Have you tried the pouch reset? I was looking it up. It's a 3 day reset... you basically go back to liquid Protein and broth in day 1. Then day 2 you add the mushy foods and liquids still. Day 3 you do liquids, soft foods and then a protein rich dinner with veggies

    Hi guys
My surgery was 2/28/2020... has anyone experienced a sharp pain on their left side... not at the incision site, but near the belly button? It's a really sharp pain. I've spoken to my surgeon, he seems to think it's a pulled muscle. I don't feel like it's a pulled muscle. It hurts if I bend or move positions. I have to be very careful. Has anyone had this experience?

When i lie down on my left side I get a sharp pain to the left of my belly button. It’s not close to any of my incisions and usually only hurts in that position. It reminds me of when I played sports as a kid and I would get a “stitch” if I ran too much. I’ve read that running stitches happen due to muscle spasms or a pinched nerve, which seems plausible for our situation too. Mine doesn’t sound as bad as yours though; it’s really more of a nuisance because I like sleeping on my left side and I can’t. My surgery was on 2/14, so hopefully your pain will get better

Hello fellow Feb. 2020 weight loss peeps. Since it’s now March and we’ve all had our surgeries, I thought it would be nice to start a post-op thread. 😊

Hi, I'm 2 weeks post op and I remember after my surgery, I mean immediately after, I had shortness of breathing, and like a sharp pain when I took a deep breath, my brother did this same surgery 5 years back and he said it was the anesthesia that shrinks your lungs for an initial period, but now its completely gone and that spirometer really helps, right after surgery I was only able to get 2 balls in the air, now I can get all 3, oh and right after surgery, I also had this like bad back pain which also went overtime, but man, it actually ended up fixing my back problems drastically, now I feel so good. Just hang in there, oh and this is very important, breath in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth, if you don't take deep breaths, nothing will change, it will just be the same.

Ok. I have 2 of them. I was admitted back to the hospital the same day of my discharge. I couldn't catch my breath and my hemoglobin levels were alarmingly low. I have an appointment today and I'm going to have them do some bloodwork for me. Thank you!

I did, immediately after surgery. I think it is pretty common...My doc gave me one of these incentive spirometers to address it. It basically encourages you to do deep breathing. Can you ask your doc for one?
....or do some deep breathing yourself? Either way, let your doc know.
