    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Yes, I should have looked at my notebook a little closer! Lol I called a friend that had the operation over a year ago because I was afraid to throw up because of hurting my insides. She helped me thru it, but I was miserable going to bed last night. MUCH BETTER THIS MORNING!!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Sorry I said that! I had misspoke - I did have it yesterday, and I had trouble last night. I thought I was doing good. No throwing up episodes like some others ,but yesterday I got too sure of myself. After I ate it I felt full but not uncomfortable, but at lunch I got uncomfortable and it got worse until evening, and didn’t have any supper.....it got worse, and I ended up throwing up. Still was uncomfortable when I went to bed. But made it thru the night. So today I’m back to behaving! You don’t want that! Don’t do it. Don’t do it!!

The 2 lbs. IS my stall. It hasn’t changed for 2 weeks. This may not be my stall, but I’m 6 weeks post op. I’m sure there will be more stalls according to all I’ve read so far. We just gotta keep keeping on!🤺

I had the same image as you!!! Then when I had my 6 week checkup my PA asked my weight - it was 188- she was pleasantly surprised! She had it prefigured out I would be between 196-197!! That made my day when I had been feeling like you!! No worries! We got this!!!
  7. WOW, lady!! You have done it!!! I bow to you! How long ago was your surgery? Sounds like you had a total INSIDE makeover to get ready for the outside makeover!! That was a lot of work they did in there. Hope all continues to go well! You are awesome!

Hi Jennie! please don’t worry about the amount of weight you lost. Just keep keeping on, you have lost a very normal amount of weight for your time out from surgery! So many things go into determining weightloss, including that everyone is different. I am 6 weeks out from surgery and I only lost 20 lbs. since my surgery date, 23 lbs. total. I had been averaging 4 lbs. a week, until last week, I only lost 1 pound!! This week, only 2 lbs.!! So I broke my streak! I was bummed out too. But look - WE ARE STILL ON THE LOSING SIDE!!!. Some weeks are going to be like that. Some weeks will be a stall! Just keep doing what your doing ! You’re doing awesome!!
  9. Congrats on your weightloss! I just started regular food this past week, and I’m anxious to see, or maybe NOT SEE? If I lost anything! But yes, the fact of eating regular food, PROTEIN FIRST, is awesome.

    BIG DEAL!🥴

I’m a bit bummed! I weigh myself on Sundays, and last week I was 189, This week - get ready for it! 188!!! Anybody else have the 4th week slump? I guess I should be glad I didn’t GAIN! It’s not the ultimate worst thing, just thinking of how hard it is to go through all this and find I lost so little. I know one big thing has changed from before surgery. I used to do better going to the bathroom, but since being on these vitamins with iron, things have quickly changed. So I’m in the middle of changing my multivitamin and adding magnesium which I took presurgery, so I’m hoping I will begin to lose better again. I’ve also changed to a lower protein shake, and that may be affecting it as well. I have begun to add flavorless protein to some of my food, so I hope that will help as well. Does anyone else have some words of wisdom they could share with me, and have many of you gone thru this same phenomena as well, please chime in! Misery loves company!😫🎉🤣 Still tryin! And thanks ahead of time!

Thank you for that encouragement! Sorry you had to experience it to tell me, but I’m glad to know it will be normal and not to worry! ☺️
  13. So sorry, you’ve had such a long delay. I know how frustrating it is, as mine had been delayed too, but now I’m on the other side, and soon you will be too. with the holidays the day will be here before you know it. All the sudden —- it’s here!!! Happy for you that the excess skin surgery will also be cared for! Wow- that’s terrific! You are very fortunate! Wish you all the best in your new journey!

    Pre-Op Acne

I’m 68, and I am 5 almost 6 weeks post surgery. I recently noticed that across my shoulders and over the edge of the tops of my arms has what I call “underground pimples”!! So you all think it’s out with the bad, and in with the good, eh? Hope you’re right, it feels terrible, almost like a rash it’s so bumpy. Not sore, just bumpy. Wow! At 68!

    BIG DEAL!🥴

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and you’re right. I just had to vent I guess. It was discouraging, but not defeating. This will be a long journey. If I can live on 4-6 oz. food at a meal for the rest of my life, I’ll be happy with that! Tonight I ate a taco., with a small soft shell. One taco! And I was full and happy! that’s all I want. If I can lose with those small meals, I’ll have it made.

A normal day of food post op?

Thanks so much for sharing, and for your honesty! I haven’t yet had any smoothie like your breakfast one. I just can’t seem to muster the thots of drinking spinach! But maybe...... Awesome job on your weight loss, and keeping tabs on all your food, too. I’ve been writing it down, but I don’t know the calorie content. I just know that with my small portions, I have to be in good range. My water is lower than 56, but I keep watch on the color of my urine, as the dr. told me I didn’t have to drink as much as I did at the beginning. But the dietician might have a different idea to help lose weight. Thank you again for your food for thought!

    1st month stall?

I’m in the same boat, but I did lose 1 lb. this week. Sad, but hearing others have or are going thru it helps to know we’re not abnormal. Thanks to all who ‘weighed’ in!

A normal day of food post op?

I do believe we will ALL (on this journey) have to watch overeating! I know for sure I will. And AWESOME CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGH LOSS!!! WOW! YOU ARE INSPIRING! AND I LOVE BLUEBERRIES TOO! (Could be a worse food). Keep up the great work and I hope you continue to be satisfied with less! Merry Christmas!

It happens to all of us. I went 2 weeks with no loss and I was doing everything that I was supposed to. Yes I also had/have problems with the iron. Might need to add a stool softener as iron causes constipation for most people. Keep on doing everything that you are supposed to (water, protein and vitamins etc..) and you will eventually start losing again. If you read thru these forms, there are lots of people who stall. Usually around the 3rd or 5th weeks. Hang in there! Dee

  23. Hi Chelsea! What a pretty name! How are you doing? You are further along than I am, so you must be on regular foods? I’m so looking forward to that! How have you made that adjustment? Are you still drinking the shakes? what has been the hardest for you of going into regular food? So you got to eat a real Thanksgiving dinner? Small, I know but not puréed! Do you work outside the home? Are you back to work? Did you have a good surgical experience and you’re healing well? I had a great surgery, but I wouldn’t recommend going to the hospital I went to. I’m senior age, and they didn’t get me up walking til the 3rd shift came on. I kept asking, and they said they would be back to get me but never did til the middle of the night. Fun!! But other than that, maybe all of us getting our surgeries this year have had different experiences because of Covid. It’s a good excuse anyways....
  24. I too am on my last week of soft food, and things have been going well. I’m looking forward to but apprehensive about starting new foods. I know this will sound crazy, but I was dying for something new to eat besides chicken and vpbeans, so I made pork and sauerkraut in the crock pot with a little stevia brown sugar. Ooooooh that was sooooo good!! I think I ate a little more than I should have cuz I did have a little trouble with upper gas pain, but it didn’t last too long. So I tried it again the next day and I cut back my serving a little and I was good! Can’t have New Years without pork and sauerkraut!!😍

Isn’t that an amazing mood booster!!! So glad you were able to get out. It’s so easy to want to stay tucked inside with the weather being colder now, but I even got to drive 2 times this week!! Yay!! Freedom!!!
