I'm a month out and have developed gastritis. Went to the hospital 2 nights ago because the pain is UNBEARABLE. After 10 hours and a CAT scan later. They came up with gastritis. Scan showed everything internally healing as it should, no leaks...sleeve is perfect.
I woke up last night and snatched my mask off because I could FEEL. A gigantic gas bubble develop in my chest. For the past few nights I've only worn my CPAP about 3-4 hours because it feels like I'm suffocating after a year of having it.
Anyone else experienced or heard of this?

You can't work off more than you put in either. That's important to remember. If that makes any sense.

I'm 3 weeks post op today...for me...I get an pain in my shoulder...sometimes a runny nose...burp..or hiccup. Each person is different. When I first started...I only allowed myself 3 ounces...to be full. Hope that helps.Maybe a dumb question. I’m 3 days post op. I’ve been setting my 20 minute timer and pouring my 1/2 c. of Protein Shake to drink. So far I’ve only gotten down 1/4 c. at each meal before my timer runs out. The info from my nutritionist also says to stop when you’re full, don’t feel like you have to finish the whole thing. But EVERYTHING feels weird right now. It’s all so new and I don’t know what I’m feeling at any given point. Any advice? It's MY time!

Hey surgery Twin! I'm right there with you. No appetite AT ALL. Not even hunger. Protein has come in the form of (and I am nowhere near my daily amount) sliced deli turkey...cod fish...salmon and cheese. I have EVERY Protein Shake and powder and they have all turned out to be a waste of money!Hi everyone -
I’m a little over 2 weeks post-VSG (5/15). Everything has been going great and I’ve already dropped 25# from my surgery weight. The problem is, I have ZERO appetite. I thought some hunger would begin to return as my body healed, but if anything, it’s declined further, because just the thought of eating anything, including sipping broth, gives me terrible waves of nausea. Yesterday, it was so bad, I dry-heaved into the toilet for 5 minutes, but nothing of course came up except Water.
I’m really struggling to get at least my Protein in, sneaking scoops of GENEPRO into anything and everything, but it’s so hard because really the taste of anything except really cold, unsweetened iced pineapple black tea (yes I know, very specific ) turns my stomach. So even Protein Water is a no go. And I cannot do Protein Shakes - something about the texture of that cold, thick liquid grosses me out to my bones ::shudder::
Has anyone else struggled with this? If yes, what did you do? Did it abate on its own?
I'm trying different foods...seeing what I can tolerate. Right now...and since surgery...my greatest battle is Constipation. Drinking is a full time job...as I have to remind myself. I realize that it could be worse. I'll just keep trying...taking my vitamins...hopefully something will give for BOTH of us soon.

The best thing that I never knew I needed...until i tested and was labeled severe...with ZERO snoring. Insurance paid for mine. Not uncomfortable now...like anything it takes getting adjusted to.Hey y'all, got my sleep test results back...mild sleep apnea. And I mean like the range is 5-15 and I scored a 5.5....has anyone else dealt with such a low level apnea? I don't feel the apparent effects of it but now apparently I have to get and use a cpap machine.
I am going to talk to my pcp and call the bariatric surgery department, there is no part of me that wants to pay money for a contraption that looks horribly uncomfortable...anyone have any thoughts or use a cpap for such mild apnea that has seen life changing changes for the better?
Thanks guys!

The only thing that I'm using the most of is...lip balm. I tried some Gas-X for the first time today. I think I have prepared myself more for the full liquid and puree stages. I start the full liquid tomorrow. Right now I'm still on the clear liquid phase. And it's pretty bland.Since being home. What are somethings that you wish you had or have that you find your self using the most in recovery?

Heyyyyy.......I was trying to figure out where to post it! I was in by 7am and out by 6:15 and home by 7pm. The gas was trapped all over my body..especially the shoulders but that has now subsided! I've been sipping when I haven't been sleeping. Slept in my recliner...the bed was not going to work for me!
Water seems to stay down nicely as has the Premier Clear. I'm getting ready try some broth that I pre-made.

Sure....how can I send you a message actually? I'm all over the place!I’m ready I guess, but super nervous. This will be my 2nd time under anesthesia, the first for dental surgery that lasted about 45 minutes or so. What about you? Do you want to exchange numbers and text/call sometime? It's MY time!

And people.thought I was exaggerating! I'm so glad it's over for you!! Ya ready????Omggggggg!!! I had one Monday. I cried out and the nurse asked me not to scream because they would think she was hurting me. The whole time I’m cursing her out in my head and wanting to kick her over the little counter! I thought flu swabs were bad, I’d rather have another baby unmedicated before I take another Covid test!

I'm soooo happy to hear everything went well. Continue to rest up! Onwarf and upward from here! My day is tomorrow! My surgery revision from band to bypass was yesterday morning and I got home tonight about 5pm. I’m very sleepy and I will say there is good amount of pain on my left side which is controlled by medication. The biggest challenge I have this early is having a hard time getting comfortable and I have no interest in food. I’m forcing broth and Jello. Last week I couldn’t imagine only eating broth and Jello and today, I cant imagine being hungry ever. So weird. Even through the fog and pain, I have no regrets!

Surgery Twin! Good luck!I’m going in this Friday, the 15th for gastric bypass. I’m super nervous and struggling with this liver shrink diet. Initially scheduled for April 27th, the quarantine made me crave everything ever eaten by man, so it made it harder after I started the liver shrink then got rescheduled. Congratulations to all those with dates, and those without, I’m sure they’ll be getting you in before too long. Our hospitals sent out emails acknowledging that whether it’s elective or not, these surgeries are needed and our health is at risk the longer that they’re put off, so hopefully everyone looks at it that way and gets everyone in. Best of luck!

Make sure it's in correctly....it should have kinda burned when it went in. Sit down on it. I wouldn't rush to the emergency room.

Yes...avoiding all of those things. I'm thinking I am sleeping with my mouth closed. I noticed that when I first starting using the cpap. Thanks for your words of encouragement. It means the world to me.
