First, congratulations on your weight loss. Oh yeah, supplements can be crazy expensive.

I don't take Vitamins or any supplements at all now. I have the support of my medical team & successive blood tests have shown my levels are all very good. I get all my Vitamins through what I eat.

Are you eating a balanced diet? How much dairy are you consuming? If you struggle with lactose, canned sardines & salmon (you have to eat the bones too), almonds, kale, spinach, Beans, lentils, tofu are good sources of Calcium too. If you can up your natural intake of Calcium each day you may not need to take as many supplements & reduce the costs that way.

Have they checked to make sure there is not an underlying cause, beside diet, for your low calcium levels?

I didnt know you can get enough calcium and vitamins from just eating the correct things. The way it was explained to me was that I would have to take supplements for the rest of my life. This is really good advice!

  2. Hi, if you look on my page you can message me Via Instagram for lots of advice. You should not be eating and waiting for your body to tell you it's full. You should be measuring. No more than 1/4th cup. Also it has to be soft Protein. And only 3 times a day. If you eat until your full 6 times a day your going to ruin the most important time of your surgery. Stop doing this to yourself. Follow your directions and you will se great results!

  3. Hello I respect your decision of not telling anyone. There will be a plethora of questions that quite frankly you dont owe an explanation too. I made the choice to be completely open about my surgery and its alot of work. Always remember it is a tool. Youd never judge someone for using a car to get cross country instead of walking or judge someone for using a nail gun to build a house instead of a hammer. Both ways to a goal are valid. Anyway, follow all instructions the surgeon gives you even when it painful. The hardest part is right when you wake up from surgery because you have gas pain, so Walk WALK WALK!!!

Other than that I did not do pureed meats. Made me think of dog food lol. If you look at my page you can follow my insta and I can send more details of how I did my post op diet. I lost 120 pounds in 6 month. My Drs. And team where in shock. Good luck!

  4. I'm 11 months post OP and have lost 120 LBs. Overall it's a great experience but my Calcium and Vitmain levels keep dropping. I'm finding it more and more difficult to buy supplements. It was a cost that I wasnt warned about during my consultations. I work full time and have been raising my brother and sister because my parents where deported to Mexico in 2010. I made the decision to raise them when I turned 18. It's a difficult journey and unfortunately my supplements go on the back burner because of how expensive they are. Anyone have advice on how to get supplements cheaper. I'd greatly appreciate any helpful information.

  5. So your BMR is very low now after all the weight loss. BMR is the base of calories your body burns in a day without any workouts for example just from sitting around. My BMR is 1200 calories. It's super low. So if I eat 1300 calories in one day. I'm going to gain about a pound in a month from to many calories. Thays why you should really be walking atleast 10 thousand steps a day and eating at your BMR to loose weight.
