I actually go 25 carb, 35 fat and 40 Protein. But I rarely hit carb or fat goal and exceed protein.

    3) Get down on the ground and get back up again!

I think you just need to get through the first month or two, and focus on getting your Protein and Water down. As you get further in the process, more foods will be available for you, albeit in much smaller portions (which is good). Look at the thread "Food Before & After Photos", there are so many ideas of what people are eating post surgery. It DOES get easier each day! Hang in there!

I'm only 7 months out, but I've stalled a few times. My dietitian actually gave me a plan for what to do if I stall out for two weeks or longer, and that's change things up.
Intermittent fasting, changing up your exercise routine, adjusting your calories throughout the week (doing 500, then 1000, then 1200, and then back to 1000, 500 and repeat). Stalls are there because your body got used to what it was doing (most of the time, there are other medical reasons for stalls as well, like constipation and gas and such). If you are only doing the elliptical, maybe try lifting weights or doing a rowing machine? Change it up. Your Protein goals sound fabulous, but maybe add a few carbs in there here and there.
It's a lot of trial and error trying to figure out what works, which you obviously know. I think your weight is great, and you have done amazingly. Just hang in there, okay? ❤️

Well, my friends...eggs are NOT my friend! I had a similar response to my scrambles egg as I did with the egg drop Soup adventure, except I only ate 1/2 an egg so not quite as severe. It's weird because I have used eggs in recipes with no issue. Today, I will be eating high Protein oatmeal for Breakfast and making something for dinner and future lunches with the ground chicken I bought yesterday...I wasn't able to cook anything yesterday, but I did make sure and get my protein and Water in!!
I hope everyone has a great day...I'm headed out for a walk before the temp hits 90 degrees!!

    Things I won't miss:
    1) Eying a chair with arms and hoping I would fit in the seat!!
    2) Not being able to stand up with pushing myself up on something
    3) Support garments and pantyhose in the Florida heat...every day!
I'm sure there is much, much more!!

Try Fairlife, Protein drinks, for vanilla and chocolate I think they're the best. I also like Premier Protein Caramel (also in my coffee, yum) and Cookies and Cream. The rest...bleh!
I tried hummus in my chicken salad and it was quite tasty!! Last night I ordered tacos from Tijuana Flats with no vegetables (just beef and refried beans) and ate about half of the insides of one taco! LOL But it was fun eating the same food as my son!
Looking for something yummy to make for dinner tonight, maybe chicken chili, for breakfast...scrambled eggs with cheese.

I am no expert but I would advise that you blend your mango with a Protein Shake or add Protein Powder like GENEPRO or Isopure flavorless or vanilla. I would sub a shake for the apple juice. That will add more Protein to your morning, which should help keep you feeling fuller.
    Good luck!!

My surgery (sleeve) was done on July 30th and I am in the midst of two week post op liquid diet. I feel great, just a little bit of itching and pain at the two largest incisions...and of course, I would love to eat something...anything!! Last night my daughter and I ordered Soups from Panera (Summer Corn Chowder) and I strained mine and gave her all the "stuff" and just ate the broth/cream and OH. MY. GOSH. I was in heaven!!!! I didn't add Protein Powder to it because I had two Premier Protein shakes already. Things I recommend:
    1) GENEPRO powder - I tried several Protein powders but this was the smallest scoop and easiest to blend. I usually mix it in a little milk, broth or Water and add it to any hot soups/broths. I use it to make Jello shooters that have protein in them, protein pudding and add to broths to make them higher in protein.
    2) Use Premier Protein (especially caramel) in Decaf coffee
    3) Don't buy the nasty powdered soups...or if you do, don't buy too many! I have 4 boxes and they are the WORST! (At least for me).
    4) Swanson Sipping Broths (45-50 calories and 9 grams of protein) Easy to heat, easy to drink.
I cannot wait to get to the puree stage...and then real food!! And I am down 10.5 pounds from surgery day so a little over a pound a day.
GOOD LUCK!! This is going to be a game changer!

Day 6 post op - I feel good! It's been more than 24 hours since my last prescription pain med and I'm not even sure I will need Tylenol today. No problems drinking, big sips okay, multiple sips okay...no gulping! One thing that has happened is that the swelling in my knees, ankles and feet, that I have had off and on for years but got really bad this year, is gone!
I have not really started exercising yet, other than walking around the hotel and the house, but I am actually looking forward to going for a walk outside as soon as I finish my Decaf coffee with Caramel Premier Protein in it, And the best news of all? I'm down 9.5 pounds since surgery, 12 pounds from highest weight (the week prior to surgery), I only lost 2.5 pounds during my very short pre-op!!
I'm very eager to start on pureed foods, but my doctor requires two weeks of full liquid post op, so I shall do my best to comply! I'm adding gene-pro to everything except Protein shakes...that seems like overkill!
I hope everyone has a great day and quick healing for those who are still in the healing window!!

You are a girl after my own heart! I cannot eat the same thing over and over and over...which is probably how I ended up here! My full liquid diet does not allow for anything but Protein Shakes, strained Soup and yogurt...but I cannot wait to get to the puree/mushies stage! Plans are being made and all recipes are welcomed!

Dumping syndrome is real...I got cocky and made some egg drop Soup with 2 eggs and ate/drank it all... probably way too fast! Fifteen minutes later, it started and three hours later I feel like everything I have ever eaten is gone. And the whole time I'm thinking "at least I'm losing weight" - ugh!
Now, I am re-committed to not pushing the guidelines and staying on the liquid diet until Thursday!!
