kellym1220 got a reaction from ImsexyandIknowit in Anyone else have issues with restaurants!
I'm so sorry that you feel this way! I have been eating out fairly regularly since about 2 months out. Did it slow my weight loss? Possibly. But I am significantly happier! I went to a thing called magical dining in September, where it's a three course meal, twice, Once, I ordered salmon with a tuna appetizer (I know you don't like seafood, I love it as long as I don't have to cook it!) and the next time I ordered filet mignon and some sort of Soup. Both times, I ate about 1/2 of the appetizer, 1/3 of the Protein and a bite or two of the sides and then one bite of the dessert and then packed it in a doggy bag and brought it home to my son. If my son wasn't the sort to eat JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING, I would have eaten the leftovers over the next two days! I've had fajitas and refried Beans at a Mexican restaurant and a sashimi appetizer at a sushi restaurant. I haven't eaten Italian (too tempting, although I might order veal or chicken piccata, it I did!) I focus on eating the protein first and then take a bite or two of the sides. I ALWAYS look at the menu on line and figure out what I can eat and WANT to eat. Luckily, my family lets me lead the charge on where we go, so I can find somewhere that has something I want to eat.
So anyway, long post, but don't give up. Two months is still early and you should be able to enjoy food a bit sooner or later. I hope you can find that balance! Good luck.

As someone who has had three LONG stalls, back to back, I still weigh every day...I just only record the drops below previous recorded weight. Otherwise, it's up 1 pound, down 1 pound, up 2 pounds, down 1 pound (ugh), up 1 pound, down 4 pounds...hit record, 2 pounds down!

According to WebMD a 150 pound person burns 350-450 calories per hour of raking and bagging leaves. Other sources are less generous and estimate 250 calories per hour. Depends a little on your size, how vigorously you rake, how often you take breaks, if you keep your heart rate up, etc.
Regardless of if you're chugging away, sweating....or taking breaks and doing it gently.....It's a great work out:) Good core strength exercise with all the bending and twisting and pulling.
I totally understand your enjoyment of this. And I think it's awesome.
    Congrats on coming so far!

kellym1220 got a reaction from marie_garzz_vsg in Atena Insurance picky
It does seem unfair, but if you do the test you might find that you are borderline sleep apnea-tic (?) and they will push it through. If not, and they don't go ahead and approve you, then I would contest it. I would never have thought I had sleep apnea, but my doctor said I did. My insurance doesn't cover WLS at all, so this was before I even considered it. Turns out...I could not sleep with a CPAP machine, so I gave it up quickly. I know I get a much better night's sleep without the 70 pounds that I have lost!

I joke that my dog has become an alert dog...the second I START to feel full, she comes running over and stares at me until I give her the rest of my food. I have lost 70 pounds, she has gained 15 (or 20% of her body weight!)

Just this weekend my sister, who has really struggled with her weight and is on a good non-surgical path now, told me "I have a friend that wanted to get surgery and I told her not to because she would change her relationship with food FOREVER!". I bit my tongue and told her (as gently as I could) "That's kind of the idea. We have both changed our relationship with food...and if we want to keep it off, it has to be forever....as we've learned over and over again."
Good luck, I hope everything goes well! I have had zero complications and am SOOOO happy that I had this done!

I don't really have any trigger but if I try to finish "that one last bite", I will fill very nauseated & saliva just starts in huge amounts & I just have to constantly spit until the feeling goes away. I am learning how to recognize that full feeling & stop right there. I sometimes think a sneeze trigger would be nice.

I have full triggers that are in "stages."
Runny nose: caution, you're getting full. You might want to stop now.
Sneeze: You are full. STOP! (This stage has a couple of levels: 1 sneeze is mild. Multiple sneezes mean it's more urgent/severe.)
Hiccups: DANGER, DANGER Will Robinson! STOP, you daft wench!

I agree, it will get better! Each day, you can eat a little more, find something you like, etc. bread may not be the best option, but I have had bread, albeit not a lot and not at every meal.
Same with alcohol, but again, not nearly as much as pre-surgery, maybe one to two drinks a couple of times per week. I started with a little drink about 6 weeks out.
