Statistics show better long term results with DS. I’m revising from sleeve to DS for this reason.

In retrospect I wish I had the chance to do it all at once instead of sleeve only. I’m not a super high BMI.

Then again at the time I had sleeve done 6 years ago, I didn’t think there was any way that I would ever regain so there’s that. 🤷‍♂️

Same here- i believe my original surgeon was just comfortable with the sleeve and bypass, and even then he just felt because of my age i should do the sleeve I knew i needed something else based on my research. I would have done one surgery and been done.

Hey good day all old & new. I havent been in the forum for some time... I had my sleeve done back in 2014 as of now i have gain majority of my weight back. Im looking to get a revision.. question was it hard to get insurance to approve for a revision to a bypass? I suffer from acid reflux in the middle of the night it will shoot up through my nose uncontrollably. Not often but i just dont enjoy it when it does.. Also did it help with loosing weight and keeping it off

Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Im from VA but in WA. Had my sleeve in 2015, and insurance approved revision to DS. I didn't have to do the 6 months etc., because of reflux and other comorbidities. My dr suggested the DS because of the success rate as a revision. Plus I saw how the bypass did my mom, my surgery is scheduled 10/22

Mine is Tuesday. VSG to DS. I wasn’t required to do the liquid pre-op diet but I did it anyway. I’m on the clear 2day now. I’ll provide updates when I can. Nervous about being solo in the hospital but I’m with the same practice as before, so not as nervous about the actual procedure.

Good luck.. you said solo. please let us know how it goes.
