Yes, I have zofran, phenergren, and a scopalomine patch on also. They called me in Emend yesterday, it’s a one time pill. It was $75 but worth every penny for that one pill. It has helped tremendously and I haven’t thrown up since last night!

It’s been a rough two days. My procedure went just fine but my nausea and vomiting is awful. The wretching of throwing up just makes my pain so much worse. I’ve been hanging in my bed and getting up and moving around here and there. Haven’t been able to keep Water down, but trying.

Lets be honest here. We all have reasons for being big in the first place and one of mine was a toxic relationship with my mother. I ate my feelings. I will never get any type of positive reaction from her so I have quit looking for one.
I know my success is eating at her and in a way that just makes me want to succeed even more, yes I know that is a little juvenile but it is what it is
Just be happy in your own skin and know that your success only needs to make you happy!!

I know exactly what you mean about just wanting to crunch something. I did end up doing gum and a few ice pops. I am now post-op and still on liquid diet. Luckily not clear liquids so I can have cream Soup and stuff like that. My wife made me an enchilada soup tonight and blended and strained it, but holy crap it would have been amazing with the tortilla chips my kids were making nachos out of!!!

Yes, this covid test did tickle my brain. It was awful. Got the results back the next day. Negative. I cannot believe it’s 4 days away. It’s insane!

I know this feel. I want to crunch, too. Day 5 for me over here. Surgery 12/30! Can you do sugar free popsicles? The cold of them right now isn’t satisfying, but the crunch is, and then shortly after I have some warm broth to warm my lip back up. Lol

Karmen, looks like we will be close together. I’m the 24th! I just had my covid test today. Man that was not fun. I have a deviated septum which made the left side (small side) burn. I wish you all the luck!

Hi December buddies! I had my gastric sleeve on this past Tuesday, December 15. Everything went really well with the surgery, but I wanted to give you a heads up about recovery. If you have Fibro, or any autoimmune disease, please make sure anesthesiologist takes this into account - so that they can offset any potential flares. I have had several surgeries under general in the past, and never had a reaction like this one. Don't want to scare you - but if I can save someone the agony I went through I'd like to.
The side effects were an extremely painful recovery in the neck & shoulders waking up from surgery, a longer than normal time in post-op to try to calm my spasms, spasms throughout my calves. The day in the hospital was fine, as long as I was on Tramadol, but once I got home, and the meds wore off, the pain became excruciating - all the large muscle groups, extremities, joints both hurt and were on fire. The surgeon's office said since it was extremities it wasn't related to the surgery, and go to the ER, or my doctor who treats my other conditions. I went to my doctor, since he knows my other conditions. He gave me Gabapentin and a cream form of Voltaren; I am also on Flexeril normally. And I started a course of Methylprednisone for the inflammation. Today I woke up feeling better, and have gotten progressively better throughout the day.
The pain was in the back of the thighs, the front of the thighs, the shoulders, forearms and biceps and triceps and shoulder joints and ribs. I couldn't cough the surgery Fluid up, and it was actually terrifying to be in so much pain, I have never experienced like this before. Funny enough, my surgery site, and tummy - they were all great!
Sitting in the shower under the warm Water helped, but only as long as I was there. I needed a stepstool to get into my bed, and had walk excruciatingly slow. When I woke up, the burning would be there and I would have to pull really hard, as I cried, to try to lift a leg, turn over, or push myself up.
Again, I don't want to scare anyone, but if you have any underlying condition where you are prone to inflammation (autoimmune) or fibro (mixed signals and flares), talk to your anethesiologist in advance, and make sure you have the proper meds going home.
That said, I am great 3 days out, have lost 8 pounds, and am so excited to be on this journey to a healthier me, for me. My surgeon was great, and I am so blessed. Good luck to each of you!

Glad to see everyone is doing so great!!
4 days to go and I’m so ready! Keeping myself busy with wrapping gifts and hiding from the kids so that I won’t have to rush and wrap 2 days post op. I did that last year being a couple weeks out from having a baby. Such a bad idea!

Nothing guaranteed until we hear from my insurance, which was submitted yesterday. I might not know for up to 7-10 business days. So with that in mind, I’m starting my liquid diet on the 14th (Monday) in case I’m having surgery as soon as the 28th (it might be the 30th)!

Hey friend! The test went ok! Apparently I don’t have as much of a hiatal hernia as they thought on the endoscopy! We also discovered my reflux meds are doing their work. Haha

I just had mine on the 3rd, came home today, had the mini bypass and the incision sites (5 in total) are rather tender, but the gas is unbelievably painful, but I it does shift in small doses, it would probably shift more if I didn't have limited mobility

Thank you. I needed this. I feel like it is not moving or moving extremely slow. I know there is no one size fits all. I just wish I knew what size fits me.
