I had RNY, not sleeve, but I find too much fat at one time makes me nauseous. My husband eats Keto and I literally make two meals (when I cook), because I eat carbs and can’t tolerate the high fat in his food. The post op diet is usually pretty much a high Protein, reduced carb, low/reduced fat diet, which worked well for me. In maintenance, I eat more carbs.

Its a private party at an event venue so as of right now we would only have to wear masks when we are outside the assigned room (i.e, bathrooms or other shared spaces), so that's good. No one is allowed inside the building unless they provide proof of full vaccination anyway. Pretty excited AND anxious to be indoors with so many people for the first time in almost 2 years. But who knows...we may get a Covid turn for the worse come winter and it will get cancelled anyway. Le Sigh.
Love!! This dress! I unreasonably want it…I have no upcoming events where this dress would be worn. 😭😭
My husband is literally having to upgrade his wardrobe because every time we go out, I am overdressed 😂 What would he wear out with me dressed in this to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant?? 🤷♀️

What type of symptoms did you have if you don't mind me asking. I often get angry or become overly sensitive to every comment or perceived slight.
Over sensitive and snappish are definitely some things I experienced post-surgery, in spite of my low dose of Prozac. It did get better, but my husband definitely took the brunt of my moodiness. The portion restriction did not bother me, because my hunger was low and I got full very quickly. I believe most of my moodiness stemmed from hormone fluctuations.

I'm 8 weeks out, and I have had no desire to eat a number of things that typically I would have been salivating for once I thought of them. I'm sure at some point they will become appealing, but right now, not so much and I am really hoping this sticks because it makes it all easier.
Exactly this! Now I literally eat what ever I want because I exercise a lot. Early on, my cravings were for Protein, fruits, and veggies. I do not eat much in the way of concentrated sugars at this point, due to reactive hypoglycemia, (said as I munch on some teddy Graham’s). 🤦🏼♀️With that said, I am in maintenance, ran 4 miles today, and do not want to lose weight. In maintenance, you can eat foods you want to eat providing they do not make you physically ill or cause you to gain unwanted weight.

I have depression. After surgery I felt energized. It was amazing. For the first time in years wanted to be a part of things again. I know my results are not normal. I have taken Prozac 20 mg for 10++ years. I was especially moody post surgery, but it has settled down. I feel great and have felt great since my surgery. My initial mood swings were challenging for Hubby and I, but I think we have come through to the other side. Hang in there! The first few months are so hard.

This morning's Bargain du Jour: 2 pieces of a 3-piece blue-grey linen suit that was on clearance. Which i got a further 50% off of because the jacket was missing for the set, and I didn't want a larger one that was available. Yay deals!
I'll need to get the pants hemmed (i'm already wearing 3.5 inch heels under there but they are still way too long, jeez. And I want to change the tortoiseshell looking buttons on the vest to covered ones in the same material to make it all fancier. Add a belt and slingbacks and i'm ready to go.....nowhere. Whomp whomp.
With a shirt tucked in, with no shirt, with a shirt un-tucked. I like it best with no shirt, but if I did wear one, I think a long sleeved one would look better.
Suit is fabulous! 😍
My name is Wish, and I am a shoe and clothing addict. 🤦🏼♀️ I have so many gorgeous things to wear and no where to go, so I am feeling your pain, @ms.sss. 😂 last weekend Hubby and I went out to a nice, but not super fancy, restaurant for dinner. I was way over dressed, so hubby over dressed in solidarity 🤣🤣 We stopped at a very un-fancy bar on the way home. The server asked if we had a party we were going to…nope, just home and in bed by 9. Lol

Glad ur asthma issues have been dealt with ❤️
Am seriously loving that dress (I’m going through a love affair with gold/champagne/beige coloured clothes and shoes at the moment…and this fits right in). What is the material made of? Is it flowy or crinkly/rouchy? Either way, you are wearing it fabulously well.
P.S. Bargain hunters unite!
A month of steroids for the asthma and I am back on track 🤪
I am on an animal print thing right now, but also love the color tones in this dress. It is from banana Republic and it is a heavier weight, satiny fabric, so smooth but not terribly flowy due to the weight of the fabric.

