Started the process for gastric sleeve in March 2020, then COVID hit! Finally had surgery on Aug 10, 2020. I am 5’11” and weighted 251.8 lbs on the day of surgery/BMI 35. I had my suggestion outpatient with no narcotics for pain relief and really didn’t need it!! I was given an abdominal block during surgery that lasted hours after the procedure. I was home from work for 2 weeks. By 3 weeks post-op I began to feel normal and by 4 weeks I was feeling really good!! 6 weeks post-op and I am down 30lbs and have gone from size 20 jeans to 14! I am loving going walking with my Labradoodle Bear!! I feel more confident and happier!! My surgeon was Eric Atcheson with Southwest Bariatric Surgeons in Austin, TX. My surgery was done using robotics and he is considered one of the most experienced around here. He is a great physician and has a warm and personable bedside manner!!
