Update: surgery went well according to doctor. Had a hernia that was repaired. To be honest I’m in a lot more pain than I thought I would be, all centered on my stomach. I can feel the gas pain in my shoulders but it’s not bad at all compared to my stomach / diaphragm. So so thirsty. Waiting for ice chips. Happy I did it and I know it’ll get better. Just having a hard time right now. My girlfriend is here with me and is beyond supportive and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. Will update again in a day or so. Thank you all.

Hey there! My nerves were a little heightened also, I just took deep breaths, and new that once I was in the operating room, that I'd be knocked out soon! They gave me a little calming/drowsy solution through my iv before I was wheeled down. So my nerves went out of the window! I was sleeved one week ago today! Good luck! Congratulations! My surgery got moved up today from June 29th to THIS COMING MONDAY the 15th!!! It's getting more real now!!! Wow!!!

Yes, the Dr. will control the robot. I’m scheduled June 23 with the robot as well ( gastric bypass).

Back in mid-March I was offered a mid-April date, but decided to schedule for May 18 as I realized there were likely going to be some problems from COVID which I was hoping to miss. My May 18 date was canceled about three weeks prior to surgery and I just got rescheduled last week. My new date is July 6 and I am so excited I can hardly stand it! Hoping these next few weeks fly by!
I actually got pretty depressed when I was canceled and literally ate all day. Now I am just trying to lose the pounds I gained before I start my two week liquid diet.

Had my RNY gastric bypass 2 days ago. I’m home and other sore I’m doing pretty good. Hang in there everyone your time is coming and it will be worth the wait in the end. Best of luck to everyone!

All my pre-op appointments came to a standstill on March 12th, except for the 2 last pre-op education modules that were done with Zoom online. Last week most of the specialists re-opened. Yes! So now I have four things left to do: sleep study, mammogram, colonoscopy and cardiology clearance. Fingers crossed for all of us!

@Catlove23 completely understandable! I felt the same way!! I was scheduled for April 20th, then BOOM! I'm cancelled! Started gaining weight and just didn't care. Now I'm scheduled for June 3rd.

My surgery has finally been rescheduled for June 16 - so, a two-month delay almost to the day (original date was April 14). Yay!

My covid test just got scheduled for next Tuesday. I made it for *after* work. No students need to see me on video sessions all blotchy from trauma tears if it's that bad, lol. It's getting closer!

I was originally scheduled for March 18th. Re-scheduled the first day back and had surgery yesterday May 18th.

I finally received my new date!!! June 26th it is. My original date was 4/13. This wait has been hard. I have been eating really, really bad and gained about 5 pounds. I live in Nashville, but will have surgery in Atlanta with Dr. Lytle. Hopefully there is not another delay..... I have to spend 2 extra days prior to surgery in Atlanta for covid testing..... Let’s keep our fingers and toes crossed!

Hello all! My first post, and I’m really appreciative that a community like this is available! I’m a 49 year old female, scheduled for VSG surgery on June 2 with target weight loss of 90 pounds.
