I agree with trying to see a therapist, but that can be very hard to find if you didn't do your surgery with a big surgery center in the US or where you live. I've heard that places outside the US (especially Mexico, Turkey, etc) don't provide much support after surgery, and I know from experience that finding a therapist trained in weight issues can be very hard.
I would try to work on things like figuring out what you are feeling when you decide to order take out. Are you tired, bored, sad, angry, lonely? If any of these things are the problem, eating take out is not the solution. If you wait until you are over tired or way too hungry to eat, you are more likely to make bad choices with what to eat. It's not hard to keep better choices on hand. Try keeping low sugar flavored Greek yogurt, tuna, Protein Shakes, cheese, fruit, etc on hand.
I travel a lot so I eat out, but I try to choose the best possible option (high Protein, low carb) and when I'm home, I make something with ground turkey or chicken like chili, taco meat, ground turkey stroganoff, etc and divide it in portions to freeze so I always have something that takes two minutes to heat up. It takes much less time than ordering take out.
I don't wait after drinking to eat (my surgery center said we didn't have to) but I definitely don't drink after eating - it's painful to me, plus we were told it would just flush the food down our stomach and we'd be hungry sooner.
Try to get yourself to track, even if it's only every other day. You said you've been working since May 2021 on getting this surgery. There's no second chance after this. Even if you have a revision surgery, you may not lose much weight. It's now or never.

When those old habits are strong it can be very hard to stop them controlling your choices.
You’re not alone. Managing cravings & changing old habits is one of the most difficult thing to work through post surgery. For many of us, they never leave us & are always there. We just find ways to take control of them.
First get any junk food out of your house, delete the home delivery apps, delete the takeout phone numbers, & throw out any take out menus. Second, get in touch with a good therapist who specialises in eating disorders. (Did you see someone as part of your approval process? If not your medical team can recommend someone.) The therapist will support you to work through what’s driving you to eat & find strategies to manage those cravings & old habits.
It’s pretty darn difficult to stretch your tummy but these glory days of weight loss don’t last. Your real hunger comes back, the weight loss slows, you’ll be able to eat larger, more recommended portion sizes. You need to grasp all the opportunities the surgery initially gives with two hands.
    All the best.

I had RNY April 13th 2021… I set a goal in my mind of 100lbs and I would be happy. Today, I weighed in at 179lbs. 9 months after surgery, I am down 101lbs.

No regrets, no complications, life is beautiful.

Just wanted to share with you all.

It's so crazy how it works!! I actually ran 5k in my neighborhood last weekend and felt like I pushed it, but didn't feel like I was going to die so it works!

Congratulations! I'm in the middle (literally) of Couch-to-5K right now, so at the sort of 8 minutes 5 minutes 8 minutes bit. But my pace is getting better and better and I'm confident I'll break a 10-minute mile once I can run ten minutes all at once. And, like you, I never thought I'd be a runner, but here we are!

Every year our boys' PE hosts a Turkey Run and invites staff to run the mile. Never have I EVER even thought about walking it. Too embarrassed about how I looked, what would jiggle, how long it would take me, that I'd be huffing and puffing... you know all the reasons why. Today, I RAN with them. RAN!! Some of them were still faster, but I had to giggle at all the stragglers who would all of sudden find the energy to run when their librarian was coming up behind them! We were supposed to do 4 laps. I ran 6 and walked 2. So proud of myself. I never, ever thought I'd be a runner. EVER. I started a Couch to 5K app in July, and now I can run 40 consecutive minutes! I'm running 2.5 miles 3 days a week, and I'm signed up to run a 5k in February with the school's team.

Wow... it sounds like both you and your boyfriend have been through a lot lately. Maybe you need to seek counseling - either one or both of you together. Communication is going to be pivotal for you - both in voicing your needs and HEARING what the other person is saying.

I got my pedicure and realized they could wrap the hot towel around each of my calves instead of having to drape multiple towels over both to try and cover them!
I was also able to wear my oldest daughter's sweater!

I bought a size large bra! A size LARGE! And... I've never bought fun socks because I couldn't get them up my calf. They always slouched at my ankle! Check out my protest socks!

    1. Went to a baseball game and easily fit into the stadium seat without bruising my hips. Never used to stand up and cheer because, by the end of the game, it hurt too much.
    2. Now instead of wondering if something makes me look fat, I have to wonder if it will stay up or if it's time to go in the donate pile. Went through 3 pairs of jeans the other day...oh the struggle
    3. Bought a large t-shirt as my gauge for my next size... you know thinking I'd be into maybe in a couple of months. It fit! Like I can go out in public in it FIT!
    4. Having so much more energy!!

I don't travel AT ALL for my job - I'm jelly BTW - but my hubby does. Is there a way that your company can book you into one of those extended stays or something with a kitchenette?
