  1. Thank you both for your responses! @GreenTealael - That is the hard part, I feel like what they pay for is the traditional goodies, so substitutes would be good for home, but not for what I give away. I get though just not making as much, or certain things like you used to. @BigSue - Wow!!! I’m very proud of your self control! That is awesome! Everything you said made so much sense. I think now that I’ve gotten my cookie recipe and icing where I really like it, I’ll write down the exact measurements and just follow my recipe perfectly every time. That way, I don’t I’ll know without tasting, that it’s good. Finished products are usually easy to avoid because I’ll always have one (or more lol) that’s not pretty, and my kids or husband will taste and report back how it is. Last night I made cake balls, and I just had a bite of the baked cake and chewed for texture but spit it out. I just feel like while I know a sweet treat is fine here and there, I don’t want a slippery slope to happen like you said.
  2. I set mine in increments, so like reward at -50, then -75, -100. Currently I’m -46 so come on -50! My rewards list: New hair day New tattoo day clothes shopping And for my husband and I both (he only has 30lbs to lose of course lol) we want an exercise bike to add to our home gym.
  3. Wow, I’m sorry you are going through this!!! That is awful! To be honest, it’s hard to say what is related purely to your WLS and not the covid and pancreatitis. Throw all that together while recovering from a major surgery, that is a huge deal. I’m glad you are doing better, and hope that you continue to do well. Getting better each day! Hugs!!!!!

Glad you are doing so well @mil_unloaded!!! Things are going fine over here as well. Down 46 lbs from my highest, about 39 since pre op (-19) and then post op so far. I’m excited to be starting soft foods and had some deli meat and cheese today and I was so happy. Lol! I’ve actually tried a few things over the last few days. So far everything has been well. I definitely can feel when something sits really heavy. It just is so nice to feel like I’m eating “real” food again.
  6. I’m really sorry you are experiencing all this! It sucks and you have every right to feel crappy! I would try to follow what your surgeon says but if you need to throw a “snack” in there, I think if you are staying within your macros without grazing all day, then the snack is fine. As for the hair loss, I have no advice besides I’m so sorry. This is something I’m so nervous about myself. I have PCOS, and have been losing my hair for a couple years, so I’m very concerned how much worse it will get. I already have an area that’s very thin and I’m afraid it will push it to a bald spot. I keep trying to remind myself that it is temporary! It WILL grow back. Though I know it’s hard to keep telling yourself that. You have done such a great job getting to where you are at. Keep pushing along!! You have made such great strides already! Hugs.
  7. Yay for getting a date!!! It won’t be long and you’ll be on the path to a better you!

    What can I eat

I’m not quite to foods like this yet but my plan does allow cereals but I’m going to avoid them also. Cereal is a trigger food for me. I cannot stop myself from huge unrealistic bowls. It’s better to just steer clear of those things! So good for you for avoiding it!!

    Body dysmorphia before VSG?

Yes definitely! I would have this picture in my head of what I looked like (was also not overweight until basically adult hood). Then I would see a picture, usually like a candid picture and be like omg that’s what I look like?! It was very shocking. And disheartening. Im only 3.5 weeks post op, so I have no idea what in terms of my dysmorphia will be like post op.

    December 2020

Yay for breaking through the stall! I’m 3.5 weeks out and I am so ready to be off purées. I’m over them entirely. It’s been frustrating. I know it could be worse, so I’m grateful I only have another week and I can start soft foods. Sorry you are sick! That’s no good!! I hope it’s not covid! I go back the end of January. Part of me is ready and excited, and part of me has enjoyed the extra time with the kiddos!

Checking in! How is everyone doing?!

    Vomiting

This happened to me when my husband cooked brussel sprouts. 🤮. I’m 3.5 weeks post op. I almost feel like I did when I have been pregnant, a super smelling nose and easily nauseated by it.

    Insurance submission BCBS

Oh no that’s awful!!! That doesn’t help you at all! Maybe the surgeons office could help by giving them a call? Fingers crossed you hear soon!

    Insurance submission BCBS

Mine was pretty quick with BCBS, maybe 6 days ? Though I also called my care coordinator at BCBS and that helped speed the process up!!

Can I see some before and after pics?

These are all amazing and all of you are AWESOME!!! Makes me so excited to keep pushing on this journey! -44lbs and going, I can’t wait for that after picture!

    December 2020

Yes. I just had a sleeve, no hernia repair. I constantly have them! Especially after drinking or eating.

    December 2020

That's the worst! I just broke through one myself! Won't be long!!!
  18. I’m sorry I don’t have advice but I wanted to say lots of hugs!!! I hope it gets better for you soon. I can imagine how difficult this is for you. Lots of prayers!

    Nervous

Being nervous is totally okay! I was nervous too! It’s a big surgery and a big change! I think I was more nervous for this surgery than I was giving birth twice! For me, I had minimal pain but significant nausea. I did vomit a lot the first 2 days, which was very challenging and I wondered what did I do?! But one phone call to the doctor and they added an Emend pill, it literally saved me! So there are MANY options should you experience nausea to help get you through it. After that I felt like I turned a corner! I’m almost 3 weeks post op now and have felt completely back to normal since probably 1-1.5 weeks out. Remind yourself why you are doing this and remember YOU GOT THIS!!!! 💪🏼

    Pregnant!

It will all work out!! Just remember why you’re doing it in the first place and it won’t be long and you can go right back at it! Hugs!

    So....I got approved!!!!

Glad to see your approval came through! It pays to stay on their booty!
  22. I did nothing today. Besides just playing with the kiddos. I’m just pooped today. I hate that feeling! Just being so tired, it’s exhausting 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️. Are you still on purées?
  23. I tried to exercise today. I did two mikes and felt like I ran a marathon. And I’m as walking lol. I have no energy. I hope that gets better soon. I may try to do it first thing in the morning instead of waiting a bit.
  24. Oh my gosh, yes on the insomnia! I’m like dying over here. Lol! I’m tired but I just lay there forever. I usually am a 9 o’clock I’m asleep and it’s like midnight and I’m still awake. I’m glad to see it is normal! Maybe I need to wake up earlier, I get up when the toddler does which is usually around 745-8. Maybe I should get up earlier to go to bed at my normal time.
  25. May be the dumbest question ever...but what does (your) full feels like after surgery? Before surgery I never felt like I knew what full felt like. It was just hungry (then eat/binge) to sick. Since surgery (a little over 2 weeks post op), I don’t really know what full feels like. I stop after 2 oz because I feel heavy, or I feel like waves of nausea coming on. So that brings me to my question... since being post op, what does your full feel like?
