I went cycling around the town yesterday and the day before after stopping for almost two months. It has been raining non-stop over here and we are finally having a dry spell. There was a hill on my usual track and previously I'd get off the bike and dragged it uphill. I didn't have to do that yesterday and I was able to just climb the hill without much effort. What a pleasant surprise! I need to buy new cycling shorts since the old one are very loose now.

That is awesome! I can't wait to get my license renewed this summer. It says 350 on it and I was almost 50 pounds more than that when I got it last time. I have also never had my real weight on my driver's license and I can't wait to put it on there in August!

Firstly, congratulations on reaching onderland. Yay!
Body dysmorphia doesn’t disappear with your weight & sometimes you only start to experience it as you’re losing & when your weight stabilises. It takes time for your brain (& how you picture yourself to be) to catch up with how you really look now. And it affects family & friends the same way - all those ‘you’ve lost too much weight’ comments we all get.
I still have days when I look in a mirror or a reflection in a window & am surprised that the reflected person is really me & I’m 3.5 yrs out. But I was bigger for a lot longer than I’ve been slim. It may seem silly but I actually used to look up the height & weight of actors & I also took pxts standing beside family & friends so I could better see my size in comparison.
You can always seek support from a therapist if you think your body dysmorphia is hindering your physical, emotional & mental progress in any way.

I put on my first pair of jeans 7 weeks post op to go to Home Depot. They were loose! A few steps into the store and my pants were falling off. A few days later did laundry. Pulled out some leggings. I have knee knows, and mtmy thighs don't touch.

I'm in mourning. Had to throw away my favorite pair of leggings this morning. They got retired to the "only wear around the house and not to the gym" pile a few months ago when they threatened to fall down during weightlifting. (I'm okay with everyone in the class see me fall on my @$$, not them seeing my @$$.)
But today I put them on and the waistband wasn't even touching me and I was like... even if I just walk slowly downstairs, my family is gonna get a show. So in the trash they went. 😭
I can't even just buy them in a new size; the company stopped making them years ago.

STLoser got a reaction from smc124 in Carbs yes or no
My team limited carbs early on, to make sure I could fit in all my Protein. However, carbs were always allowed. I think it was around 60g a day early on. I'm 2 years, almost 4 months post op and I eat carbs now, but I stick to the complex/healthy carbs except the occasional treat like ice cream. Once I hit 2 years they encouraged me to increase my carbs. I get about 100 g of protein a day (I had the SADI-S), and about 150ish of carbs.
    It is pretty balanced!

STLoser reacted to The Greater Fool in How did you choose your goal weight?
I never chose a goal weight. At 1/4 ton overweight I would have killed to get within 100 pounds of an overweight BMI. Anything better was too far beyond reason in my mind. As it turns out I shot past a normal BMI before I managed to get back up.
I had 16 pounds removed during my abdominoplasty.
    Good luck,

STLoser got a reaction from Love&Light in Has your relationship changed?
I have a wonderful husband who has always been supportive. He loves me for who I am. I love him for who he is.
I had wls first (over 2 years ago) , and he was my biggest cheerleader. He just had his 6 months ago and now I am his cheerleader.
We did struggle in the bedroom because we were both so big before. Things just don't work the same, not to mention how we had no physical stamina.
So in that respect, our relationship has changed 100 percent for the better!
Otherwise, our relationship is no different than it ever was because it has always been a good one!

Also, even if it WERE the easy way out, which it is not, what is so wrong with doing something the easy way!? So we should do everything the hard way or it doesn't count!? We have so many things to make our lives easier (washing machines, dishwashers, etc) and no one accuses us of taking the easy way out with those. Maybe we should just go back to hand washing all our clothes with a washboard. Wouldn't want to take the easy way out!
    I'm sorry. I'm ranty today. [emoji51]

I can eat popcorn. I have to watch it, though, because it's easy to scarf away A LOT of it (it's mostly air so it shrinks down to nothing in your stomach). I rarely indulge because of that, because I often end up eating a lot more of it than I intended to.

It's the calories. Not "the carbs". Not "the fats". Not "high Protein only".
    It's the calories. Always.
Doesn't matter where they're coming from. Eat more than you burn and you're going to gain weight. There is no evil magic in "carbs".

STLoser reacted to SleeveToBypass2023 in how did surgery save you money?
When we go out to eat, my meal tends to last me 3 days because I can't eat as much as I used to. So I get more for my money that way. Also, I don't eat fast food at all, I'm not buying junk food from the store, and I eat way less in general, so the food I DO buy lasts longer.
