until I left. Maybe not all Mexico clinics are the same. Be warned though the pictures they show you on the site may not be where you will be or actually the doctor you will have. I went to Bajanor so it may be different other places. Plus they were going to pay for my husband's flight. Don't think so they asked for $321 more dollars, did not aurgue with them much just showed them an email and told them I could have purchased the tickets myself and saved close to $300. Today I am a little better but still not up to what I think others have been. There is no way I will be able to work tomorrow and I have a sedantary job. I hope Wednesday. I got banded last night around 5:00 in Mexico. I feel okay, I have walked around. Not moving any gas which is extrememly imprortand and when you don't you get stomach cramps that really hurt. They have given me medicine for it and it is still not working. So now I have to be up and around for 2 hours straight. He said that this is really unusual so don't worry about that. Surgery is super qucik and so is recovery and then you go to you hospital room. I hopefully will be living here in a couple of hours and then going to a hotel room which I hope is more comfey!

A huge hello to everyone! I am getting banded tomorrow in Mexico. I just can't wait. Not scared at all. Ready for all this madness of years of food having control of me to end and me able to enjoy my life. I married my sister's first boyfriend 10 years later after they had broken up and I ran into him on a street with my sister. That was it! I have 2 kids a seventeen year old girl who is a pain and a 12 year old boy who has been ill since he has been born. He has a skin disease, very bad asthma, growth problems and had many grand mal siezures when he was born. He is wonderful I love him. He goes to regular school and very smart, has lots of friends. We don't let his health hender him. Well I think after he was born the being able to control myself left me couldn't handle the stress and worry. Last fall he was hospitalized for close to 3 months with us being transferred to a hospital 12 hours away. So here I am ready to get over this and start a different way of life. I own my own business I work at one location my husband the other. It is going very well. I love it, my favorite thing I have ever done in my 44 years of life. I could have been on TV and also was VIP at a fashion show but did not go cause of my weight. Plus I have missed some fabulous parites. Just too self consious of my weight. I will let you know how every thing goes tomorrow. My husband and I are bringing the computer with us. Sending all the well wishes to every one that is on this chat site! The fourth day it gets so much easier. So it won't bother you too bad. Today is day 6 for the liquids. Gets so easy just another way of life. YOu do think of food though and think of your old habits. Have the big picture in your head and it will help!

Has any one heard of them? I picked them only because I liked their website, stupid wasn't it? I searched others and just liked theirs and now I am beginning to wonder about how they are. Any help?

Okay, I been wondering this for the last couple of days. If we can do liquid diets some up to 3 weeks then why can we not control what we eat other times and not have the band? I am wondering if I can do this why should I spend the money on getting the band if I am going to have to have the strength of liquid diets? Is it because we see an end to all this madness of struggling with food?

About the Slimfast I think why all the carbs are in there is for energy. Carbs give you energy. Protein makes you feel fuller longer. Any one esle on this?

Any suggestions about the liquid diet. I am worried about that! I had some chicken broth and I added garlic salt, Lawrys Seasoning Salt, Thyme and dill and it tasted pretty good. I am on a pre-op diet until my band on July 4th. good luck and good job!

I am getting banded on July 4th and I have been on yogart,oatmeal and I started slimfast and broth on my own. Couldn't just eat yogart and oatmeal for a week. I have been on it since Friday today is Monday and have lost 6lbs.! I have been walking trying to get myself better in shape for surgery. I can't wait! I am just anxious to get the first fill during that time it sounds like you are losing weight while you are on a special diet waiting for your stomach to heal. It sounds difficult because you do not have the band to use as a tool.

Kris suggestion really helped me about putting the slimfast in the freezer. I can't stand the taste so I chug it and when it is that good it takes pretty good.

I am only on day 2 of the oatmeal, yogart diet. I feel so wozy, even as I write this I am. Starting to shake. I have till Thursday of this and then Friday I don't get to eat at all and my surgery is in the evening. I see that there is going to be an end to this madness of this eating disorder that I have and I think that is what is going to hel me through this. I could not cook for anyone! I don't see how you are doing that! I tried Slimfast last night and did not like the chocolate tasted kinda funny. Couldn't stomach it. Any other suggestions?

Can we talk about the pre op diet? Mine is only oatmeal, yogart, cranberry and apple juice one week before surgery. What is every one's elses?

They have conferences? Wow, how fun! I think I might try to work out but I am soooo tired all the time. Thought if I worked out before I go it may help me get better soon. My date is July 4th but still 2 weeks is better than nothing. Has any one esle done this to get ready?

Thank you that was nice of you to say I look great. I once modeled bikinis so , I now weigh over 200 and see not end in sight. I have been fighting an eating disorder for 30 years I want it over with. Even thought about tatooing myself -BANDED JULY 4 2008. I hate tatoos for myself but I feel like I am going to finally have some relief and some help with this! I think I may get a ring with the date on the inside of it.

Are you going to the same place as I am? I don't even know the doctor's name. I didn't even have insurance cause I am self employed. My husband called and we are getting insurance on July 1st. Just in case. My package included the air fare. Did you chose one that didn't?

I am going to Bajanor. I can't wait. Going myself probably. I don't care I am not scared I just want this stupid eating problem to go away and get a life with out food. I am getting banded in Mexico on July 4th! I love that date. I have to come up with $2600 by the 27th, the rest is financed. Think positive thoughts for me please!
