  1. So I had my surgery in the begining of July 2020. Lost some at first but since end of September I stalled until today Nov 27th. Just list 5 lbs.

What I do not understand is I have been doing the same thing Protein and Water keeping calories low but once I have a ton of carbs grazing 2 days in a row of carbs I finally lose 5 pounds.

I just do not understand why doing the opposite of what I have been doing is causing weight loss.

  2. I know things effect the body differently. For me sugar is a no no but I have had a little and I was super buzzed from it. The bread needs to be toasted. I believe it's because the soft stuff can block the stoma. However my aunt had the vsg also and she eats whatever but she is 2 years out. The carbonated drinks make air bubbles in the stomach and that can be really bad to have extra air in such a small place. I am no expert but i did talk to a young lady that kept drinking soda after her vsg and sh said she gained almost all her weight back it had been 4 years since her surgery.
IDK if this helps you but good luck.

  3. I'd like to thank everyone for posting support and suggestions. Today was better. Had some turkey an egg and a Protein Shake pumpkin spice. Soft noodles 2tbs. Now for Water all night long. I see my Dr tomorrow. So that should reboot me and my nutritionist next week.
Why can't I crave healthy stuff. Damn me!!

Once again thanks everyone. I really needed to read something motivating. Much appreciation.

  4. I'm just over a month out of surgery and I have been doing well with my diet so far. Protein Drinks and genpro and adding in some normal foods now.

Today has been my hardest day I feel like I have over eaten I made turkey meatloaf ate some I also downed a bag of pork skins. I had 1 Protein Drink, and a yoghurt breakfest pop. I didn't even do my Tai chi today. I'm just craving idk why. I do not want to fail here. I made myself promise to keep going down on the scale. I worked 2 years to be approved for my surgery. I have wanted it since I was 27. I'm almost 50 now. I feel like there is no one to talk to about this.

    FML.

Hoping for tomorrow to be back on track. I do not want to be depressed or crying over this. I need to get it together.

  5. July surgery on my 3rd week out and been doing alright. Lost 14lbs since surgery. Been getting 90+ Protein, all Vitamins covered. I believe I need to walk more but after my 2 week visit they said do not walk more than 1500 steps and to rest more. Sure glad I did that s vsg surgery though. It is really helping me feel better about myself and I feel happy.

  6. I just had my 1st post op visit 7/22. It went well I'm on track with everything. My wounds are healing so we'll and that made me happy. Dr said not to worry about tracking my steps or the AMT of weight loss. I have lost 8lbs so far. Had my pureed food yesterday been getting in my 90g of Protein. Vitamins are no issue. BariMelts, genpro Protein Powder and Premier Protein are my friends now.
I feel pretty good. Waking up a lot earlier with energy. I am not missing any foods. Made ricotta bake that's amazing.
All and all if I stay focused I know I will lose. I'm even doing tai chi just 5 mins but will do more at some point.

  7. So I had my surgery July 8,2020 here in the USA. I then went to Water, broths right after til the 13th then I'm on the liquid diet now. Sadly I have gained weight 8lbs.

I know I am salt sensitive and they used a saline on me but that's a lot of water weight!

I have been walking as much as possible givin the weakness I have had since surgery. About 2k steps to 3k per day plus planting flowers some yard things. Fluids are 64 oz or better and have gotten in 80 grams of Protein everyday Vitamins are happening. I'm keeping positive though that results will happen, maybe it's a body shock and it thinks hybernation mode.maybe because I'm 49 idk.

I think I am just reading everyone's story here on how much weight they lost in the 1st month and I feel like I'm dragging.

Also looking for a support group in Everett, wa or someone that I can hang with to walk.

    Ty for reading my stuff.
