    "Qualified Candidate"????

To be a qualified canidate you must fufill all your duties with the psych , and nutritionalist. You must also have a Bmi of usually over 35, and have tried multiple other ways to lose weight. They basically want to make sure that you have the ability to be successful in this . Good luck to you!

    Weight gain after 2nd fill

I would not worry to much about the weight gain. I would attribute that to like post op when you go from liquids and mushies to regular solid food. You see a lot of people on here who gain during that period. Give it a couple of days, make the right food choices and exercise. Wishing you positive thoughts and good health.

    wls before surgery?

I think most surgeons and insurance companies require that you try to lose weight before the preop. They want to see that you have tried all avenues in losing weight, and that you don't think this is just a quick fix.I was required to lose 15 pounds before they would do my surgery. I know for me I was desperately trying to get this weight off even before seeing a surgeon. Good luck to you.

Breakfast ideas that don't involve EGGS!

You can get oatmeal that has low carbs. I believe quakers weight contol is one them. I also eat cottage cheese with fruit in it. You could also try a Protein shake and a piece of fruit. I do apples with Peanut Butter on them, things that are simple but still have protein. Good luck to you.
  13. Like it was said before, it would be a good thing to go and get another fill, if they refuse to give you one then you should see a diffrent surgeon. Keep your head up and don't be discouraged, its a long road but one that is defintely worth it. Good luck to you.

    14cc band ?

I'm not really sure of the difference but I have read that most surgeons are not using the smaller bands anymore. Good luck

    Starting out my Journey!

Welcome Barney, Comgrats and good luck on the start of your journey!
  20. I also feel very sore after stuck experiences. I would eat light today and if it continues call your surgeon.
  21. First off getting the lap band done is not the answer for everything. It is a tool, a tool that you must work with. You must "follow" a diet of protein rich foods and exercise to be truly successful. You will lose weight without exercise but not nearly as much as the person who chooses to exercise. As far as following a diet, there are things you need to do to be successful such as eating a lot of protein, staying away from high fat foods, and eating several small meals throughout the day. The wonderful thing about the band is it brings it all together, allowing you to be satisfied sooner and eat less. It is a journey to get to the place of a good amount of restriction, you must get fills and follow the rules of the band. For some people it takes 1 fill , for others it takes 10 fills, it really depends. Good luck to you, I know this was the best decision I have ever made, and I hope your decision either way is to.

    Just welcoming myself!

Welome Amy and congrats on the start of your journey! Keep us updated!
  23. Is this your nerves talking? Don't be nervous this is a wonderful tool. But be realistic with yourself, if you are not 100% ready then wait a little. Everyone is nervous about this , but when it is all said and done the band is great. I wish you luck in your decision, keep us posted.
  24. I can feel my port when I sit a certain way or when I'm lying down. After you heal though you should not feel it as prevelent as right after surgery.