You have lost 50 pounds in 2 months! Congratulations! Yep, your body just needs to take a minute to “catch up.” Just keep doing what you have been doing (presumably following your plan) and the stall will break. 😊

I plan on going back to Hawaii again, and I WILL do it. I turn 50 Monday, and I don't know when I will get back there but I don't care how old I am, I have to take a surfing lesson!
Congratulations on such an amazing NSV! So awesome!
Sent from my Nokia 7.2 using BariatricPal mobile appWell, I guess I am proof your dream is readily obtainable! 10+ years ago Husband and I were on Maui. Husband wanted to take a surf lesson. I passed, partly because of my size/lack of fitness, and partly because it just wasn’t important to me (cost of activities add up quick). This trip, Husband stayed home, but I was trying to do lots of fun stuff with my niece and nephew. We did SUP one day, and the shop said we should try surfing as well. Kids were game so I signed us up. Thanks to an awesome coach, we were all standing up and riding waves on the first try. Shockingly, I was better at it than either of the kids and I loved it. Basically, I now want to move to Maui and become a middle aged surf bum 🤣🤣🤣 Maybe you want to join me??😂
I think this is a great goal for you, @STLoser! 🏄♀️🏄♀️🏄♀️🏄♀️
PS. Happy birthday to you! 🎂🥳

Was on vacation in Maui last week with Mom, Sister, Nephew, and Niece. Had an amazing time and took a surf lesson with the kids. So much fun! Would have never been able to do this before! Sunset is from the backyard of Mom’s Maui house. Fam pic from left to right: Sister, Niece, me, Nephew, and Mom. Kids are almost 13 and almost 15.

My energy was good within about a week. We are all different, though, so your experience won’t be like anyone else’s. If you can get the Protein in, it will really help with energy. The only time I had a hard time with food wanting to revisit in “public,” (closed door office with one co-worker) was about 1.5 months out after having some chicken at lunch. I managed to keep it down 👍🏻 Win! 😬

6 minutes ago, KeKe82 said:Wow! Thanks... that really gives me hope. Was it a slower weight loss for you the whole process?
Nope… I consistently lost 15 pounds a month for like the first 4-5 months. I thought I was going to be a slow loser since I “only” lost 15 that first month, but it just kept happening. Usually weight loss does slow after the first month or two, but if you stick with your plan you will keep losing and it adds up quick. We all lose at our own rates, so try not to compare yourself to others. 21 pounds the first month is awesome. You are doing great! Just keep on keeping on, and stick with your plan. 😊

Make yourself some low sugar sangria with dry red wine and diet orange soda. The bubbles from the orange soda are minimal to non-existent when mixed with the wine. I like about 60-40 wine to soda mix, but adjust to suit your tastes. This was just my go to while camping over the 4th. Alcohol hits me way harder these days, so use caution.

On 7/7/2021 at 7:01 AM, kristieshannon said:As an RN working in public health I have to comment-the VAST majority of people receiving the vaccine have few to no side effects. And right now about 99% of hospitalized COVID patients are those who have chosen not to get vaccinated. While early on it was older, sicker people dying with the Delta variant our hospitalized population is much younger, and we are seeing younger people dying or having long COVID syndrome. Please get vaccinated.
As another RN working in public health, I can concur that the Delta variant is no joke. One of the infectious disease docs I work with also works at a local VA. A small department there collectively opted to not vaccinate, except for one person. All 7 people in the department contracted the Delta variant. So far, two are dead (young and healthy), two more have been hospitalized, and only the vaccinated person was asymptotic, although they tested positive. I really do not like those odds. So glad all the fam and I are fully vaccinated.
Also, as someone who had COVID, I can also attest to the fact that the side effects from the vaccine (yes, I did have horrible body aches and headaches with both doses), were far superior to having COVID.
Too much weight loss? Is that really possible?

I had a difficult time stopping the weight loss. I ended up cutting back just a little on my exercise regimen (I also refused to give up my new, healthy addiction), and focused on eating more. I still eat plenty of Protein, but I eat a lot more carbs now. My weight is stable and my friends/family have stopped hassling me about my weight. I eat around 2000 calories a day and exercise about 6 days a week, including running and weight training along with other cardio, and yoga. I feel great and I like how my body looks. Good luck!
