Hi! I'm Kelly. I'm a Director of Finance with a sense of humor! I live with my 25 year old transgender son, 1 dog and 4 cats (my son kept bringing home feral kittens). I love my hot tub, reading and champagne, all at the same time! It's nice to meet everyone!

    3DPO!
Had another post op visit this morning. dressings were removed, and they put tape on my boobs. My tummy incisions are uncovered, and I've been instructed to put antibiotic cream on the incisions 2x/day. I am to continue use of the compression machine over the weekend, and then I go back to the office again on Monday to check my drains.
I still feel great! Only pain now is back pain from being hunched over. It's fine when I'm sitting, but my back starts burning when I'm standing or walking. So I mostly sit!!
Hope everyone is having a Happy Friday!!

I do. I only started after surgery, since I had to quit my 2 to 3 glasses of wine method. I also bought melatonin 3AM for when I wake up in the middle of the night. I seem to be getting better sleep (according to my apple watch!)

How old are you? I know when I was in my 30's, I was not skinny, but not fat. As I got older (I'm 57 now) it seemed like each year another 5 or 10 pounds was "acceptable, but not ideal" I found myself saying "I felt good at 210, if I could just get there!" and then "I was always happy under 230, let me try to get there"...and then I realized I'm going to be at 300 pounds in 3 more years at this rate and decided I needed to do something! I wish I had done it earlier, but who knows? If you are not committed to changing your lifestyle, you might go through this and end up back where you are. Or, you could decide you want to change your life anyway and do it without surgery. I am only 3.5 months out, so I hope I can commit and feel great forever, but at 50 pounds down, I'm committing now!
Also, I have been able to eat out, hang out with friends and still lose weight...I just order an appetizer and take half of it home and have one drink when I would have had several before (PS. I'm saving money, too!)
    Good luck on your decision.

Agreed! There will be some pain, but in a few days it will be gone. There will be growing pains...but you will be shrinking! I have been out to eat several times, I have had a few cocktails and I just ate the most scrumptious lobster bisque for lunch...made with last night's leftover lobster. Leftovers and appetizers will be a way of life...but things all work out!

This is the sweetest note...and I agree with everything ChubRub said! You can do this, but talk to your doctor and if you were seeing a nutritionist or dietician, see about getting them involved, as well. Focus on healthy food, Protein and Water. It may not happen as quickly as before, but it will happen. Good luck!

I was on a call with my nutritionist tonight and someone else on my call asked about it and she said that anyone in this situation should do a 10 day liquid diet re-boot. I've seen several on this site, but since my nutritionist recommended it, it's what I would try.

With regard to the depression aspect, definitely talk to your doctor about it if you haven't already started the process for treatment.
As for the weight gain, since today is Friday, why don't you use the weekend to stock up on healthy foods, and make a promise to your self that on Monday you take back your life. You did it before, and you can do it again!
    HUGS!!!!!

Last night, I was eating a taco (on a low carb fajita tortilla) and my stomach "burbled" and my dog was there in an instant, ie. before I knew I was full, I think my dog, Lola knew! LOL My son said she was like a service dog, but instead of signaling on low blood sugar, she signals when I'm full, so she can have my leftovers! LOL

I think 4-6 oz might be too much. Maybe start with 2 oz portions of food. I had an issue with eggs early on, where I ate too much (2 eggs) and paid for it in the bathroom and feeling sick and dizzy for the rest of the day. I found them revolting for the next 6 weeks or so. Now, they're okay, but I don't like them the way I once did!
