Perhaps try tracking food again if you have not been. Tracking forces me to be accountable.

Typically a process where the post op phases are undertaken in a much shorter time frame eg over a week, 10 days or a fortnight. I assume it is to help with not just weight loss but help reset someone's mindframe.

I just looked on Pinterest...most resets seem similar to this.

I was in the car for 3.5 hours the day after surgery...I don't remember much of it (I took a pain pill before we left), I wasn't happy to be in the car but I mostly slept. The worst was having to get out to use the bathroom...I looked like h*ll, and I'm sure people wondered what was up! But once we got home, I went to my own bed and slept, and felt MUCH better the next day.
    Good luck!

This is my favorite, when I'm dying for cereal:

I only eat half a serving with Fairlife 1% or FF milk. This was suggested by my nutritionist, so not every day, but acceptable.

I love this! I have made chicken breasts with just salsa, but black Beans and corn would really jazz it up!

I hear you, my boyfriend enjoys going to restaurants at least once a week, seat and be server. My options will be dump him or make peace with the lifestyle. He understands I went through surgery and is mindfull that the restaurant has something I can eat. Most of them have salmon/broccoli at a minimum. That's what I get, well, ahí since I live in Hawaii. I just eat how the doctor recommended, slow, small bites. Chew until the end of the world and pack the rest. Bar/restaurants are more tricky here. I just order the smallest chicken wings plate or chicken quesadilla, I ended up eating 2 wings or one triangle of the quesadilla. I pack the rest or share with the table. No big deal. Rule of thumb, Proteins first, then salad. Avoid carbs when you can. In this pic, this particular restaurant had Ahi and the side option of rice or sweet potato. I went with the sweet potatoes, got 2 bites after a few bites of ahí, I ate 3 days from this meal.

I had my surgery 4 weeks ago.

Congratulations everyone! It is truly thanks to everyone on here that I was able to stay involved and engaged for this journey! It's not easy but I feel great! I'm not in w"one"derland yet, but I hope (if I can break this stall) I will be there before summer! I need to work out...but this pandemic and not going to the gym has really stalled me on that. Let's see if I can get motivated by your success! Thank you all!

I'm so so very sorry your so-called friends spoke to and treated you this way. If they are truly your friend they will understand when you tell them they are either for you or against you, but they cannot be both. And if they continue to be against you they'll have to live without you!

kellym1220 reacted to Creekimp13 in "Head Hunger"
Meh, to each their own. But I'm tired of lying. These surgeries fix our stomachs, not our heads. Our heads will never be well if we keep lying. And we are CHAMPION liars about food and hunger (and fitness and body image, etc.) We're also prone to extreme thinking. If it's not one extreme it's the other. I want something truthful that is moderate and sane and not so EXTREME all the time.
1000 calories a day indefinately...is eventually called an eating disorder. We can't avoid food. We need to make peace with it and be honest about it.
If we've been lying about food and hunger to ourselves, we are much more at risk of regaining or developing an eating disorder in the other direction or another addiction.....which does happen.
I'm personally not interested in an eating disorder. I'm not interested in being someone who stands in the sun and believes the energy is flowing into me. LOLOLOLOL.
I have no interest in the nonsense of "skinny, perfect, beautiful". I like how I look, and I always have. Even when I was 270 pounds.
I want to be someone who is an average weight for a woman my age...who feels strong and healthy and has excellent labs and no medications. I want a long healthy life. I want to stop the weight obsession/identity/cycle of madness.
I want to be someone who relates to food in a normal way. Someone who can enjoy everything in moderation who has the self control to stop and self regulate. Someone who doesn't think about food every minute of the day.
And I think my chances of getting there are a hell of a lot better if I'm honest. So does my bariatric therapist.
I am nearly 50, and I'm just getting this figured out after a lifetime of diets and extreme thinking. I love my moderate, normal weight.... and my moderate normal eating habits.... and my moderate normal fitness.
Here's a current pic of me. Not perfect. Moderate. Normal. But exactly who I want to be:) And yep...this chick gets HUNGRY when she's not eating 1400-1600 calories a day:)

I just had my 6 month follow up and I have lost 51 lbs since the day of surgery. I am no longer considered obese! My BMI is 28.2. I now can start the process for my kidney transplant. Surgery date was 7/22/2020.

I am so happy today! 50 pounds gone! It has taken 3.5 months, which is longer than I thought it would take, but it's 50 pounds gone which is more than I've ever lost before regaining! I lost 25 pounds the first month and have been averaging 10 pounds for the last 2.5. I had to resign myself to NOT getting to goal by the holidays, but I have felt amazing, never deprived and my skin and hair look great! Slow and steady wins the race!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
