Hello its been 6 months and my acid reflux has improved greatly, I have not had an episode in over 2 months but I do still take one PPI daily. I was told by my surgeon that after this month I should be able to discontinue my PPI.

Yes I have eaten gummies, as an alternative to drinking and it was a great. No side effects and my stomach was fine

Hang in there girl the days after surgery are the absolute worst, But i am here to tell you that it will get better and easier. Don't rush just get thru one day at a time. I'm 30+ days out and I feel your pain.Hello everyone! Had my bypass Monday Morning. Immediately waking up I felt awful because they had complications during surgery and I couldn't get on narcotics.
However, after the happy drugs I started to progressively get better.
But today (Thursday) I feel much worse. I am not getting much in Protein and calories wise, I am lucky if it's more than a couple of ounces a day.
I also haven't pooped since Saturday night. I originally chalked it up to not having anything in my stomach, but now I don't know...
Any ideas or tips?

I just had surgery alone due to covid on sept 4th, and like you i was very scared by after surgery I felt so terrible I was kinda glad to be alone and just be still and quiet. I just took everything 1 day at a time. TODAY 30 days later I feel amazing. Good luck to you dear.I am just wondering if anyone had surgery alone with no family/friends there with you on surgery day? I am getting nervous about my upcoming surgery and won’t have anyone there at all. Is that really out of the ordinary? Will my surgeon and the nurses think it’s odd? Will I be okay without that moral support? Or am I worrying for nothing?

9 days post opp, my 1st appointment with my surgeon is tomorrow morning hopefully they will move me right on into puree stage. All my insisions are doing great and no longer hurt. It's really hard to get this Water in sipping and sippin, I really want to just take a big ole gulp.

Seriously if I were you I would gather all my documents and find another surgeon, before you approval and the things you have completed not are not valid, in some stated I know Maryland things need to be within 30-60 day and you have already done to much to have to wait on a Doctors office thats not working in you favor there are plenty of WLS out there . After I submitted to the insurance and got an approval I was scheduled for surgery less then 48 hr later and here I am 8 days post opp. Keep your head, but be vigilant its your health and life.

1 hour ago, RichelleGetsFit0309 said:Moved on to soft foods. I had chicken last night and I was scared at first but I took everyone’s advice and chewed very, very slowly. Who knew a meal could last thing long. So far I can tolerate chicken, tuna and ground beef. I tried salmon which I love and prefer over tuna but peachy (my pouch name) doesn’t like it at all. How is everyone doing?
How long since you had surgery? I am only 7 days and been feeling weak and dizzy on this liquid diet.
-
7 days and still on liquids, let me tell you it ain't fun at all. The pain from surgery is almost gone but the idea of continuing to drink liquids all day is really taking a toll on me idk, I feel no energy and sometimes get dizzy. Its mental strength that I need i am driving myself crazy, but I know this too shall pass.

To be honest that 2 day in the hospital is just a guess, the pain i experienced was immense and I needed all the time they would give me in the hospital just to get me my mind and body together. I still don't have any regrets but I don't wanna fool anyone into thinking this was a cake walk. It was hard as hell and still is but hopefully as the days pass it will get easier. Good luck with your surgery.Did they say why you are still there and on clear fluids? I heard that you can be home within two days and on stage 2 of eating. Did you have any complications if you don't mind me asking?
Did you get to go home today? I hope you don't think that I am being critical or judging you. I am more concerned and wondering since I am going to have my surgery on the 16th.

No I didn't have any complications, I did however have a drain that they needed to be removed before I could be released, other than that I was not nauseous or sick.Did they say why you are still there and on clear fluids? I heard that you can be home within two days and on stage 2 of eating. Did you have any complications if you don't mind me asking?
I am still on a full liquid diet which is proving to be pretty hard i dont know what eles I can eat besided broth for breakfast/lunch & dinner.
